124: Mature women are the best at reducing internal heat.

Qin Ya was on the second floor, and Bai Xinran was in the first-floor guest room. Both doors were closed.

The sound of a live broadcast faintly drifted from inside.

Qin Lu helped Yu Heng sit on the sofa, then turned to close the door.

"I'm thirsty." Yu Heng leaned back.

Qin Lu paused her movements, closed the door, walked to the kitchen, and poured a cup of warm water, handing it to him.

Yu Heng took it and drank a couple of sips, placing the cup on the coffee table. "Bring down the laptop from my room, please."

"What do you need the computer for?"

"Something came up." Yu Heng looked up at her. "It's upstairs, in the third-floor master bedroom."

Qin Lu looked at him, pursed her lips slightly, and turned to go upstairs.

She pushed open the master bedroom door; the room was very tidy.

The laptop was right on the bedside table, and the power cord was neatly coiled.

She picked up the computer and had just reached the first floor when Yu Heng said again, "Also, grab my phone charger for me."

"What else?" Qin Lu frowned. "Tell me everything at once!"

"That's all," Yu Heng suppressed a smile. "Thank you for your trouble, Mature Teacher."

"You're incorrigible!" Qin Lu had no choice but to turn back for the charger.

After she went upstairs, Yu Heng couldn't help but laugh openly. Qin Lu really was becoming more and more feminine when she acted like this.

Qin Lu placed the computer and charger on the coffee table. Just as she was about to straighten up, Yu Heng said again, "I need to use the restroom. Help me over there."

"Can't you hop over yourself?" Qin Lu squinted at him. "The restroom is right there, less than ten meters away."

"My foot hurts, and hopping makes it hurt even more." Yu Heng stated it as a matter of course. "Just help me."

He could hop over himself, but since Qin Lu was here, he definitely wanted her to go with him. Was this some kind of obedience test?

Qin Lu took a deep breath and reached out to help him stand up.

Yu Heng's arm rested on her shoulder again, his full weight leaning slightly onto her. Qin Lu steadied herself and supported him as they walked toward the first-floor restroom.

When they reached the doorway, Yu Heng didn't let go.

"Let go," Qin Lu said. "Why aren't you going in?"

"If I let go, I can't stand steady," Yu Heng said. "Help me inside."

Qin Lu frowned. "How can I go in with you while you use the restroom?"

"What's the big deal?" Yu Heng turned his head to look at her, lowering his voice slightly. "It's not like you haven't seen it before."

"Yu Heng, stop messing around." Qin Lu lowered her voice too. "Qin Ya and Bai Xinran are both here."

"They're streaming; they won't come out," Yu Heng said. "Hurry up, I can't hold it."

Qin Lu glared at him, hesitated for a moment, but still helped him into the restroom.

The space wasn't large; it felt crowded with two people inside.

Yu Heng leaned one hand on the edge of the sink, his other hand still resting on Qin Lu's shoulder.

"Stand still," she said, keeping her voice very low. "Hurry up."

"What's the rush?" Yu Heng's voice was right next to her ear. "Help me."

"Your foot is sprained, not your hand!" She tried to pull away. "Do it yourself!"

"I really can't," Yu Heng said. "My foot can't bear the weight, and I can't undo it with one hand."

He sounded convincing, and Qin Lu bit her lower lip.

"Just this once," she said.

Yu Heng smiled and didn't reply.

"Are you done?" she asked, her voice a little dry.

Yu Heng watched her ears turn bright red and her neck flush pink, yet her expression still stubbornly maintained its seriousness.

This contrast made him find her particularly amusing.

"Mm." Yu Heng said. "Thank you, Teacher!"

"Yu Heng!" Qin Lu pinched his arm. "Why aren't you calling me by my name now? You're doing this on purpose, aren't you?"

"Why are you getting angry?" Yu Heng said cheerfully. "I'm just respecting my teacher."

"Get out yourself!" Qin Lu pulled open the restroom door and left first. "I'm not helping you anymore!"

Yu Heng held onto the doorframe and hopped back to the sofa on one foot.

As he sat down, he deliberately let out a hiss of pain.

Qin Lu still couldn't help but turn around. "Did you hurt it again?"

"Yep," Yu Heng said. "But it's fine."

Qin Lu walked to the sofa and glanced at his ankle.

It was wrapped in bandages; she couldn't see anything clearly.

She hesitated, then sat down beside him, leaving enough space for one person between them.

"Getting injured while playing ball was due to a school activity," Qin Lu said. "It's reasonable for me to write you a few extra days on your sick leave note."

"That works, I could use the rest," Yu Heng leaned into the sofa. "But eating is going to be a problem."

"Why don't you order takeout?" Qin Lu asked.

"Takeout every day gets boring." Yu Heng tilted his head to look at her. "Can you cook?"

"You want me to cook for you?"

"Why not?" Yu Heng said. "Look at my foot. I definitely can't cook myself. Even though Bai Xinran is here tonight, she has to stream, so she can't look after me all the time."

"But I don't really know how to cook," Qin Lu said, frowning. "You should just order takeout."

"Take pity on me. If you can't cook, bring me food from the cafeteria. Eating too much takeout isn't healthy," Yu Heng said earnestly.

"Other people can do that, right?" Qin Lu narrowed her eyes at him. "There are plenty of others who worry about you."

After Qin Lu finished speaking, she averted her gaze from Yu Heng's face.

That remark tasted sour. When she realized this, her cheeks felt a little numb. Was she actually jealous of him?

Yu Heng stared at her, a half-smile curving his lips.

"What are you laughing at?" Qin Lu felt uncomfortable under his gaze.

"I'm laughing because you're cute," Yu Heng said.

"What nonsense are you talking about?" Qin Lu's face flushed. "You only say shameless things like that."

"They are them, and you are you," Yu Heng added. "I just want to eat the food you bring. Why do you care about others?"

When chatting with married mature women, you just need to be as cheesy as possible; they fall for that.

Although Qin Lu wasn't an ordinary married woman, the rule still applied.

Even the fiercest woman fears a persistent suitor; otherwise, Qin Lu wouldn't have been won over by him.

However, he didn't want Qin Lu to become too relaxed and intimate with him. A little distance was more interesting; what he liked was Qin Lu's contradictory, hard-to-get attitude.

If she were exactly like Bai Xinran, it would be boring.

Of course, everyone has their own personality, and there was little chance Qin Lu would ever become like Bai Xinran.

The way things were now was great. Although he had already "eaten," it was more fun when he had to put some effort into every time.

"Just for these few days. Tell me what you want to eat in advance," Qin Lu pursed her lips. "Once your foot is better, you'll have to figure it out yourself."

"Deal." Yu Heng's lips curved into a smile. "My foot still hurts a bit."

"What do you mean?" Qin Lu narrowed her eyes at him, sensing ill intent in his smile.

"Teacher, help me distract myself." His eyes held undisguised intention.

"Yu Heng," Qin Lu lowered her voice. "Qin Ya and Bai Xinran are both upstairs."

"So what?" Yu Heng said. "They won't come down."

"You really are..." Qin Lu glared at him. "You're still thinking about that kind of thing right now?"

"I'm young and full of vigor," Yu Heng said, a smile playing on his lips. "Mature women are the best fire extinguishers."

"Oh!" Qin Lu found Yu Heng's words embarrassing and scolded him shyly. "Yu Heng!"
