205: Chapter 199 The Rebellious Little Girl

Yu Heng watched Shen Yueling's emotions stabilize a bit, his fingers pressing against her waist again.

"Let's leave it at that for now. Think about what you're interested in and let me know anytime." He let go and pulled his phone out of his pants pocket.

Shen Yueling gave an 'en' in response and stood up to walk toward the bathroom. "I'm going to wash my face."

Yu Heng swiped the screen open, found Qin Lu's number, and dialed it.

The phone rang a few times before being picked up.

"Hello?" Qin Lu's voice came through. "What's up?"

"Bring Qin Ya over tomorrow," Yu Heng walked to the balcony and pulled the glass door shut behind him. "The skin is ready; it's time to resume broadcasting."

There was a pause on the other end, followed by Qin Lu's raised voice shouting, "Xiao Ya! Yu Heng says you're resuming your broadcast tomorrow!"

Soon, a muffled female voice filled with resistance drifted over: "I'm not going! I don't want to broadcast anymore!"

Qin Lu's voice came back close to the microphone: "She says she's not going... this child... her mood has been a bit strange lately."

Yu Heng narrowed his eyes. "What happened?"

"Nothing," Qin Lu said. "She hasn't really left the house for the past half month."

Yu Heng frowned. "Give her the phone."

"Xiao Ya, Yu Heng wants to talk to you," Qin Lu said on the other end.

There was a rustling sound, like the phone being handed over, but no one spoke.

"Qin Ya," Yu Heng called out.

"What..." Qin Ya's voice was muffled, sounding clearly reluctant.

"Why don't you want to broadcast?" Yu Heng asked directly.

"I just don't want to."

"Be more specific."

"It's too tiring," Qin Ya spoke rapidly. "And acting cute in front of a screen and dealing with a bunch of perverts is boring."

As Yu Heng listened, he felt Qin Ya's words were half-true. She hadn't rejected the content much before; she actually seemed to enjoy being a Mesugaki quite a bit.

This rebellious streak definitely wasn't because of the broadcast itself.

“Tsk, give the phone back to Your Mother,” Yu Heng said.

Qin Lu took the phone back and sighed. Yu Heng continued, "I'll head over tomorrow evening to see what's going on with her."

After hanging up, Yu Heng slid the door open and returned to the living room.

Bai Xinran happened to be coming out of her room, holding bedsheets that needed washing.

Seeing that Yu Heng's expression wasn't great, she paused her steps. "What's wrong? Did Sister Yueling..."

"She's fine now," Yu Heng tossed his phone onto the sofa and sat down. "It's Qin Ya."

Bai Xinran placed the bedsheets on the arm of the sofa, walked over, and sat on the carpet next to his legs. Looking up, she asked, "What's wrong with Qin Ya?"

"She doesn't want to broadcast anymore." Yu Heng leaned back, his hand stroking the top of Bai Xinran's head.

"The skin was just finished, why does she suddenly not want to broadcast?" Bai Xinran tilted her head slightly. "Wasn't she looking forward to the new skin and talking about it every day before?"

"Maybe she's tired of broadcasting, just a kid's temper," Yu Heng said. "I'll go over tomorrow to take a look."

He actually had a guess as to why Qin Ya was acting out.

His mind had been entirely on starting his business for the past half month. He hadn't even looked after Qin Lu properly, let alone Qin Ya.

The last time he went to Qin Lu's house was at night, and he hadn't even run into the little girl.

Furthermore, Qin Ya had mentioned several times that she wanted him to accompany her to the arcade. He had agreed, but then forgot all about it once he got busy.

Qin Ya probably felt neglected over this past half month?

“Maybe it's not just being tired?” Bai Xinran said softly. “Could it be... she feels like you haven't paid much attention to her lately?”

Yu Heng looked down at her. This A Ling was understanding him better and better.

"Yeah, likely. I promised to take her out to play and dragged it out for too long."

"Then how does Master plan to coax her?" Bai Xinran asked.

"I'll see when I get there tomorrow," Yu Heng's hand slid from the back of her neck to her shoulder, patting it gently. "Gotta smooth out her fur first."

Forcing her wouldn't work. If she really quit, all the initial investment would go down the drain.

At this point, it wasn't just about the money, as the skin could still be used by someone else.

Mainly, the little girl had finally reached a better state of mind; he didn't want her to relapse.

"Are you hungry?" Bai Xinran changed the subject and stood up. "We haven't had dinner yet. Should I go make something?"

"Sure." Yu Heng nodded. As Bai Xinran walked toward the kitchen, he narrowed his eyes at her alluring body. "A Ling, come here."

Bai Xinran immediately turned back and stood before Yu Heng. "Hm? What is it?"

Yu Heng reached out and grabbed her wrist, pulling her two steps closer until she was standing between his legs.

He didn't make any more aggressive moves, just holding her wrist and slowly stroking her skin with his thumb.

"It would be great if Qin Ya was as easy to handle as you," Yu Heng said with a smile.

However, he also felt that if everyone were like A Ling, wouldn't some of the fun be lost?

Flowers are better when they are diverse and colorful.

Bai Xinran lowered her eyelashes. "Qin Ya is still young, so her personality is a bit more lively."

"Lively is fine, but it has to stay within the frame." Yu Heng let go and gave her hip a light pat. "Go on. Just make something simple. Wear an apron so you don't get splashed by oil."

"Okay." Bai Xinran turned and went to the kitchen.

——

The next evening around seven, Yu Heng arrived at Qin Lu's house.

Qin Lu opened the door. She was wearing loose loungewear with her hair tied up loosely. Her eyes crinkled when she saw Yu Heng.

"Come in." She stepped aside to let him in.

Yu Heng changed into slippers and closed the door behind him.

Qin Lu leaned in, her arms wrapping around his neck as she looked up to kiss his chin.

"I missed you," she whispered.

Yu Heng pulled her waist close and leaned down to return the kiss.

The kiss lasted half a minute, and Qin Lu's hand had already slipped under the hem of his shirt.

Yu Heng was surprised by her initiative today. It seemed she really had missed him; even the matter with Qin Ya hadn't suppressed her desires.

"Where's Qin Ya?" Yu Heng pulled away and gave a doting smile. "Let's handle the business first."

Qin Lu withdrew her hand and tidied her hair. "She's in her room. Knowing you were coming today, she hasn't left her room since the afternoon and hasn't even eaten dinner."

Yu Heng frowned. "You can't spoil her like this."

"She's been pampered since she was little," Qin Lu sighed. "If it weren't for what happened with Lin Liyan, this child's personality would still be quite good. I never hit or scolded her before. Now that she's become like this, I don't know how to discipline her even if you ask me to."

As she spoke, she walked to the kitchen, took a bottle of mineral water from the fridge, and handed it to Yu Heng.

Yu Heng unscrewed it and took a sip, his gaze sweeping toward Qin Ya's room. "I'll go take a look."

"Talk to her nicely," Qin Lu pulled at his sleeve. "She still listens to you."

"I know." Yu Heng placed the bottle on the coffee table. "You go back to your room. I'll go check on her. I'll talk nicely if I can, but if she absolutely refuses to listen and I make her cry from being harsh, don't come out."

Qin Lu opened her mouth to speak but ultimately nodded and turned into the master bedroom.

Yu Heng walked to Qin Ya's door and knocked twice. There was no movement inside.

He knocked again. "Qin Ya."

After a few seconds, a muffled voice came from inside: "What..."

"Open the door," Yu Heng said.

"No."

"I'm counting to three," Yu Heng's tone was flat. "One."

No movement from the room.

"Two."

Still no movement.

"Three."
