423: Warning Line

“We should stand with Hell. How can we, as Heaven, be even less trustworthy than them?” A deity angrily slammed his hand on the table, his voice filled with strong dissatisfaction.

“Warfare is the art of deception. Those who don’t understand, please leave first.” Another deity calmly responded, a glint of wisdom in his eyes.

“The strategy isn’t wrong, but why have we not deployed troops? We’ve missed the best opportunities.” Yet another deity frowned slightly, clearly not understanding the God King’s intentions.

“God King, what exactly is the situation?” The deities all looked towards the God King seated on the high throne, hoping for an answer.

“Could there be some inside information? Then the universe might have a way to counter us.” A deity offered a guess, and the others immediately began to discuss amongst themselves.

“Now that you mention it, I believe it. The God King must know something we don’t.” Another deity echoed.

In the Hall of Gods, the deities were fiercely discussing a grand plan for ten thousand years.

Opinions varied; some advocated for deploying troops, while others believed they should wait for a better opportunity.

However, regardless of their stance, they were all puzzled by the God King’s prolonged indecision.

The radical deities were eager to deploy troops, but too many opportunities had been missed, leaving them bewildered as to why.

The conservative deities believed in cautious action, yet they couldn't comprehend why the caution extended to not deploying troops even after the War between the devils and the universe had concluded.

And the high and mighty War God King remained silent, revealing no information about his decision.

After Wisdom God King was sanctioned, the unrest in Heaven did not subside, so the five God Kings immediately dispatched War God King to decide everything and preside over the overall situation.

But War God King now had unspeakable difficulties.

The Angel Clan was completely disappointed in the deities.

Yes, the root of all problems lay here.

Originally, punishing Wisdom God King would appease them, but who would have thought...

“Wisdom, we need to impose some punishment to give an explanation to the outside world.”

“I know, this clone is for that purpose.”

“Hmm, and then you can retreat behind the scenes to strategize.”

The God Kings discussed.

.........

“War God King, has Wisdom God King truly been punished?” Angel God Lucy proactively sought out War God King to inquire.

“That’s right, my child, he has been punished, sealed in the Highest Hall to suffer divine retribution.” War God King silently activated a shielding function, blocking the Angel Clan’s terrifying ability to perceive good and evil.

“Thank you, God Kings, for upholding justice.” Lucy seemed very happy.

“Then, God King, what do you need us Angels to do in the upcoming War?”

“Prepare for War. The Angel Clan will be the biggest winner in this War.” War God King made a false promise.

Lucy’s expression suddenly froze.

She gave him a deep look, then withdrew.

Subsequently, the Angel Clan launched an independence movement.

.........

“Damn it, I was so used to making false promises back then, and I didn’t turn off the shielding. Lucy detected it.”

War God King thought of the scene at that time, still full of regret.

Lucy had become smarter.

Lucy, possessing the ability to perceive good and evil, perceived that War God King was correct when he made the false promise.

She instantly realized something was wrong; the God King was activating a shield.

He was deceiving her.

No matter what War they participated in, the Angel Clan was never the winner; they suffered the most losses and gained the least. War God King was clearly boasting.

Lucy knew that War God King was deceiving her.

Wisdom God King had not been punished; they were all in it together.

Angry, she did not immediately turn hostile. Instead, after returning, she quietly united the various forces of the Angel Clan, initiating a freedom struggle unprecedented in the Angel Clan’s history.

“This Lucy is usually so reckless, but why was she so meticulous at that moment?” War God King was still regretting it now.

His authority lay in War; he was proficient in War but not adept at handling political issues.

In his opinion, such internal strife should be directly suppressed with bloodshed.

But this method had been used several times, leading to the Angel Clan’s generational break.

Suppression did occur, but Heaven’s power was also weakened to the extreme.

The War where the devils invaded was precisely due to this.

The Angel Clan was stubborn; once they resisted, they would fight to the last person.

Now he faced a dilemma.

Deal with the Angel Clan, once again interrupting their awakening.

But the consequence would be a void in Heaven’s power.

Appease the Angel Clan, make some concessions to them.

But this would be accompanied by exorbitant demands, the Angel Clan’s distrust, and so on.

“Why hasn’t that guy Wisdom given me a clever plan yet? What is he doing?”

War God King looked at the squabbling deities, his thoughts drifting far away.

.........

Wisdom God King, nominally punished and imprisoned, was currently strolling through the Angel Clan’s Holy City, which was the true sacred land of the Angel Clan.

His identity concealed, he now appeared as a simple and benevolent old man.

“The Angel’s power level has reached the warning line again. These years, I’ve been busy planning for the universe, but I haven’t been able to deal with the Angel problem in time.” He muttered softly, a hint of imperceptible indifference flashing in his eyes. But soon, that trace of indifference was covered by a benevolent expression.

His purpose in coming to the Angel Clan this time was to thoroughly investigate the Angel’s population structure.

According to a set of laws he had calculated, if the Angel’s power exceeded a certain limit, they would no longer be content with their “enslaved” status.

Although the Angel Clan was known for its strength, beauty, and arrogance, becoming synonymous with Heaven, in reality, they were merely loyal pawns of the deities.

“Power imbalance, insufficient control, no wonder this freedom War was triggered. Restarting is too late; now is a chaotic era.” He whispered softly.

Countless Angels passed by him, but they seemed not to hear his voice, busying themselves with their own affairs.

He secretly regretted, “Damn it, I should have thought of it earlier. Lucy’s strength has already reached the peak of a deity. Isn’t this a sign of the Angel Clan’s power expanding?”

He sighed and shook his head helplessly, realizing he had been somewhat negligent in this matter. However, it was too late to regret now; he had to find a solution to this problem as soon as possible.

He looked up, casting his gaze towards the most magnificent statue in the Holy City—Lucy’s statue. This statue soared into the clouds, majestic and grand, attracting many Angels to come and worship.

These Angels knelt devoutly before the statue, praying and confiding, hoping to receive the God’s blessing and guidance. As time passed, this statue also seemed to gradually become extraordinary, emitting a mysterious and powerful aura that made people involuntarily captivated.
