9: Star Power Training Supplement

Soon, the contract was signed, and Lin Ye, carrying his copy of the contract, was led to the dormitory; he would be training at Prosperity for the next two months.

After he put his things away, Jiang Xiaoyu took Lin Ye to eat before leaving, instructing him before he left, “Train hard these two months. If you need anything, log into the company’s mall to purchase it. If you want to go anywhere, just download an internal company map and let your light brain guide you. Your brother has an urgent matter, so I’ll be leaving first.”

Before leaving, he patted Lin Ye’s shoulder.

Lin Ye said he would cultivate diligently and told him not to worry.

Looking at Jiang Xiaoyu’s retreating figure, he always felt that the urgent matter Jiang Xiaoyu mentioned was not a proper one.

Returning to the dormitory, Lin Ye downloaded a company map. After a glance, he felt it was truly vast, but most areas had nothing to do with him. His main activity areas were still the training grounds in the club area and the dormitory area, with the cafeteria right next to the dorms.

Opening the company mall, the items inside made him dizzy: goods, personal trainers, skill learning, ability seeds, body tempering methods, Star Power breathing methods, visualization methods (for magic-based professions to enhance spirit), and various other items.

Lin Ye found the Star Power supplement section, which contained various brands of Star Power supplements, big and small, also categorized by grade and profession.

Lin Ye purchased a set of supplements for a first-tier Martial Artist.

The body’s absorption of Star Power is limited each day, and supplements can help cells quickly digest and absorb Star Power, as well as increase the absorption amount.

In the early stages, everyone’s cultivation method levels were low, as they would switch to profession-specific cultivation methods after reaching the second tier. So, except for the wealthy, no one deliberately increased the proficiency of their initial cultivation method. It was also difficult to increase, as one could only circulate it for about ten minutes a day.

Therefore, the existence of supplements became crucial.

However, supplements were truly expensive; just one month’s worth of supplements cost a hundred thousand. And this was for the first tier. Lin Ye calculated that a fourth-tier professional player’s annual supplements would cost twenty million, but apparently, professional players were provided with supplements by their clubs, so they didn’t have to worry about it, otherwise, their salaries wouldn’t be enough.

Moreover, Prosperity itself could produce supplements, and the profit margin for supplements was very large, with production costs less than thirty percent of the selling price.

After browsing a bit more, Lin Ye decided to take two personal trainer sessions a day to train Force Emission. He chose a professional player within the group who had reached the grandmaster level. Taking on private work was not allowed for professionals, but it was fine within the group, and there were stipulated times to ensure it didn’t affect training.

Lei Li, a fifth-tier Martial Artist and the only Martial Artist in the club, had uploaded his availability for private work a long time ago, but no one had contacted him. This was unavoidable; rare professions indeed had strong combat power, but there were very few people, and they weren’t allowed to take on private work. Most of Prosperity Group’s employees were office workers, and private coaching demand was mostly from the club’s youth training section.

Lei Li, one of Prosperity’s main players, stopped his training when he suddenly received a message on his light brain. He was overjoyed to find that someone had requested him as a private trainer.

“Oh my, someone finally asked me to be a private trainer! Hehe, this extra income is timely; Xiao Ling’s birthday is coming up, and I’ve been worried recently.”

Zhao Wenlong, a Flame Mage and one of his fellow main players, rolled his eyes at him. “Lei Li, it’s not that I’m telling you off, but simps don’t end well. Xiao Ling approaches you with a strong ulterior motive, coming for your professional player status. You really need to be more careful.”

Lei Li was somewhat unconvinced. “Xiao Ling and I have true love.”

Wang Mengmeng, the good-natured Supporter next to them, quickly smoothed things over. “Ah, yes, yes, I believe it too. Brother Lei, you said someone requested you for a job? Did a new Martial Artist join the club?”

His words attracted everyone else: five main players and two substitutes.

