341: Devil's Duel Arena
Lin Ye looked at the Cunning Demon in front of him, wondering if this kid could read minds.
Seeing Lin Ye look his way, the Cunning Demon puffed out his chest and raised his head, presenting his best side to Lin Ye.
"Good fellow, this kid is talented," Hu teased.
With this momentum, he would probably encounter a powerful individual who would be pleased by his flattery and take him away sooner or later.
However, Lin Ye naturally wouldn't take him away; he wasn't a Demon.
After getting the news about the teleportation array, Lin Ye left alone.
The Cunning Demon was initially a bit disappointed, but was immediately replaced by excitement.
"Did you see that? I actually chatted and laughed with a Demon King, and it was the Abyssal Dragon Demon, known for his brutality!"
"From now on, I'm also a Demon who has dealt with a Demon King."
This experience would likely leave a deep impression on his Demonic life.
Of course, it was mostly for bragging rights.
........
Griezmann City.
One of Osai's 31 main cities.
It was under the control of the Sword Demon God, Alfred.
As the leader of the powerful and rare Sword Demon race, his strength was self-evident.
Lin Ye was somewhat surprised and uncertain when he inquired about this.
Because that Duel Arena was the Sword Demon God's place of amusement.
"Hu, do you have any impression of this Sword Demon God?" Lin Ye hesitated, deciding to ask the old relic first.
"I really don't know about this one. The lords of Demon City change constantly; the strong rise to power," Hu said.
He had been dormant for too long; who knew what had happened during that time?
"Then this trip seems to carry some risk." Lin Ye's brow furrowed imperceptibly.
The Demons around were not as short-sighted as those in Lula City, so while they were surprised to see an Abyssal Dragon Demon, they didn't gather to watch.
"That's hard to say, but actually, you're being too narrow-minded. There are many powerful individuals from other places who come to Demon City. It's said that some city lords aren't even from the Demon Clan," Hu said.
"Oh? How so?"
"Demons respect strength. Otherwise, the Great Wizard wouldn't like Hell so much. Compared to those guys in the Celestial Realm, the Great Wizard prefers Hell," Hu said.
Are you sure the Great Wizard isn't lusting after succubi? Lin Ye internally complained, looking at the Great Wizard's uninhibited life, it was highly likely.
"What kind of look is that?" Hu, as an old guy, had strong perception.
"Nothing."
Lin Ye naturally wouldn't reveal his true thoughts, although he felt that even if he did, Hu would probably just nod proudly.
Lin Ye arrived at the Demon Duel Arena. The air here was filled with a decaying and evil aura, and the ground was covered with cracks and white bones. High obsidian walls surrounded it, emitting a cold light.
In the center of the Demon Duel Arena was a massive circular stone platform, inscribed with mysterious runes and patterns. Surrounding the platform were towering grandstands, encircling a crowd of Demons of various shapes and distorted faces. They held terrifying weapons, their eyes gleaming with greed and killing intent.
At both ends of the stone platform stood two powerful Demons, the protagonists of this duel. One was a tall Demon clad in black armor, his wings spread, exuding a powerful dark aura. The other was a Demon engulfed in flames, his eyes revealing endless rage.
With a roar, the duel began. The two Demons instantly charged at each other, their weapons clashing in the air, emitting sharp sounds. Black flames and red lightning intertwined in the air, forming a dazzling yet deadly battle scene.
Blood splattered, and Demon limbs flew everywhere.
But the Demons in the grandstands grew even more frenzied, venting their desires with vulgar Demonic language.
"It's just an ordinary match, yet it features Demon King level experts."
The rules of this Duel Arena were simple, primitive.
After leaving your designation, you would be matched with an evenly matched opponent based on your strength and win rate. Once the time was set, you would be notified to prepare.
Because the Duel Arena was so popular, battles never stopped.
From Demon Gods down to High Demons, all could participate in this grand event.
"The Demon Duel Arena adopts a progressive reward system based on victories. Based on strength, there are basic rewards, and consecutive win rewards will gradually double. Lin Ye, this is the best way to accumulate initial wealth," Hu instigated.
Lin Ye nodded. His transcendent combat power was the best capital in this place.
This winning streak was most effective only the first time; it was difficult to win again. The Demon Duel Arena, having figured out your strength, would match you with very strong opponents, making it impossible to continue a winning streak.
Unless you made rapid progress.
Surpassing yourself in a short period.
But that was basically impossible.
"Sign me up." Lin Ye came to the participant entrance.
"Sir, please provide your codename and rank." A Strength Demon was on duty at the entrance.
"Dragon Demon, Demon King peak." Lin Ye was concise, doing his best to maintain his alias's aloof persona.
If an Abyssal Dragon Demon were enthusiastic, it would make others feel strange.
"Alright, I'll match you with an opponent right away. Sir, you're lucky; you don't even have to wait; you've been instantly matched. The time is in three days."
Lin Ye nodded, then left.
Three days was but a flick of a finger to him now.
During these three days, watching the matches at the Demon Duel Arena also allowed him to witness many Demonic tactics.
Bloodline power, racial talents, professional abilities, learned skills, and so on.
This made Demons too varied.
You never knew what abilities the next Demon you encountered would specialize in.
Even if he looked exactly like the previous one.
"Lin Ye, what do you say? These Demonic abilities are very rare; you can draw a lot of inspiration from them."
Even Hu, despite his vast knowledge, was watching with relish.
Although it was a bit bloody and the Death rate was high, putting those aside, the quality of the Demon Duel Arena matches was extremely high.
Fixed matches? Non-existent.
What if someone killed you if you tried to fix a match?
"Indeed, I've already had a lot of inspiration," Lin Ye's eyes were like torches.
This place was too good; he even regretted coming too late.
Now, apart from issues concerning laws, the most crucial thing was to nurture his own Dao.
If the Dao was unclear, the path would be uneven.
For Lin Ye, this was just a matter of effort, but the Duel Arena could save him a lot of time.
"Dragon Demon VS Great Snake."
The Demonic voice echoed throughout the Duel Arena.
It was his turn?
Lin Ye crossed his arms, and with a flap of his wings, a strong wind erupted, and he instantly appeared in the Duel Arena.
"This Dragon Demon is actually an Abyssal Dragon Demon; there's a good show to watch."
"The Great Snake is considered an old-timer in the Duel Arena, right? I was wondering why they sent a newcomer to duel him. So it's an Abyssal Dragon Demon, then it's fine."
"There's a good show to watch."
On the other side, an Eight-Armed Snake Demon entered the arena.
The Snake Demon clan was vast in number, being the direct lineage of the Snake Demon God.
Although the Snake Demon God was the last of the Seventy-Two Demon Gods, he was still renowned.
Their clan's abilities were also incredibly varied.
