494: Mutation

Lin Ye shrank his divine body and shot straight up.

Time and space flowed, and the Chaos Star God protected his body.

All powers merged into one, solid as a rock.

“Interesting.”

Thunder Unicorn had long noticed this young man, who was merely at the Dominator level.

In his long years, Lin Ye’s existence was unique.

There had been Dominators fighting against Venerables before.

However, they usually fought against incomplete Small World-level existences; how could anyone chase after a higher existence to fight?

He was delighted at the hunt.

He couldn’t help but lash out with his tail.

“Dishonorable.”

Lin Ye cursed inwardly.

Thunder Unicorn only made a move when that red-faced Venerable was almost successful.

But when it was his turn, he had only passed halfway before being targeted.

So, you get stronger when you meet a strong opponent, huh? You never intended to let anyone pass?

Lin Ye didn’t indulge him either; his divine body swelled, and he lashed out with a leg even larger than the tail whip.

The two collided, and an earth-shattering sonic boom erupted, with the Thunder Pool Sky Territory being dispersed from the point of impact.

To everyone’s shock, Thunder Unicorn was actually defeated and forced back.

Lin Ye, however, remained motionless.

?

Thunder Unicorn was amazed and full of questions.

Their Sacred Beasts were enormous; he was thirty million meters tall.

Coupled with his high realm, he was very confident he could crush Lin Ye’s physical body.

But he didn’t expect to capsize in a ditch.

Lin Ye continued forward.

Thunder Unicorn, as if unconvinced, kept lashing out with his tail.

He seemed to be competing, only using his physical strength and nothing else.

The result was not unexpected.

Lin Ye easily broke through the blockade.

“You passed.”

After a long while.

Thunder Unicorn finally managed to utter a sentence.

Lin Ye nodded.

He didn’t look at Thunder Unicorn but gazed in awe at the sky beyond the thunderclouds.

The sky was illuminated by the sun’s radiance, and beneath it was a pure white sea of clouds, surrounded by layers of mist, like a celestial realm.

Floating Islands drifted amidst the sea of clouds, like reefs in the ocean.

On those Floating Islands were halls emitting golden light.

The architectural style of the halls was unique, full of fantastical colors.

Tall towers, magnificent palaces, and exquisite bridges were scattered throughout, forming a beautiful picture.

At the center was a huge square, where a majestic Sacred Beast statue stood.

Extending outwards from the square were wide streets.

The streets were lined with various flowers, plants, and trees, providing lush shade and fragrant blossoms.

“The treasures you seek are within those halls,” Thunder Unicorn’s voice rang out.

Although he had been passed, he was not angry but rather admired Lin Ye greatly.

So he unexpectedly offered a reminder or two.

Lin Ye was a little surprised by Thunder Unicorn’s kindness.

But he didn’t say much and rushed straight to the hall.

Just then, a mournful cry sounded.

“Hiss~”

Thunder Unicorn’s expression suddenly changed.

“Who dares to attack our Sacred Beasts?”

He summoned endless lightning and rode the thunderclouds into the distance.

Lin Ye was stunned.

But he suddenly realized that the hidden power of the demons was here.

Although he didn’t see the live situation, he was certain that it was the demons who attacked the Sacred Beasts.

“Should I go watch the show, or…?”

Lin Ye hesitated.

Right now, that hall was like a piece of exposed fatty meat, laid before him.

However, the actions of the demon race concerned the overall situation.

“What do the demons want to do? Not knowing is too unsettling; it’s better to confirm first.”

No matter how many treasures were in this palace, they were not as important as the grand scheme of things.

After making his decision.

Lin Ye flew into the distance.

After he left, figures continuously broke through the Thunder Pool Sky Territory.

“Thunder Unicorn is gone; I wonder what happened in the distance.”

“Judging by that mournful cry, it seems the Cloud Crane is in trouble.”

The Cloud Crane was one of the Sacred Beasts.

“This is also our opportunity; no need to pass the test, greatly saving time. The treasures of the Myriad Heavens are all ours.”

Some were pleasantly surprised, feeling it was a heaven-sent opportunity.

But some were frowning; the commotion over there was truly unnerving.

As the saying goes, pulling one hair can move the whole body.

They didn’t think they could remain uninvolved.

It might even be a devastating disaster.

A new storm was brewing.

Some rushed straight to the hall.

Some advanced to higher heavens.

Some hesitated for a long time, eventually flying in the direction of Lin Ye and the others.

And some, after a moment of decision, seemed to have made a great resolve, returned the way they came, and rushed towards the exit without stopping.

People of all kinds made different decisions, and their futures would therefore be different.

........

The Cloud Crane wept.

When Lin Ye arrived, he found the Seventy-two Demon God Pillars gathered, fighting in a chaotic battle with the Nine Great Sacred Beasts.

The Seventy-two Demon God Pillars shimmered with different lights; some demon god pillars without demon gods also provided power to other demon gods.

Within the demon gods, carefully nurtured legions continuously provided them with power; every demon god was no less than a Venerable.

The leading demon gods, Baal and others, were even more terrifying.

They themselves were top-tier Venerables, plus the demon god pillars, the power of the legions...

This, then, was the demons’ foundation?

Lin Ye watched this scene in shock.

No wonder the Seventy-Two Demon Gods, though none possessed an True Word Skill-level demon god, were still considered the greatest threat by the celestial realm.

This combined power had already surpassed human capability; it was the will of heaven, the ultimate manifestation of the world’s will.

“abyss will.”

Lin Ye stated decisively.

On Baal and the others, the abyss will had awakened.

“Do the demons want to annex the Battlefield of the Gods?”

Lin Ye wondered.

The Battlefield of the Gods was on par with the Star Realm and the Universe in terms of status.

They were all unique, independent planes.

The Star Realm was the most mature, having bred countless Great Worlds and billions of Small Worlds within it.

The Universe was second, not yet having bred multiple worlds, but it was constantly evolving, constantly expanding, giving birth to countless galaxy clusters, and eventually, it might also evolve into multiple worlds.

The Chaos Battlefield was the least, with attribute energies not yet mixed, each occupying one side, belonging to the lowest plane.

But even so, its status was still very high.

Once annexed, the Abyss could become independent from the Star Realm, becoming a newly promoted plane.

This method was only feasible for the Abyss.

The wills of other Great Worlds and Small Worlds were too weak to conceive such an idea.

And the celestial realm’s biological children—the angels—were suppressed by the gods.

The gods and the celestial realm will were not in sync, so such an idea could not possibly be born.

He simply couldn’t command the gods.

Only the Abyss, with its biological children, the demons, occupying the entire Hell, possessing immense power, and being in line with its will, could plan this operation.

Unbeknownst to them, a new storm had emerged.

Facing this grand tide, Lin Ye felt lost.

The current struggle was not something he could participate in.

How could he, who, even with Vega and numerous legions combined, was only close to the Supreme level, face a battle where even True Word Skill-level powerhouses would perish?

That’s right, that Cloud Crane had fallen!
