78: Underwater World

The underwater world was magnificent.

Kawi introduced everything along the way.

The Mohe Clan protected the ocean very well; their urbanization progress was not high precisely to reduce harm to the ocean.

Pollution discharged from important factories had strict regulations, and untreatable wastewater and residues would be sealed and taken to uninhabited islands for destruction.

Lin Ye was shocked by the wisdom of the Mohe Clan.

The city that came into view was full of ocean charm.

The Mohe Clan liked to live in caves; there were no tall buildings underwater, only low, individual caves, while the surface was covered with various corals, marine plants, and a wide variety of marine life and the Mohe Clan coexisting peacefully.

There were not many vehicles on the streets; most of the Mohe Clan rode marine creatures for travel.

“Lin Ye, how do you like our Mohe Clan city?” Kawi had a proud look on his face.

“It’s amazing. How did you manage to coexist peacefully with marine life?” With a light brain, communication was possible even underwater.

“Those are pets tamed by our Mohe Clan, just like your human cats and dogs. Our Mohe Clan are the darlings of the ocean; what we are best at is the development of the ocean,” Kawi explained.

Lin Ye sighed, the Mohe Clan was truly formidable. There were so many marine creatures down there, yet they were all domesticated pets.

Everyone said the Mohe Clan was best at fishing, but this taming ability, in his opinion, was the most impressive.

They arrived at a heavily guarded area, protected by many fully armed Shark Knights.

The leader, seeing their arrival, rode his shark over, bowed, and said, “Mr. Kawi, may I ask what brings you here?”

“General She’ertūn, I am here with Sir Lin Ye to collect supplies. This is the pass.” Kawi handed a scale-shaped pass to General She’ertūn.

After General She’ertūn verified it with an instrument, he ordered his subordinates to let them pass.

Under Kawi’s lead, Lin Ye passed through the group of Shark Knights.

Seeing his curiosity, Kawi explained, “This is a specialty profession of our clan, Ocean Knight. These sharks are all Tier 5 exotic beasts at minimum. Through the knights’ cultivation and training, they can be invincible in the ocean.”

These fish were naturally not the sharks of Blue Star, they only looked similar, so they were also translated as sharks.

“Our Mohe Clan also has Giant Whale Knights and various other knights, which are considered our main armed forces.” Kawi did not hide anything; his enthusiastic introduction was also to let Lin Ye get a good look at their strength.

Only by showcasing one’s strength and confidence would partners exert their full effort.

Lin Ye compared them and found that the Mohe Clan’s military strength was indeed formidable, mainly because their average quality was too high. Civilians had Tier 2 or 3 strength, and these soldiers were basically Tier 4 at minimum.

However, their human soldiers were not that strong.

Taking their Xia Kingdom as an example, the local armed forces were the weakest, consisting of Tier 2 and 3 soldiers, with Tier 4 and above only starting higher up.

However, fortunately, their human top-tier strength was strong. One of the Xia Kingdom’s strongest units, the Iron Blood War Souls, currently had one hundred thirty-two active members, all Tier 7 and above, and they all had the same profession, having been specially recruited as geniuses during high school and trained.

This was just one unit; the Xia Kingdom’s forces amounted to over three hundred million, and there were countless hidden trump cards. The Xia Kingdom alone could eliminate the Mohe Clan.

The leader of Lin Ye’s global competition team came from a hidden unit.

Unfortunately, the leader was not very talkative, otherwise Lin Ye would have tried to cultivate a good relationship with him.

After Lin Ye entered, he found that this building had troops patrolling constantly, even stricter than the guards outside.

Entering the elevator, they descended one hundred floors before finally reaching their destination.

After a few more complicated procedures, Lin Ye was led to the treasure vault.

“Lin Ye, do you have any requirements for the treasures?” Kawi asked.

Lin Ye had thought about it and said without hesitation, “I need a Soul defense type treasure.”

Lin Ye did not yet have an empty slot to absorb Soul-type abilities, so a Soul defense type treasure had to be taken.

Soul attacks were very niche; Lin Ye had only seen a few people possess them along the way, but those who did were exceptionally strong, such as Lin Yao from Magic University, a Soul Master, whose methods were extremely dirty.

Then there was Helena from the Avengers Alliance, the Scarlet Witch also had Soul attacks, which were disgustingly effective.

Fortunately, he had avoided them by luck and had not fought against people with such disgusting methods, but this time in the racial confrontation, he could not avoid it; the opponent would send targeted individuals.

He had thought about wearing Soul defense type treasures before.

But Soul defense types were not cheap, and they were rare in quantity.

However, for a race, it was naturally not a problem.

Lin Ye was led by the administrator to a secret room.

The administrator reminded him, “Sir, there are one hundred thirty-two Soul defense type treasures suitable for you. Excluding those that are not compatible and those that are relatively low-end, there are eight suitable for you. Here is the data for these eight.”

Lin Ye looked at the light screen and carefully selected.

Daughter of the Sea, Silk Scarf, Soul Guard…

After weighing them, “I choose the Siren Scale.”

Siren Scale: Gold-grade Soul defense equipment, made from…

The Siren Scale was currently the most suitable for Lin Ye; it could automatically fuse when placed on the forehead, guarding the Soul.

Moreover, it had no consumption, being a passive type. Although its defense strength was upper-middle, the first two advantages were too suitable for the current Lin Ye.

Other items, such as the Silk Scarf, which had the strongest defense, could provide a terrifying Soul shield lasting more than ten minutes by inputting Soul power.

But Soul attacks were too insidious and hard to detect, which greatly reduced its practicality.

The administrator said nothing more and retrieved the Siren Scale.

Lin Ye absorbed the Siren Scale under his guidance.

After the Siren Scale was placed on his forehead, it slowly fused and disappeared.

Now, Soul defense, physical defense, and elemental defense were finally complete, and he no longer had to worry about sneak attacks from the old sixes.

Lin Ye felt a sense of security.

After absorbing it, Kawi took him away.

“The Mermaid’s Tear is in another location. Due to strict preservation conditions, we need to go to the site,” Kawi explained.

Lin Ye had no objections, but he asked if he could experience riding a shark; it was fine if he couldn’t.

Kawi naturally would not refuse such a simple request to gain goodwill.

However, the sharks of the on-duty soldiers definitely could not be ridden; that was an inviolable bottom line.

But riding marine creatures was already a popular entertainment industry for them, so after some communication, a shark with rich operational experience was sent over, and they specifically chose the strongest Tier 6 one.

Lin Ye felt a sense of novelty riding on the shark.

The experience was very good; the shark’s technique was excellent, and there was also a gentle force pushing away the oncoming water current.

It was very new.

He had ridden horses in his previous life, but horses were bumpier, while sharks were different, swaying more with the movement of their bodies.

Just like that, they arrived at their destination.

Lin Ye was surprised to find that it was actually a breeding ground.

Countless marine creatures cruised in groups, without fences or fishing nets. Calling it a breeding ground, it rather resembled a wild area rich in fish species.

“Sir Lin Ye, please wait a moment.”
