354: Gold will always shine

Cheng Gong's sudden words made everyone pause for a moment.

Gu Qinghan turned to look at the somewhat disheveled Researcher, thought for a moment, and asked,

"Are you confident? Or is it just a guess."

Cheng Gong didn't hide anything, stating directly,

"It's just a guess, but I think there's a chance.

No one has ever taken this path before, so we can only explore it little by little."

Gu Qinghan nodded; in fact, a similar thought had just flashed through his mind.

After receiving Gu Qinghan's affirmation, Cheng Gong immediately began to gather people to prepare.

The recent success made everyone happy; even after an all-nighter, there was no slack or dissatisfaction.

Except for one person, Professor Su Huang.

He watched Cheng Gong, who was busy and passing by him, and said with a fake smile,

"Well, your wings have hardened.

Why didn't I notice before how good you are at finding opportunities to climb up?"

"Teacher, I didn't... I just think we should strike while the iron is hot and figure out more things."

Cheng Gong still wanted to explain, but Su Huang snorted coldly and turned to leave.

However, he still followed everyone and began preparing the relevant materials.

Ten minutes later, all the materials were laid out on the table, and Cheng Gong took the lead in starting the first experiment.

"One portion of Demonic Power, one portion of Dragon Power. Begin the first experiment."

Professor Tie was even standing by, responsible for recording the experiment's process and results.

Cheng Gong glanced at Su Huang, who was watching him coldly, and sighed silently in his heart.

However, his gaze quickly became resolute, and he rapidly mixed the various materials in front of him.

At this moment, he seemed to transform into a bartender, every movement incredibly fluid.

He treated the Dragon Power in the same way he had previously handled the Demonic Power, but the first attempt failed.

This failure was different from before; the bottle directly exploded, startling everyone around.

Cheng Gong's goggles were pierced by glass shards, almost injuring his eyes.

A bloodstain was also cut across his face, blood seeping out and adorning his white lab coat with a few red 'flowers'.

Professor Tie, seeing that Cheng Gong was fine, first recorded it in his notebook, then frowned and said,

"This stuff is even more volatile than Demonic Power. Do we need some protective measures?"

Cheng Gong, however, shook his head, not even bothering with the bloodstain on his face.

He looked at the mess on the table and laughed,

"I was a bit too excited just now, otherwise, it actually could have succeeded.

Besides, even if I get injured, aren't there Professionals who can help me?"

With that, he quickly tidied the table and began the next fusion once more.

This time, the earthy yellow Dragon Power was smoothly melted into the liquid.

Cheng Gong placed it aside and then processed another portion of Demonic Power.

Then, he held the two bottles in his left and right hands and took a deep breath.

The two bottles slowly tilted, pouring out the two different-colored viscous liquids within, mixing them in another bottle.

Seeing this, all the Researchers took a step back.

This was a completely subconscious action; after the previous explosion, they were all a bit scared.

Even if the glass wouldn't cause them much harm, this subconscious reaction wouldn't change quickly.

But to everyone's surprise, the two powers, which did not belong to this world, remained peaceful after entering the same container.

Even after the two bottles in Cheng Gong's hands were empty, no abnormality occurred.

Gu Qinghan and Chu Tian were the first to walk over; they looked into the bottle, and their expressions suddenly became quite interesting.

In the bottle, the black representing Demonic Power had occupied most of the area.

And the earthy yellow Dragon Power was like an innocent Girl cornered by a group of thugs, occupying less than half of the area.

"What's going on? Are the two powers mutually exclusive?"

Chu Tian looked at Cheng Gong in confusion; the latter's face was also filled with disbelief.

He had considered many possibilities, but he had never anticipated this situation.

He took out a glass rod and carefully inserted it.

Then, the two liquids inside quickly stirred into a mass, but after a moment, they returned to their previous state.

At this, everyone moved closer, offering their opinions:

"Why does it feel like the Dragon Power is afraid of the Demonic Power? Are dragons and demons natural enemies?"

"I don't know, in TV and movies, which of these two is more powerful? I haven't watched much."

"I thought some kind of cosmic phenomenon would appear, but nothing happened."

Chu Tian glanced around, causing the noisy discussions to gradually subside.

Then, he looked at Gu Qinghan and said with a wry smile,

"What do we do now? It doesn't seem to be of much use."

Gu Qinghan frowned in thought, while Cheng Gong suggested,

"Let's first try injecting this into the mutated white mouse; perhaps there will be other changes inside the body?"

Gu Qinghan looked at him, then nodded:

"If you have any ideas, go ahead and do them. Chu Tian will agree."

Chu Tian also nodded; he could tell that Gu Qinghan greatly admired this man.

Cheng Gong nodded gratefully, asked a Girl nearby for a small mouse, and then completed the operation.

"It will take some time for the effect to manifest. Perhaps we can try that Sacred Power..."

As these words left Cheng Gong's mouth, Su Huang quickly walked out from the crowd.

His expression at this moment was extremely angry; he pointed at Cheng Gong and said,

"Absurd! Arrogant!

How did I teach you before? You've only just achieved a little success and you're already aiming too high?

There's only that much Sacred Power; if you waste it, do you know what a huge loss that would be?"

After saying this, he bowed apologetically to Gu Qinghan and the others, and just as he was about to speak, Gu Qinghan interrupted him.

Gu Qinghan sneered as he glanced at the indignant Su Huang, and lightly tossed out a few words:

"I said, whatever you want to do, do it freely.

The Sacred Power was given by me, and I don't mind, so what are you afraid of?"

He simply couldn't be bothered with this guy, Su Huang, because the other party was clearly trying to re-establish his authority at this moment.

Even if he pretended to be noble, Gu Qinghan would no longer trust him in the slightest.

As for him using the matter of teaching Cheng Gong before to suppress the other party, Gu Qinghan didn't want to deal with it at all.

The world had undergone earth-shattering changes; sticking to the old ways would only lead to nothing.

Only doers like Cheng Gong could break through the siege at such a time and create seemingly impossible miracles.

Cheng Gong looked apologetically at Su Huang, then turned to retrieve the Sacred Power.

However, as he turned, he heard Gu Qinghan speak again:

"General Chu Tian, I think Cheng Gong's ability is outstanding, don't you agree?"

"I agree. How about this, Cheng Gong, from now on, your position will be elevated to the Professor level, on par with the other two Professors.

From now on, anything he wants to do, he doesn't need to seek anyone's permission. Does anyone object?"

After General Chu Tian's voice fell, there was an uproar in the room, yet no one dared to speak.

Su Huang's fists were tightly clenched, but he could only swallow his anger.

He had kept Cheng Gong hidden for so long, but finally, he couldn't hide him anymore.
