356: Bone Tomb

Many people were attracted by the commotion and quickly ran over.

When they saw the changes in the small mouse and realized it showed no signs of active aggression, they immediately burst into cheers.

Cheng Gong also looked delighted. Ignoring the praise directed at him, he merely said:

“This does not mean the method is completely successful yet. Just like the previous Demonic Power experiments, it still requires a long process of testing and refinement.

However, judging from the current results, the Sacred Power seems to have a good effect on the savage elements within the Dragon Power.”

Professor Tie also nodded, clearly agreeing wholeheartedly with Cheng Gong’s assessment.

Someone nearby stretched and said to their colleague:

“It seems the demons really aren’t good news. Sacred Power is much more reliable.”

His colleague nodded in deep agreement and quickly replied:

“That’s right. How many nights did we pull all-nighters just to research the Demonic Power?

Sacred Power, on the other hand, is cooperative—no side effects, and success right away.”

Many people voiced similar sentiments, causing Gu Qinghan’s brows to furrow slightly.

Both types of energy originated from the gods.

The difference was that the source of the Sacred Power was likely the deities who did not want new gods to appear in this world.

The source of the Demonic Power, however, was the Demon God who was forced into the game after being manipulated.

Since Demonic Power could even be refined by ordinary people, albeit with low purity, Gu Qinghan found it hard not to suspect that the Demon God had done this intentionally.

Was this capricious main god trying to use this power to disrupt the game?

Although Gu Qinghan had previously been misled by a demon and almost signed a contract, claiming the power was inherently evil,

it now seemed that this power actually had some decent positive uses.

Gu Qinghan looked at Cheng Gong and said very seriously:

“The rest is up to you, but I suggest you still focus on Demonic Power.

Although this energy appears to have significant side effects, its quantity is the most massive.

Furthermore, if your research can delve deeper, you might be able to reduce these side effects even further, and the enhancement effects could become more pronounced.”

Cheng Gong nodded earnestly. Although he also felt that Demonic Power was inferior to Sacred Power, Gu Qinghan certainly made a valid point.

What he didn’t know was that this was a reason Gu Qinghan had fabricated.

The only person in the world who currently knew the truth of this game had no way to reveal it to the public.

Because as soon as Gu Qinghan mentioned information about those gods in this world, those gods would have a reason to strike against him.

After giving a few more instructions, a soldier delivered the news that the time capsule had been completed, which made Gu Qinghan’s breathing quicken slightly.

Led by Chu Tian, he quickly left the Research Institute.

The small mouse that successfully survived was named experiment subject zero and placed in a separate area.

Strangely, when the Researchers tried to feed and water experiment subject zero, they found that it had no interest whatsoever.

Cheng Gong recorded all these details and commented with some confusion:

“Even the previous experiment subjects that didn’t survive needed to eat frantically before dying.

The situation with this one seems completely different from before.”

…In the previous conference room, Gu Qinghan placed his hands on the table, his fingers tapping the surface erratically.

Suddenly, the door was pushed open, and Zheng Shanhai walked in, bringing with him a Time Walker whom Gu Qinghan had met before.

Seeing Gu Qinghan’s clearly anxious expression, he chuckled:

“Alright, all the time capsules produced by all the Time Walkers in Shangjing Base are here.

This time, they didn’t save a single bit of the time they had stored.”

As he finished speaking, the Time Walker behind him opened a box, revealing two large bottles of capsules inside.

Each of these capsules was about the size of a quail egg, but they looked distorted.

Gu Qinghan watched as the box opened; the capsules inside the bottles shifted, their positions changing slightly.

Yet, after he blinked, he found that the capsules had returned to their previous positions.

Zheng Shanhai pushed the box toward Gu Qinghan and said:

“These are the most time capsules we could produce in a short period, and they are the result of us deliberately storing time after receiving your message.

Time Walkers consume not only mana when using their abilities, but also stored time.

If we wanted to create a large number of time capsules again, we would have to wait at least a few months.”

Gu Qinghan shook his head and said gratefully to Zheng Shanhai:

“No need, Uncle Hai, I’m already very grateful.”

He looked at the two large bottles of time capsules; staring at them for too long gave him a dizzy feeling, so he instinctively averted his gaze.

Immediately, he asked:

“Will this stuff just be poured directly into the so-called river of time, and then it can lead me to the person I’m looking for?”

Zheng Shanhai glanced at the Time Walker he brought in, and the latter said in a deep voice:

“First, you need to throw an item or equipment carrying that person’s aura into the river of time, and then follow its guidance to determine her location.

Once you find her, you will pour these time capsules into the river of time to disrupt the flow of time, and use that window to bring her out.

You should have a method for bringing her out, but that person’s Time Walker ability will likely disappear completely.

At that point, she will return to the location where she first gained her ability, so you need to prepare in advance.”

Gu Qinghan nodded. He had heard the latter part of this explanation back in Stone City.

He had always remembered this, and it was the reason he came to Shangjing.

This was because the city where he attended university was the closest to Shangjing.

To save Chen Yuting, he needed to return to his former campus.

He remembered that there was a terrifying Mutated Ancient Tree there, which had been frightening even when the game first started, but he was fearless.

Even if it were a dragon’s lair or a tiger’s den, Gu Qinghan would charge in without hesitation.

Suddenly, Gu Qinghan thought of something and tried to contact the Guardian in his mind, asking:

“Wait, did I forget to choose a skill after exploring the Netherworld last time?”

The Guardian’s voice quickly responded, not making Gu Qinghan wait long:

“You finally remembered? I was startled by your suicidal actions back then, and I didn’t expect you to forget about it yourself.”

“Didn’t you rush me to leave…”

Gu Qinghan muttered, but then heard the Guardian say:

“Your exploration of the Burial Ground was quite good, but considering your current skills, how about I just choose the most suitable skill for you?”

Gu Qinghan did not refuse. The Guardian’s understanding of these powers was certainly countless times greater than his own, and there was no reason to reject the offer of help.

Suddenly, Gu Qinghan felt a surge of power within his body, and immediately realized he had gained a new skill:

[Bone Tomb: Consumes 10,000 mana to summon a Bone Tomb at a designated location, allowing skeletons from the realm of the undead to fight for you.

A maximum of one Bone Tomb can exist on the field at a time. When a Bone Tomb is destroyed, a random number of skeletons will appear, and it cannot be summoned again for a short period.]
