265: Explore the River Styx
Tiya Star.
"Thank you, Inspector Lin Ye, for your help!" The leader of the Tiya People's voice was booming and filled with gratitude as he extended his highest respect to Lin Ye. They knew deeply that if Lin Ye hadn't extended a timely helping hand and resolved this huge crisis, they would have faced unbearable losses.
Lin Ye nodded slightly in response. For him, such a matter was merely a trivial effort (not really), but he also understood that accepting appropriate rewards was only natural. After all, he wasn't willing to be a good person who only gave without receiving.
The Tiya King was clearly very good at reading expressions, and he secretly congratulated himself on being sufficiently prepared. He gently waved his hand, and a team of well-trained soldiers swiftly stepped forward, presenting a series of exquisitely packaged gifts before Lin Ye.
"These are the Tiya People's tokens of gratitude, please accept them," the Tiya King said with a smile.
Lin Ye's lips curled slightly, and a subtle hint of satisfaction flickered in his Star Eyes. Under his powerful Star Eyes vision, the items within these gifts were clearly visible, with no secrets to hide. He secretly nodded, feeling very satisfied with the gift.
It is well known that the Tiya People grew up in a resource-rich environment, not only excelling in the path of physical cultivation but also controlling the Netherworld, which contains abundant Soul cultivation resources. Clearly, the Tiya King was well-versed in this, and the gifts he presented perfectly met Lin Ye's needs, including both precious materials beneficial for body tempering and rare treasures for nourishing the Soul.
Facing such generous offerings, Lin Ye naturally wouldn't refuse. He knew that these resources would be of great help to his future cultivation path. Thus, he gladly accepted the generous gift and expressed his gratitude to the Tiya King.
"What is the punishment from above for us?" the Tiya King asked cautiously.
This dereliction of duty would likely incur quite a few punishments. After all, while the Galaxy Lord was benevolent, he was not weak; there were rewards and punishments.
Lin Ye shook his head and did not respond. He wasn't clear, but he imagined the punishment wouldn't be light.
The Tiya King sighed in disappointment.
Leaving Tiya Star, Lin Ye chose to continue delving into the secrets of the Netherworld. With the Yin-Yang Fish, he was qualified to explore the Netherworld.
Legend has it that the Styx River is located at the edge of hell, its waters murky and emitting a suffocating aura of Deathly stillness.
However, the Netherworld's Styx River seemed to lack that prestige, falling far short of the legendary Styx River.
But its characteristic of giving birth to wandering Souls was worth exploring deeply.
Lin Ye entered the Nether Ship Space and began to control the Nether Ship to wander within the Styx River.
The Nether Ship Space was large, but within the Styx River, it was merely a transparent bubble less than two meters in diameter, blending in with the surrounding Styx River water and difficult to detect.
As the owner of the Nether Ship, Lin Ye could even make it smaller or enlarge it.
The Styx River traversed the entire map of the Netherworld, its origin and end unknown.
It was only known to originate from an unknown void and arrive at a place of nothingness, where Life could not enter, hailed as the boundary of Life and Death.
Lin Ye naturally wouldn't seek Death by exploring its origin and end. He just wanted to see if there was anything valuable in the Styx River.
Deathly stillness, still Deathly stillness.
Let alone valuable things, not even a single stone could be seen.
Lin Ye was unwilling and scooped up mud and sand from the bottom of the Styx River into his space.
The Styx River sand was fine and soft, pale in color, as if tainted with the aura of Death.
Lin Ye tried to extract value from it, but besides feeling his Soul being corroded, there was no other sensation.
He still didn't believe it and scooped up a handful of Styx River water. As a highly corrosive substance, Styx River water would surely be a good weapon for attack.
But after leaving the Styx River, the special properties of the Styx River water quickly dissipated.
Capitalists would weep, and rats would be heartbroken.
You truly have no value at all.
Lin Ye wailed inwardly.
Could it be that the true Nether Ship was really that useless?
Damn it!
Lin Ye felt as if he had been insulted. No one could be deemed worthless by a person from the Huaxia, even a barren land would be planted with vegetables.
This vast area of the Styx River couldn't possibly have no value at all. Lin Ye observed even more carefully, trying to discover the value of the Styx River.
Unconsciously, he reached the source of the Styx River.
Lin Ye sighed, having found nothing.
You are a true capitalist bane.
Just as he was about to turn back, he felt a bond of Destiny Law from the void at the source.
Lin Ye frowned. Many people had tried to enter this place, but found nothing.
Should he go in and take a look?
To be safe, he used Destiny Law to divine his fortune.
Auspicious, very auspicious.
His hesitation dissipated. With such a divination, his luck for this trip was not bad.
As Lin Ye cautiously controlled the Nether Ship to gradually approach, the originally calm, Deathly still, and inaccessible origin of the Styx River suddenly rippled. Immediately after, a gigantic gray vortex materialized out of thin air! This mysterious vortex seemed to possess endless gravitational pull, effortlessly swallowing the Nether Ship.
In the blink of an eye, Lin Ye found himself in a pitch-black space where he couldn't see his hand in front of his face. All around was silent, with only that powerful and heart-pounding suction continuously pulling the Nether Ship, making it speed away like an arrow released from a bow!
In this bizarre dark world, time seemed to lose its meaning, and the passage of years became blurred. Lin Ye didn't know how long had passed, only feeling as if he had already experienced a long period of time. Just then, a sudden violent tremor broke this silence. The Nether Ship was thrown out of the pitch-black and deep space as if by an invisible giant hand.
The Nether Ship slowly descended into a silent river area, as if it naturally belonged to this eerie and terrifying world. From its appearance and aura, this river was extremely similar to the Netherworld's Styx River.
Lin Ye carefully piloted the Nether Ship upstream. The surrounding scenery was horrifying; a grayish hue enveloped the entire region, giving a sense of endless oppression. Occasionally, a few lonely skeletons floated by, their hollow eye sockets flickering with eerie Soul flames.
There was not a trace of Life here. As far as the eye could see, there was only desolation and ruin. The land was so barren that not even a single blade of green grass could grow. Only the black and red lava, burning like hellfire, flowed across the land like the blood of demons, becoming the only embellishment of this land of Death. Scorching heat waves assailed him, mixed with a pungent smell of sulfur, making it difficult to breathe.
Another Netherworld?
Lin Ye was puzzled. Was this how the source of the Styx River truly was? He didn't think so.
