353: Big Blue Fat Man
In an instant, Yang Qi reeled back over three hundred meters of line. Only then did the Tuna seem to regain its senses.
Immediately after, it began to exert force again, making the line zip out with a "ceng ceng ceng" sound. Yang Qi had no choice but to give up, lowering the fishing rod once more and slightly loosening the drag again.
A Tuna of this size still possessed immense strength; even during its second wave of resistance, it was difficult to move by human power alone.
Yang Qi wasn't a stubborn person; there was no need to force it. He knew when to let go.
He turned to look at Yao Shanshan's side; she was handling her Tuna with ease, showing no problems at all. This young girl had made great progress after such a long period of practice.
The Tuna's second wave of power pulled out another six hundred meters. The total line out reached over a thousand meters again.
Seeing the speed of the line slowing down significantly, Yang Qi locked the drag once more and began to reel in manually.
By the time he had recovered five or six hundred meters, the Tuna exerted force again. Yang Qi could only loosen the drag once more, letting the big fish struggle against the Electric Reel.
Meanwhile, Yao Shanshan had already pulled the Tuna on her line near the gunwale. She picked up a Gaff and stabbed it fiercely, ending the Tuna's life with speed and precision.
With Yang Qi there, there was no need to use the Crane for an eighty-plus catty Tuna. He stepped forward in a few strides, gripped the Gaff, and with a surge of strength from both hands, lifted the Tuna onto the deck.
Without a word, Yao Shanshan quickly took a knife to bleed the Tuna and remove the lactic acid. Since she still had another big fish to catch, she had to hurry.
Yang Qi returned to his fishing spot to continue his dance with the Bluefin Tuna. Based on his experience, he estimated it would take a few more rounds.
After a while, Bai Xue and Wang Yan successively caught two Bigeye Tuna, each weighing around a hundred catties.
With the help of the Crane, the two of them easily hoisted the Tuna onto the deck. After Bai Xue processed the two Tuna, she went to help Yao Shanshan bring in her fish.
"Hubby, do you need help?"
"No need, you guys get Shanshan's fish up first."
At this moment, the Bluefin Tuna in Yang Qi's hands was being slowly pulled out of the water.
He also knew that as time dragged on, the blood flowing into the water from the Tuna would very likely attract sharks.
So he had Bai Xue help Yao Shanshan first. At the very least, a shark would have reservations upon seeing a five-hundred-plus catty Tuna.
"Wow, what a huge Bluefin Tuna! Hubby, you're amazing!"
Having just helped Yao Shanshan hoist up her hundred-plus catty Yellowfin Tuna, Bai Xue came to Yang Qi's side. She saw the round, deep-blue Bluefin Tuna lying on the surface of the sea.
"Hehehe, keep it down, keep it down!"
Yang Qi felt a bit of secret pride. Hearing the commotion, Wang Yan and Yao Shanshan also came over to check it out.
"What a huge Tuna! It's much bigger than me!"
Wang Yan exclaimed in surprise.
"Isn't it? It's heavier than three or four of you. It's probably around five hundred catties!"
Bai Xue laughed and said with certainty.
Yang Qi picked up the Gaff and, using all his strength, stabbed it fiercely into the Bluefin Tuna's head.
As the Tuna made its final struggle, water splashed everywhere. The few people standing a bit closer were even drenched by the spray.
The display on the Crane's boom showed that the weight of this Bluefin Tuna was 523 catties.
Although it didn't break Yang Qi's previous record of a 572-catty Bluefin Tuna, this weight was enough to crush the vast majority of Anglers.
More importantly, this Bluefin Tuna was fat enough—a real blue fatty. He believed it should be worth quite a lot of money.
The four of them quickly took a group photo with this giant Bluefin Tuna, then bled it and removed the lactic acid.
Just the bellies, livers, and kidneys of these few Tuna filled two large basins.
By the time Yang Qi was free, he noticed that as the blood stained the nearby seawater red, it really had attracted quite a few sharks.
As for that school of Balang Fish, they had long since disappeared. If they went to look for them now and could find them, as long as the school hadn't dived deep, they could definitely still catch big fish.
If they couldn't find them, it would be a waste of time.
Looking at the fishing boat, it was covered in bird droppings everywhere, polluted beyond recognition by the seabirds. He no longer had the heart to chase those schools of fish.
This is just too damn dirty!
Together, the four of them rinsed the five Tuna once more and then sent them all into the Freezer Hold.
Looking at the boat full of bird droppings, the four decided to wash the fishing boat first before changing their clothes. After all, everyone's sun-protective clothing was stained with bird droppings.
They had ignored it while catching the big fish, but now that they were free, they felt uncomfortable all over.
Yang Qi stopped Bai Xue from suggesting they lower the Electric Reel and fish while cleaning.
Because only he knew that there were actually six or seven sharks lingering nearby underwater.
"Let's clean first. I reckon the Tuna have moved far away with the school of fish. Let's finish cleaning quickly and find a place to go diving!"
"Alright then! We'll listen to you!"
So Yang Qi took out a high-pressure water gun and began to meticulously rinse every inch of the polluted areas.
"Finally finished!"
Yang Qi let out a long sigh of relief. While he wasn't a germaphobe, seeing a boat full of bird droppings was just too damn disgusting.
After the three women finished showering and changing, Bai Xue went to pilot the boat while Yao Shanshan and Wang Yan went to cook.
"Just drive wherever you want!"
Yang Qi then ran off to shower and change. Wearing clothes covered in bird droppings was truly too uncomfortable.
By the time lunch was ready, it was already past one in the afternoon. They let the fishing boat drift on the sea while the four sat down together to enjoy the meal.
Bai Xue had made Sea Eel braised with fermented black beans, adding plenty of ginger slices and yellow wine. Everyone's impression after tasting it was: fragrant, tender, and fresh.
"Delicious, this dish goes great with rice. We should make it often in the future."
Yang Qi praised while eating.
"Good, as long as you like it, I'll make it more often."
Yao Shanshan and Wang Yan looked at each other, both understanding the other's thought: 'Look at that! We've been fed another dose of dog food without even realizing it!'
"Look over there, is that a small island?"
Bai Xue pointed to a black dot in the distance to the front-right.
"It should be! Let's go see if we can go ashore and play. We might even be able to do some beachcombing."
Yang Qi and the others squinted their eyes to look. However, it was too far away to see anything clearly.
He stood up and started the fishing boat, heading in that direction.
With those five Tuna from the morning, plus a Live Well full of catch to back him up, he wasn't worried at all now.
Even if they returned home now, this catch could sell for over two million. This was the confidence that came from having 'grain in hand'.
Over an hour later, Yang Qi piloted the setting sail to the vicinity of this lonely island.
