435: Encountering Tuna Again
While several Tuna were still squabbling, the Bigeye Tuna not far from them pulled a dirty move. Without even a warning, it just charged straight towards that spot.
"What the hell is that guy doing, why's he suddenly running so fast?"
"Let's go, let's go, let's check it out. What if there's something good? Can't let that jerk take all the advantage."
The several Yellowfin Tuna, making a ruckus, followed after the Bigeye Tuna.
"Holy crap, so much delicious food! Is it all for me? Damn it, that guy's already eating!"
"Let go of that food, let me at it!"
"All of you, shut up! Eat slower, will you? I'm not there yet! You expect me to eat your leftovers?"
None of the four Tuna wanted to lose out. They all charged over in a frenzy, recklessly bumping into each other, constantly snatching the delicious food right in front of their mouths.
The Bigeye Tuna, which arrived first, was noticeably larger than the three Yellowfin Tuna. Seeing those three shamelessly following it to snatch food, it thought to itself,
"Good thing I came ahead, running at the front, I can eat more of the feast."
"I need to eat even faster, let them eat my dust. Hehehe."
The Bigeye Tuna sped up its eating while chuckling evilly.
"Ouch! What's hanging on this little thing? Why does it hurt so much?"
It instinctively shook its head, finding it still couldn't break free. Instead, it hurt even more. This damned thing! It immediately wanted to charge into the distance to deal with this annoying little pest.
"Damn it, my mouth hurts even more! What the hell is this thing? Why is it still digging in deeper? Watch me use brute force to make a miracle happen!"
At this moment, on the deck of the setting sail, Yang Qi, the instant the Tuna took the bait, set the hook with a powerful jerk.
As the Tuna struggled fiercely to escape, the hook dug deep into its mouth.
Yang Qi used one hand to forcefully crank the reel. Even though he had locked the drag switch, the reel was still slowly letting out line—roughly retrieving 10 meters only to have 20 meters pulled out next.
The fishing line sliced through the water's surface, emitting a
whirring
sound, zigzagging left and right.
Just as the two were locked in a stalemate, another Electric Reel also hooked a fish.
"Yellowfin Tuna!"
Yang Qi immediately pressed the retrieve switch on the Electric Reel. Then, he slightly loosened the drag on the rod in his hand and placed it firmly in a Rod Holder further away.
"Fish on!"
Another piece of good news came from Bai Xue's side.
In his Supernatural Ability vision, Yang Qi saw the last remaining Yellowfin Tuna finally realize something was wrong. Without looking back, it sped away into the distance.
Yang Qi first put on a Fighting Belt for himself, then helped Bai Xue put hers on as well. Only then did he return to his fishing spot, pull out the boat rock fishing rod, and begin fighting the fish.
He first locked the drag brake completely, assumed a horse stance, shook the rod left and right a few times, leaned his body back, and used one hand to forcefully crank the reel, retrieving line.
After nearly an hour of constant back-and-forth, this roughly 200-jin Bigeye Tuna was finally pulled to the surface.
"Honey, it's a Tuna! You're amazing!"
Bai Xue happened to see the Tuna lying on the water's surface, being pulled towards the gunwale. She immediately placed her own rod back in its Rod Holder and ran to operate the Crane.
By the time she returned, she found Yang Qi had already dispatched the Bigeye Tuna with a Gaff.
By now, a rope was even secured around the big fish's tail. The young couple worked together and soon hoisted the Tuna onto the deck.
Yang Qi picked up a knife and made a few quick cuts. There was no time for gutting and removing the entrails right now—there were still two more Tuna in the sea waiting for them.
The two returned to their fishing spots and continued fighting the fish.
This time, the first to surface was the Yellowfin Tuna Bai Xue had hooked, weighing around 150-some jin.
After helping Bai Xue hoist her Tuna onto the deck, Yang Qi went to deal with his own Yellowfin Tuna.
Over half an hour later, the three Tuna were fished out of the ice water and successively pushed into the Freezer Hold for storage.
Yang Qi took the high-pressure water hose and began washing the blood-stained deck. He also casually washed the various delicious-looking entrails and placed them in the Freezer Hold.
By the time the three Tuna were fully processed, it was already noon. This was only possible because both of them had great strength and rich experience.
Otherwise, they might have been at it until the afternoon.
After lunch, Yang Qi went to the bow and looked at the seabed below. There were some not-too-sharp rocky reefs, with sandy seabed basically all around.
The sandy seabed nearby was covered with quite a bit of seaweed, scattered sparsely in large and small patches, swaying with the ocean currents.
Small fish continuously darted among them during this time, many of which were species he didn't recognize.
"Xiaoxue, I'm planning to dive down and see what we can find on the seabed. Are you coming?"
Yang Qi asked Bai Xue beside him.
"Sure! I'll go too. I'll take some videos and photos while we're at it."
Bai Xue said happily with a smile.
"Alright, let's go! Change clothes first."
Although the water temperature in this area couldn't compare to their last time in the Korea Strait, relative to the South China Sea, it was still quite low.
Going into the water in just bikinis was definitely not an option. The two returned to the Rest Cabin, changed into wetsuits, put on their gear, and entered the sea.
Their Supernatural Ability gave them a high affinity with seawater. Even though the water temperature was quite low, both of them adapted very quickly.
As they descended to the seabed, small fish swam past them from time to time. But these little fish seemed completely unaware of fear, constantly swimming around the two of them.
Yang Qi took the camera and took a few photos of Bai Xue 'dancing' with the fish.
They didn't pay much attention to these small fish. They hadn't dived down to catch these fish, and besides, these fish were a bit too small.
What, catch them to make small fish potstickers back home? But with big fish to eat, why bother with small fish potstickers?
Besides, these small fish are plentiful near the shore. No need to come all the way out here to catch them.
The goals for this dive, besides having fun in the water, were the large Sea Conches near the rocky reefs and the Lobsters and Crabs hiding in the crevices.
The two then separated, each heading in a different direction, keeping within each other's line of sight.
Yang Qi soon spotted a Coconut Shell Snail and quickly swam over to it. He picked it up, examined it—about five jin—and casually placed it into his Net Bag.
Ever since obtaining a melo pearl once, whenever Yang Qi encountered a large Coconut Shell Snail, he would bring it home to open himself. But he had never found another melo pearl. The probability was indeed very low.
Actually, if he simply sold the Coconut Shell Snails to Chen Tianming, the price was quite good. Since Coconut Shell Snails couldn't be farmed, their price naturally remained relatively high.
Yang Qi soon found a second Coconut Shell Snail, and right next to it was a slightly smaller one.
