523: Closing remarks

Celebration for the completion!

The entire book is 1.072 million words long, spanning 248 days without a single day off or missed update.

At first, I just ran out of novels to read and wanted to write down my own ideas, so I just dove right in headlong.

The first 80,000 words were very cold; there were no readers or interactions. I only kept writing because I was enjoying the self-indulgence.

Then one day, hundreds of readers suddenly showed up.

I panicked.

People are actually reading my book?

The joy I felt at the time was beyond words.

What made me even happier was that readers started interacting with me; it was no longer just self-indulgence.

Once I had readers, I realized how many typos and plot holes I had made while writing for myself. I hurriedly went back to check, but the results weren't great, and it was the readers who helped me. I'd like to thank the enthusiastic readers who helped correct my mistakes here. ₍˄·͈༝·͈˄*₎◞ ̑̑

When I reached 100,000 words, the First Show came (I didn't know about Tomato's mechanics at the time).

About four thousand people showed up.

I was stunned.

Then I started searching everywhere: what should an author do?

What are Tomato's mechanics?

How do you write a good novel?

Only then did I learn about the 80,000-word verification and the 100,000-word First Show.

And then I realized how lucky it was for a complete newbie who knew nothing to dive in and get results.

So I started feeling a sense of responsibility; I had to at least be worthy of my readers.

Thus began 248 days of non-stop writing.

During this time, I almost gave up several times due to family, work, the novel's lack of success, and platform issues.

But whenever I thought of the supportive readers, I kept writing.

Thank you to Brother Long and Huang Yu, who have always supported me.

Also Bu Nian Chen Xing, Xiang Gu, Hao Yun, and others.

And Wu Xu Cheng Zhang, Bo, Chu Lai Zha Dao... there's just too much support from so many readers.

Earlier, when there were few comments, I could reply to each one, but as more people started reading, I couldn't keep up and could only reply to those who @-ed me.

The inspiration for the novel came from many books I've read.

From Qidian, Tomato, Qimao, Ciweimao, QQ Reading, Zongheng, Faloo, etc.

Of course, the one who influenced me the most was the author—I Eat Tomatoes.

He is my favorite author, and I've read many of his books several times.

The content of the novel is purely original, with no outline.

Don't say you don't know the plot; even I don't know what the plot of the next chapter will be.

I might only know an hour or two before you do. (*^▽^*)

I tried writing an outline, finished over 30,000 words of it, but as soon as I started writing, I changed the plot and had a new idea.

It's a common problem for newbies.

However, the general direction didn't deviate.

It was all in one direction—leveling up.

Any side plots in between served the purpose of leveling up.

I originally wanted to write a romance line, but considering I'm a 'single dog,' it would have felt too fake, so I didn't.

I'll try it in my next book (maybe).
