281: Fish Explosion Net
Common fish storm phenomena include Sardine storms, Pomfret storms, and barracuda storms.
Yang Qi and Bai Xue had encountered a "Sardine storm" once before.
Yao Shanshan felt as if she were dreaming, unable to believe what she was seeing.
The scene was simply too magnificent, too stunning.
Her eyes were filled with this brilliant torrent of life, and her heart was shattered by awe and wonder, utterly beyond shock.
Bai Xue, without hesitation, immediately picked up her professional camera to document this rare and breathtaking sight.
Yang Qi only lost himself for a moment before regaining his composure.
He deeply understood that opportunities like this were fleeting and would not come again!
He quickly ran to the freezer, pulled out a box of frozen bait, grabbed a knife, and chopped it up with a rapid 'papapa' sound.
The chopped fish pieces were scattered into the sea, clearly an attempt to keep the fish school around.
The fish immediately began to scramble wildly, and the commotion on the water's surface grew louder.
"Shanshan, come here and scatter some bait on the sea."
It wasn't until he had chopped up an entire box of frozen bait that Yang Qi roused the bewildered Yao Shanshan.
He then went to retrieve his fishing magical artifact, the "hand-thrown net."
"Damn it, if the harvest were here, it would be a huge haul!"
Yang Qi said with regret.
As his hand-thrown net perfectly entered the water, he distinctly felt that the pull on the net rope indicated over 800 jin.
One can imagine the joy of casting a net in a place where there are more fish than water.
"Xiao Xue, this is a rare opportunity, you must capture the entire process well."
Yao Shanshan called out to Bai Xue, and after throwing some fish pieces into the sea, she immediately went to help pull the ropes.
Bai Xue thought she was right; perhaps it would be difficult to encounter this opportunity again in the future. This material was too precious.
Seeing that Yao Shanshan had already run to Yang Qi to help, she began to focus on filming.
Under the tension of the ropes, the cast net quickly closed, forming a large bag. The net was packed tightly with Pomfret.
At this point, Yao Shanshan also pulled the crane arm over, and Yang Qi hooked the ropes onto it.
As the crane arm lifted, a net full of fish was hoisted onto the deck. The next moment, the deck was covered with lively, jumping Pomfret.
Yang Qi didn't bother with the Pomfret on the deck, found another angle, and cast his net again.
Bai Xue finally finished filming the entire fishing process, secured her camera on the tripod, and ran over to help clear the Pomfret from the deck.
The two women, wearing gloves and holding scissors, made a cut beneath the fish's gills and threw them into fish baskets.
Seeing Yang Qi starting to pull in another net, they both ran over to help again.
If the fish here were disturbed, they would cast the net on the other side, and then throw some more fish pieces after casting.
Due to the sheer size of the fish school, even after one net had just been cast, the fish below were not startled; instead, they continued to surface to fill the empty spaces.
Bai Xue and Yao Shanshan had no time to spare. They filled fish baskets with bled Pomfret, stacking them nearby.
Since there was no time to send them to the freezer, the baskets quickly became insufficient.
Later, they simply stopped using baskets and just threw the bled fish to one side. Gradually, they piled up into a mountain of fish.
Seeing Yang Qi about to pull in the net again, they ran over to help. With three people pulling the ropes, the speed increased significantly.
As another net full of Pomfret was unloaded, the deck was already piled high with fish.
"Husband, you continue. Shanshan, let's take the fish from the baskets to the freezer first."
Bai Xue said loudly.
About ten baskets of processed fish were taken by the two into the freezer and stored. Finally, some space was cleared on the deck.
However, it was quickly filled with fish again.
Next, Bai Xue bled the fish, and Yao Shanshan picked up the processed fish and put them into the baskets.
The three worked together like a team, yet also like an assembly line, greatly increasing their catch.
In this manner, the three chased the fish school, casting nets non-stop for over four hours. Even the human beast Yang Qi was so tired that he could barely lift his hands or straighten his back.
Even though Bai Xue and Yao Shanshan were utterly exhausted, they still wanted to try the hand-thrown net, hoping to catch more fish, as each additional fish meant another one or two thousand yuan.
However, they lacked the skill and were too tired. The net didn't open when thrown, but it did stun a few Pomfret.
Yang Qi genuinely didn't want to miss this once-in-a-century Pomfret storm and really wanted to continue fishing.
But his physical strength was severely depleted; his spirit was willing, but his body was weak.
When he cast the net for the last time, he felt as if his hands and back were about to break.
Bai Xue and Yao Shanshan were equally exhausted, constantly bending and squatting to cut, bleed, and pick up fish, and also having to take the processed fish to the freezer. And with every net hauled in, they had to help Yang Qi pull the net rope.
The two of them essentially did squats for four hours. And there were still many unprocessed fish piles on the deck.
Both gritted their teeth and persevered, later relying solely on sheer willpower.
Seeing Yang Qi collapse onto the pile of fish on the deck, unwilling to move.
Bai Xue gritted her teeth and went to the refrigerator again to get three cans of red bull, handed one to Yao Shanshan, and opened another to feed to Yang Qi.
Because she saw Yang Qi's hands constantly trembling, he no longer even had the strength to lift them.
"Xiao Xue, I've already had three bottles."
Yang Qi drank half and found it hard to drink more.
"Alright! Then rest for a bit."
Bai Xue finished the other half of the bottle; she couldn't drink any more either.
"Yang Qi, Xiao Xue, the fish school seems to be leaving again! Are we still going to chase them?"
Yao Shanshan asked, watching the fish school passing beneath the fishing boat.
"Forget it! The three of us only have this much capacity."
Yang Qi shook his head helplessly.
"Oh dear! What a pity, if only the harvest were here. Catching a hundred thousand jin would be easy."
Bai Xue also sighed helplessly.
Suddenly, Yao Shanshan, carrying a scoop net, walked to the aft deck and started scooping up fish. To her surprise, she actually managed to scoop up two.
She couldn't lift it, so she could only drag the scoop net into the fish entry opening.
"Hahaha, I dragged up two."
Yao Shanshan said to Yang Qi and the other as she dragged the scoop net back to the foredeck.
"You didn't just drag up two fish, did you? You dragged up five thousand yuan."
Yang Qi said with a smile.
"Hahaha!"
The group burst into laughter, but after this laughter, it was as if a ball had deflated. The two women couldn't stand anymore and collapsed directly beside Yang Qi.
"Too tired, let's rest for a bit. Then we'll deal with these fish!"
"Yes, let's all rest for a bit. Shanshan, I've decided to increase your commission to 10%."
Yang Qi said, looking at Yao Shanshan, who was so tired that she had lost all her composure, lying in the pile of fish.
This was what he and Bai Xue had decided after Yao Shanshan went to the aft deck to scoop fish.
He hadn't expected such a delicate beauty like Yao Shanshan to work so desperately.
Without her help, the harvest would definitely not have been this much.
