280: Drow Strikes Back
“You did an excellent job, little Yunai.”
The Spider Queen’s face revealed a satisfied smile, expressing her appreciation for Drow Yunai without reservation.
Standing nearby, the Elf Princess—oh no, now she should be called Drow Yunai—humbly responded, “This is all within my duties. To bring joy to the great Lord Lolth is my greatest honor.”
A hint of mischief flashed in the Spider Queen’s eyes as she chuckled, “That fool didn’t suspect you at all until the very last moment.”
She rarely encountered such blindly loyal individuals.
As the transformation ritual continued, Deas’s body gradually changed, eventually transforming completely into a Drow.
The Spider Queen’s transformation was no ordinary method; it utilized a deep transformation of the Origin Power, capable of completely changing the target from their inner self to their physical body into her follower. This skill, which forcibly alters another’s will and race, is extremely difficult to cast. Even Lolth, who is proficient in dark power and Soul Law, had to expend immense energy to complete it.
However, everything was worth it.
Deas, a core figure from the Elf Race, had now become a chess piece in her hands, and the role she could play was simply unimaginable.
“That wretched Aurora is probably still in the dark! After all, her strongest suits are magic and natural power.” Lolth dared to act rashly, clearly confident in her ability to block Aurora.
In fact, Elf Princess Yunai had already fallen three hundred years ago, successfully transformed by Lolth into a loyal follower. However, due to her immense value as a chess piece, the Spider Queen did not easily deploy her, saving her as a trump card for crucial moments.
During the first high-level census, Yunai fortunately escaped because she was not a high-level personnel; and by the second academy census, she cleverly avoided it again, as with the status of a Princess, ordinary people simply couldn’t pry into her academic performance.
The Princess going to school was a gesture of goodwill, and regular activities were not to be disturbed.
“It’s time to act.”
........
Lin Ye, due to his agreement with Aurora, recently stopped divining for others and instead began patrolling everywhere.
“Hello, Mr. Lin Ye.”
Of the two elves passing by, the visibly younger one proactively greeted him, while the other only nodded slightly.
“Hello to you too.”
Lin Ye recognized them; one was the Elf Princess, and the other was the Imperial Court Guardian.
“These two elves are truly beautiful. I don’t seem to have divined for them yet?” Lin Ye was filled with curiosity about the Destiny of this Princess and the Imperial Court Guardian.
Just as he was about to turn and look back, he was surprised to find that the two had already left.
“What a pity. If I could glimpse their Destiny, it would surely deepen my understanding of Destiny Law.”
As he continued to perform divinations, Lin Ye increasingly realized the benefits brought by the Destiny of those with prominent status and powerful strength. Just divining for one such individual probably had the effect of divining for hundreds of ordinary mortals.
He strolled leisurely, his Star Eyes shining brightly, with an extremely wide detection range. Although he couldn’t see through hidden Drow, activating his Star Eyes allowed him to easily spot those sneaky individuals.
Unconsciously, he had already completed a round of patrols.
“What a rich household, an Imperial Court built so grandly!” Lin Ye couldn’t help but complain. He secretly wondered just how vast this Imperial Court was.
After some calculation, Lin Ye was surprised to find that this Imperial Court was even larger than Blue Star! It was like a giant city, built around a lush, towering Elf Ancient Tree. This ancient tree was located in the very center of the Imperial Court, strictly protected, so much so that even someone as powerful as Lin Ye couldn’t easily approach it.
Within this Imperial Court, there were many important institutions. These included the Infant Nurturing Institute responsible for nurturing and caring for babies, the Ancient Tree Maintenance Bureau focused on maintaining the Ancient Tree’s health, and the Life Water Management Bureau which managed the Water of Life, among others. These institutions all worked closely around the mysterious Elf Ancient Tree, and many related departments were established for this purpose.
And in the outer part of the Imperial Court was the core of political power. Here, various government agencies, palaces, and deliberation halls converged, serving as the central area for decision-making and governance of the entire empire. Rulers discussed national affairs, formulated policies and regulations, and managed all aspects of this vast territory here.
This peculiar organizational structure also felt very novel to Lin Ye, as a political center built around an infant-nurturing Ancient Tree was indeed rare.
Boom ~
A huge explosion sounded.
Lin Ye followed the sound; it was at the center of the Imperial Court, the Elf Ancient Tree.
“Has the invasion begun?”
Lin Ye quickly reacted, opening a Wormhole and using the Meteor movement technique, transforming into a rapidly advancing meteor and speeding away—the Imperial Court had a Space Solidification Array, so he couldn’t use Wormhole travel.
For the first time since its creation, Meteor demonstrated its terror.
The surrounding guards, who were heading towards the Ancient Tree upon hearing the sound, only felt a streak of light flash past, and Lin Ye had already left them far behind.
“What was that?”
“Never mind that, quick support is what matters.”
.......
Yunai and Deas arrived at the Elf Ancient Tree, looking up as if they could feel the powerful aura it emitted. Surrounding elves maintaining it occasionally sprayed expensive potions.
Leveraging Deas’s special authority, the two successfully passed through multiple barriers and arrived beneath the Ancient Tree.
The light here was dim, yet a faint, refreshing fragrance permeated the air, full of the aura of Life and nature. Yunai and Deas exchanged glances, communicating silently.
“You go detonate, I’ll set up the teleportation array.”
“Alright.”
The two split up.
An earth-shattering explosion sounded. Flames splattered, smoke and dust filled the air, and the entire space trembled.
As the explosion gradually subsided and the smoke and dust cleared, a large, shattered hole appeared in the space before them. Through the opening, a scene of strange shimmering light could be seen inside.
On Deas’s side, an evil array, ignoring the Elf Imperial Court’s restrictions, began to operate, and figures filled with demonic energy appeared one after another.
They could enter the Elf Ancient Tree’s space by virtue of their authority, but the Ancient Tree’s internal space was stable and could not operate a teleportation array. So, they chose to activate a teleportation array, blast open the portal, occupy the Ancient Tree’s internal space, and then control the Ancient Tree.
“Is this the Elf Ancient Tree? Hehehehe.”
“Let’s have a big fight.”
“Destruction, my favorite game.”
Meanwhile, the surrounding guards were in disbelief that two important figures of the Elf Race had betrayed them, and they all charged forward.