“A new Martial Artist finally came! I can’t stand Lei Li anymore, hurry up and replace him.” Chen Ou, the team captain and a sixth-tier Colossus, joked, putting his arm around Lei Li with a mischievous grin.

“Lei Li, quickly check the kid’s information. Private coaching requests like ours, from within the company, should show basic information.” This was Bai Zhiqing, the vice-captain and another Mage in the team, a sixth-tier Storm’s Fury.

“Alright, let me see. Lin Ye, 17 years old, first-tier, Martial Artist. What? Proficient in advanced Star Force and proficient in intermediate Force Emission? He just graduated from high school, right? Wow, his talent is so strong.”

The others gathered around. Having a Martial Artist teammate, they naturally understood how difficult it was to cultivate a Martial Artist. Lei Li’s Star Force was only at the minor accomplishment level.

“Lei Li, you’re going to be unemployed. Just let me take over, heh heh, I finally waited for my chance.” Zhao Kun, a fifth-tier Shadow and a substitute, wrapped his arms around Lei Li’s waist from behind, chuckling strangely.

Lei Li’s hairs instantly stood on end. “Get lost, get lost, you perverted guy, stay away from me, I don’t do that. He’s still far off; he’ll probably need another two or three years before he can play in the minor league. By the time he reaches the first team, I’ll have retired. You, kid, watch out, don’t end up still being a substitute.”

Lin Ye was unaware of Prosperity’s first team’s reactions. He had already begun training in a private training room with complete facilities. Lin Ye was currently using equipment to correct his Force Emission, and surprisingly, it was effective. He could clearly feel his progress.

He had already taken the Star Power supplements, and he had to admit they were indeed effective. He was confident he could break through to the second tier within a month.

Around six in the afternoon, the personal trainer arrived. Lin Ye noticed he was a simple, honest-looking man with thick eyebrows and large eyes.

He looked like an honest person, Lin Ye thought to himself.

“You must be Lin Ye. Hello, I’m Lei Li, your personal trainer.” Lei Li extended his hand with a smile.

“Hello, Mr. Lei Li, I’m Lin Ye.” Lin Ye shook his hand.

“Just call me Brother Lei. I’m only twenty-nine. Let’s start now.”

“Okay, Brother Lei.”

Lei Li began to instruct Lin Ye, first explaining, then correcting his movements, and then personally circulating Force Emission several times within Lin Ye’s body.

Lin Ye felt that cultivation had never been so simple. He could feel that just these few moments had increased his Force Emission proficiency by several points.

“Is this what it feels like to pay to win? It’s too awesome.” Lin Ye was incredibly excited. Aside from cheating with stat points, he had never felt so good.

While instructing him, Lei Li also observed him. He had an ordinary appearance but was very diligent, and his talent was truly exaggerated. He wondered what he ate to grow up so fast in Star Force cultivation.

He knew how difficult it was to cultivate the Star Force ability; his own was only at the minor accomplishment level. This kid wouldn’t catch up to him this holiday, would he? Oh no, I need to train extra when I go back.

Soon, the private training session was over. Each session was an hour long, and it was already past eight o’clock when it ended.

Lei Li invited Lin Ye to eat together, and Lin Ye readily accepted. He had a great impression of Lei Li, this older brother, feeling that he was both mature and steady, even more reliable than his teacher, Jiang Xiaoyu.

The two conversed happily. Both were Martial Artists and both were workaholics, so they had plenty of topics. During their conversation, Lei Li also began to suggest that Lin Ye watch more professional match videos and learn more about other professions.

Lin Ye readily agreed. His previous self was busy with studies and had no time for these, but now time was not as pressing. Watching more would indeed be very beneficial for future combat.

He was only a first-tier now and didn’t need to get involved in combat so much, but after reaching the second tier, he would need to start cultivating his combat talent.

No matter how well one practiced ability skills, it would be useless without good combat awareness.
