86: Junk Planet Rescue

The Three-Eyed Clan possesses exceptional insight; their large eyes are not merely for show, and their intellect is superior, making them adept at deduction.

The Long-Nosed Race is incredibly skilled at scent collection.

And their strength is incredibly unscientific.

Scent itself is a sensation produced when volatile substances release gaseous molecules that spread into the air and are captured by olfactory organs.

The Garbage Star has no air, so logically, strong olfaction shouldn't be very useful.

But the unscientific aspect of the Long-Nosed Race lies here: they can spread a special factor that adheres to object surfaces, collects olfactory scents, and then transmits them to the brain.

This range is not small; it is said to reach several kilometers.

This race is truly at the forefront of olfactory evolution.

Fortunately, they are inherently weak, with ridiculously low individual combat power, and usually depend on other races.

Due to their unique nature and scarcity, they are highly sought after by various races in the universe; even if not directly used, they are valuable for research.

Human factions also have some Long-Nosed Race members, but unfortunately, they are not Fifth-Order, so they cannot be deployed for this mission.

The competition officially began.

Wearing their armor and oxygen equipment, the two teams were dropped onto Garbage Star X526 by spacecraft.

Upon deployment, they immediately acted according to their pre-arranged plans.

Lin Ye activated Starlight Miles, using Escape Void's concealment effect to hide his aura.

He was operating alone.

His other teammates formed groups based on their roles.

This planet was covered in garbage.

Discarded electronics, daily necessities, and other items were everywhere, forming mountains of trash.

Some recently deployed items had not yet been fully pulled down by the planet's gravity and were scattered in the sky above the planet.

Lin Ye discovered many creatures living there.

He also marveled at the tenacity of Life; this planet, clearly unsuitable for Life, had become a paradise for these lower-level creatures due to the dumping of garbage.

In such a garbage-strewn environment, searching is extremely difficult.

There are obstructions everywhere, and general detection methods are severely hampered by the interference from the garbage.

The competition organizers also restricted the use of advanced technological means for exploration, which was truly ingenious.

Fortunately, Lin Ye had Star Eyes.

His detection was like having X-ray vision.

Now, the only thing blocking him was the element of luck.

The Garbage Star was so vast.

After searching one area, he opened his optical computer and sent a message.

"Area 12 searched and cleared."

His other teammates were all shocked; was this the speed of a big shot? Incredible.

By the time Lin Ye was searching the fourth area, his teammates had only just finished searching the first area.

"Area 3 clear."

"Area 4 searched and cleared."

"Area 2 clear."

...

This was destined to be a long process.

Rescue missions were just that unreliable.

If their luck was bad, and they were accidentally discovered by the Red Skull space pirates during the search and rescue, the difficulty of the rescue would instantly increase.

Fortunately, the pirates in this mission were a weakened version, and like them, their equipment was incomplete.

Otherwise, with technological superiority, they would have been discovered the moment they arrived on the planet.

Lin Ye felt the difficulty faced by the search and rescue personnel.

They had been searching for two days, and they had only explored less than a fifth of the Garbage Star.

"Oh? It's a contestant from the Oka Clan."

Lin Ye finally found a pleasant surprise in his Star Eyes' field of vision.

He stealthily approached.

Although the competition did not allow the two teams to fight, testing their search and rescue capabilities, it did not prohibit stealing information.

This was a three-person team.

Since most of the Oka People warriors had been eliminated, they were composed of non-Oka People.

After observing for a while, Lin Ye quickly lost interest.

This was a team of rookies, not core Oka People members.

Their core team should be the one with the Three-Eyed Clan and Long-Nosed Race members.

Just as he was about to leave, he suddenly stopped.

Why should he painstakingly search himself?

That would be too foolish, relying on luck against the Oka People's team.

Who could guarantee better luck than the other side?

Why not rely on his excellent stealth ability to track them?

When the Oka People find the target,

they would definitely summon their team.

Rescue requires gathering all of one's strength.

He only needed to follow behind them to obtain the target's information.

If their Mohe Clan team found the target, then they would just gather at that time, wouldn't they?

Perfect.

Of course, this greatly tested his stealth ability.

Hiding behind others, could he be sure he wouldn't be discovered? If he were discovered, and the opponent used him to divert and delay, while others took action, wouldn't he fall into their trap?

However, Lin Ye was very confident in his stealth ability.

So he quietly followed them.

...

"Shameless scoundrel, how could he be so shameless?"

"What are you three doing? You can't even track an enemy, you idiots."

"I'm so angry, three good-for-nothings."

"I have never seen such a shameless person."

The audience outside, seeing this scene, and with the explanation from smart people, everyone understood Lin Ye's intention.

The Oka Clan side was practically fuming.

How could this dog play the game like this?

Meanwhile, the Mohe Clan side applauded in admiration.

"He's truly shameless, but I like it."

"Hahaha, those three are like blockheads, dunderheads."

"That mischievous Lin Ye is also quite cute."

The Mohe Clan's higher-ups were also greatly relieved.

"Lin Ye had brought this up during the tactical discussion, but I rejected it because I was afraid his stealth ability wasn't enough to avoid detection. I didn't expect that I still underestimated this genius."

"It's truly a blessing for our Mohe Clan; with this human genius's support, we've got this in the bag."

"Karl, don't jinx it. If Lin Ye loses, I'm not done with you."

"Slip of the tongue, slip of the tongue."

...

Lin Ye leisurely trailed behind the three-person team.

Indeed, this way, not only was he not anxious, but he also had much less to do.

If he were searching by himself, he would be worried about this and that, afraid of being preempted by the opponent, but now it was much more stable.

He also didn't have to painstakingly search everywhere, and while searching, he still had to pay attention to stealth issues. He just needed to follow from a distance and catch up after they finished searching.

Lin Ye even had plenty of free time to admire the beauty of the starry sky and the Garbage Star.

His teammates, seeing that Lin Ye hadn't sent any messages for a long time, all inquired.

"Lord Lin Ye, have you found something?"

"What's wrong with Lord Lin Ye?"

Lin Ye ignored them, not planning to tell them.

He sent a message saying he had other plans and offered no further explanation.

The others trusted him greatly and did not ask further.

Actually, Lin Ye could have told them his plan, but what if they accidentally revealed it?

Although everyone present was talented, elite, and highly loyal, there were many ways to extract secrets, not just by having someone speak directly.

Although that possibility was minuscule, given that this was a competition and many methods couldn't be used, Lin Ye still chose not to reveal it to prevent such a possibility.
