103: Hurry up and stop dawdling.
After this meeting, the club was officially operational.
Yu Heng wrote a detailed revenue distribution table, ensuring he could make money while not dampening the motivation of the others.
In the end, it worked out that they would receive much less than Bai Xinran, roughly a 40/60 split.
After all, he still had to rely on these people to create value, so he couldn't be too exploitative.
Bai Xinran withdrew the earnings from the past few days, and only then did he remember that Bilibili doesn't cover taxes!
A 20% tax had to be prepaid, so what they actually got was 40% of the gift revenue. This made Yu Heng's heart ache; out of 200,000 in revenue, less than 30,000 ended up in his hands.
The key was that Bilibili's guild system was still in the testing phase and not yet open for registration, so even getting a license would be useless.
It seemed the Virtual Streamer segment could only serve as a placeholder for now; to truly make a fortune, he'd have to wait for the platform's policies.
Or perhaps a direct contract with the platform? Given her current momentum, there should be an official signing invitation before long.
If Yu Heng wanted to ensure Bai Xinran remained under his control, he would first have to sign a proper management contract with her and then sign a tripartite agreement with the platform.
If she signed directly with the platform, he would be in too passive a position with just a cooperation agreement.
Unless he truly won her over and trained her to be completely submissive, doing whatever he said.
After thinking it over, Yu Heng decided to proceed on two fronts. He would keep laying the groundwork for the streaming section and accumulate skins first; these were the means of production for virtual streaming. With skins in hand, they could be monetized at any time, or at the very least, sold in bulk.
The video segment also needed attention. Bilibili had the Creator Incentive Program, and TikTok had Xingtu. It would be very profitable if he could build up a few IPs.
TikTok was currently recruiting MCN agencies to join. Companies like Gumai Jiahe, Dayu Network, and Fengqun Culture were already producing content on TikTok.
Early internet celebrities like Tu Ziya, Zhu Xiaohan, Qijiu Naoye, and Maomao Jie had already become popular. Even the later phenomenal IP Li Ziqi had been posting videos on TikTok for over a year by now.
The current strategy for short videos was simple: if you were good-looking and could sing or dance, or had some other talent, you could go viral even without pushing boundaries!
Yu Heng made a list of the people in the club and went through them one by one.
He needed to put these people in the club to use as soon as possible.
Ning Yutong had an absolute advantage in terms of her figure and a solid foundation in vocal music. The data feedback from that TikTok video proved that the "beauty route" was viable for her.
Shen Yueling couldn't be forced into being a Streamer, and filming videos would likely be difficult for her too. However, her aesthetic sense was on point, so she could work behind the scenes and handle the makeup and styling for those appearing on camera.
Among the new recruits... Chen Yuqiang was a talent with special skills.
Could he try having him cross-dress? Combined with his voice impersonation skills, the quality should be even higher than Ma Xiaotiao's two years from now, right?
Speaking of which, Ma Xiaotiao's hometown was Tang City. He could look for him later; his directing and editing skills were quite decent.
If Zhou Mengqi was good at ASMR, she would definitely have a steady audience on Bilibili. It depended on whether she could let loose; if she could, she would be the fastest to monetize.
The areas of expertise for the others overlapped to some extent, so he'd let Liu Hewei practice with their content positioning.
After sorting through everything, Yu Heng had a rough idea in mind.
——
It was a little after 4:00 PM on Friday, and there weren't many people left in the office building.
Yu Heng walked to the door of Qin Lu's office, knocked twice, and pushed the door open.
Qin Lu was sitting at her desk writing materials when she heard the sound and looked up.
Seeing it was Yu Heng, the pen in her hand paused.
"Why did you come in without knocking?" she asked, her eyes glancing toward the door.
"I did knock," Yu Heng replied, closing the door behind him and walking to her desk. "You just didn't hear it."
He pulled over the chair opposite her and sat down, resting his arm on the back of the chair.
Qin Lu put down her pen and leaned back slightly. "Do you have something for me?"
"I do," Yu Heng said, looking at her. "This weekend, I'm planning to take the club members to a Villa Party House for the night. It'll be an internal ice-breaking activity so everyone can get to know each other."
Qin Lu didn't respond, waiting for him to continue.
"It's voluntary, and the costs will be split," Yu Heng added.
It was only a little over a thousand for the night; he could have paid for it all, but there was no need. It wouldn't be too late to be generous once they were better acquainted.
Qin Lu narrowed her eyes. "If you're going, then go. Why tell me?"
"You have to go," Yu Heng said, leaning forward. "You have to lead the group."
"Me, lead the group?" Qin Lu frowned. "A bunch of students going out to play—what kind of group am I leading?"
"Well, what else?" Yu Heng laughed. "You're the club's faculty advisor. Students are staying overnight off-campus; aren't you going to accompany them?"
Qin Lu pursed her lips. These reasons were all nonsense, and she knew in her heart that Yu Heng just wanted her to go.
"Who's going?" she asked.
"I haven't tallied it yet, but probably about a dozen," Yu Heng said. "There are fewer guys and more girls; someone needs to keep an eye on things."
"Watch what?" she looked at him mischievously. "Watch so you don't misbehave?"
"Tsk, what could I possibly do?" Yu Heng walked over, pulled her up, and took her into his arms. "If I'm going to misbehave, it'll be with you!"
"Stop it! It's daytime!" Qin Lu scolded playfully, pushing him away. "When are you going?"
"We'll head over tomorrow afternoon, stay for the night, and come back Sunday at noon."
"What about Qin Ya?"
"Take her along. Since Bai Xinran is going too, she can join them. Consider it a vacation; she's been streaming for half a month straight." His fingers rubbed the back of her neck, and his voice turned a bit dry. "What time is the meeting?"
"2:00 PM at the school's west gate," Yu Heng said. "That Villa is in my neighborhood; we can just stroll over."
"Got it." Qin Lu pursed her lips. "If there's nothing else, hurry back."
"Why are you in such a hurry to shoo me away?" Yu Heng didn't budge. "I've been so busy this week that I've hardly seen you."
At this hour, there shouldn't be anyone left in the building. Of course, she understood what Yu Heng wanted to do.
"Don't act up here." Qin Lu lowered her voice, her eyes glancing at the door. "The door isn't even locked."
Yu Heng chuckled, walked over to lock the door, and then drew the curtains.
"You little rascal!" Qin Lu glared at him, but her gaze lacked any real sting. "Is this all you think about when you see me?"
"That's not my fault," Yu Heng said with an innocent look. "Who told you not to think about it yourself? If you won't, I will."
Hearing Yu Heng's complaint, she said on impulse, "Just once!"
Yu Heng grinned and looked at her. "On the chair?"
Qin Lu frowned. "No... this chair creaks as soon as it moves."
Yu Heng raised an eyebrow and looked around. The office wasn't large. He reached out and pushed the things on the desk aside. "Then right here."
"Then hurry up..." She sat on the desk and turned her face away. "Don't dally."
