14: Official live broadcast

Yu Heng smiled and said nothing more.

He noticed that Bai Xinran never blushed or got angry when faced with such comments.

Arriving at the station and exiting the main gate, Yu Heng hailed a taxi by the roadside: “Master, please take us to the Science and Technology Building.”

In the car, Bai Xinran kept scrolling through her phone: “I checked a few configuration lists, take a look.”

Yu Heng glanced at it: “No need for all this trouble. We can just find a shop and have them assemble it.”

Upon reaching the Computer City, the two found a shop on the third floor.

“Boss, we need a host computer for streaming, one that can run single-player games without lag,” Bai Xinran told the clerk.

The clerk was a young man wearing glasses: “What’s the budget?”

“Around ten thousand,” Yu Heng replied.

The clerk’s eyes lit up: “You can get a really good setup at that price point. What graphics card model do you want? The 1060 is quite popular right now.”

Bai Xinran leaned close to Yu Heng’s ear and whispered, “I think we should go for the 1070ti; the Stream will be smoother.”

Her warm breath puffed onto his ear. Yu Heng turned his head to look at her: “Alright, 1070ti it is.”

After configuring the host, they selected a monitor, keyboard, and mouse, and the final bill came to nine thousand eight hundred.

“You’re fast, boss!” The clerk grinned widely. “Do you need help carrying it down?”

“No need, we’ll carry it ourselves.”

Yu Heng lifted the host case, Bai Xinran held the monitor, and this time, the two took a taxi back to the Villa.

Save when you should save, spend when you should spend. If they could have caught a taxi near the University Town, they wouldn't have taken the bus to come here in the first place.

Back home, the two moved the equipment into Bai Xinran’s room, and she immediately began assembling it.

Yu Heng leaned against the doorframe, watching her work: “You’re quite skilled.”

“Of course. I started building my own computer in high school,” Bai Xinran said, connecting the wires without lifting her head. “Will this room be the streaming room from now on?”

“Yep. This room also has a bed, so you can rest if you get tired. You can even sleep here on the weekend,” Yu Heng said with a smile.

Bai Xinran finished installing the host and booted it up to test it: “Awesome! Now I finally don't have to put up with the laptop's buzzing noise.”

“Are you streaming here tonight?” Yu Heng asked.

“Definitely!” Bai Xinran stood up. “I need to go back and grab a few things. The Stream starts at six tonight, and I'll come back then.”

Bai Xinran waved her hand, turned around, and left.

He lay back down on the sofa, took out his phone, and scrolled through Bilibili for a while. The homepage was full of gaming videos and Kichiku content.

Virtual Streamer?

There really weren't many right now.

And most of them were just reposts of Japanese V-tubers (J-V).

Virtual Streamers were still rarities at this time, especially Chinese V-tubers (C-V), which were even rarer.

Even if they existed, they were usually 3D. Only a small rich woman with spare money like Bai Xinran would create a Live2D skin for herself out of passion.

When Bai Xinran pushed the door open and came in that evening carrying a backpack, Yu Heng was sprawled out on the sofa scrolling through his phone.

“You're here?” Yu Heng looked up at her.

“Yep, I got all my stuff.” Bai Xinran put the bag on the floor and took out her sound card and microphone. “I'll debug the equipment first.”

Yu Heng got up and followed, leaning against the doorframe: “Need a hand?”

“No need, I'll be done soon.” Bai Xinran used her Apple phone as a camera. “If you need to say anything, just send me a WeChat message, I can see it on the computer.”

Before the Stream started, Yu Heng also had her take a moment to sign the contract.

The content was simple: a cooperation and revenue-sharing agreement, not a management contract.

After all, he didn't have a company yet. He would sign the formal contract once he registered a license.

At exactly six o'clock, the Stream started on time.

Bai Xinran put on her headphones, and the alluring dog skin appeared on the screen.

She cleared her throat, and when she spoke, her voice was slightly softer than usual: “Good evening, everyone.”

Yu Heng pulled up a chair and sat next to her, entering the streaming room on his phone.

Scattered bullet comments began to drift across the screen.

[Holy crap! This skin is amazing!]

[C-V? Seriously?]

“Today we're playing a horror game! It's called *Visage*, it just launched a couple of days ago. This Streamer is playing it for the first time too, so don't get scared!”

[Damn! The revealing nature of this skin—will Bilibili even approve it?]

[I knew the day Bilibili became a place to watch adult content was coming soon!]

[Streamer's voice doesn't match the skin.]

Bai Xinran saw the comment about her voice not matching, paused for a moment, and then laughed: “The skin is the skin, and I am me~ Don't you guys like it?”

The audience in the streaming room was clearly attracted by this novelty.

The bullet comments started scrolling faster.

[First time seeing a C-V with this style!]

[What game is the Streamer playing?]

[That chest, that waist, I'm satisfied.]

[The 'two-dimensional' concentration isn't high enough, it lacks that flavor.]

Bai Xinran was clearly much more relaxed: “Today we're playing something thrilling—a horror game~ Don't blame me if you get scared!”

While muting the trolls, he took the lead in sending gifts.

“Thank you to ‘September New Anime’ for the gift!” Bai Xinran’s voice held a hint of laughter. “Boss, you're so generous today?”

Yu Heng sent a bullet comment: “Support C-V! It's only right.”

After streaming for over two hours, the streaming room actually had a hundred viewers.

Most of the bullet comments were expressions of curiosity and praise.

[The light of C-V!]

[The skin is really beautiful, did you design it yourself?]

[Streamer, please stream more, I love watching!]

Of course, there were always some clueless people.

[What kind of Virtual Streamer is this? Just selling sex, right?]

[It doesn't have any 'two-dimensional' feel at all, unfollowed.]

Yu Heng banned every single one he saw, showing no mercy.

These people don't know shit. This kind of 'water heater' content will be the foundation of Bilibili's future virtual revenue.

If not for suggestive content, who would come to your Bilibili to watch streams?

But Bai Xinran started streaming so early, why hadn't he heard of her in his previous life?

She's practically a C-V veteran. Was it because she streamed infrequently due to it being just a hobby, or was she driven away by trolls?

After all, Virtual Streamers and 'two-dimensional' content were still strongly linked right now, and 'water heater' content wasn't popular yet.

But since Yu Heng was reborn, he had to accelerate this trend and benefit the lsp's!

“Thank you to ‘A Ling is My Wife’ for the Mini TV!” Bai Xinran read the gift aloud, her voice becoming slightly cheerier. “Thank you, everyone! I'll be streaming until ten tonight.”

Yu Heng checked the time; it was just past eight.

He got up, poured a glass of water, and placed it beside Bai Xinran's hand.

“Thank you, Boss,” Bai Xinran mouthed silently, then continued interacting with the microphone. “That plot point just now scared me to death, did you guys see it?”

Yu Heng sat back down next to her and continued monitoring the bullet comments.

The atmosphere in the streaming room grew hotter, and some people even started commenting “C-V Rising.”

He smiled, thinking that this was just the beginning.

Yu Heng quickly typed and sent a bullet comment: “Did the Streamer design the skin herself?”

“Yes,” Bai Xinran said, her voice tinged with laughter when she saw the comment. “It cost me a lot of pocket money.”

At that moment, Bai Xinran screamed, startled by a monster that popped out.

The bullet comments immediately became lively.

[Hahaha, she's so scared.]

[The Streamer's scream sounds really good.]

Yu Heng immediately sent a bullet comment: “Protect our Streamer!”

He took the opportunity to grant Moderator status to a few IDs that were sending gifts.

Halfway through the Stream, the number of online viewers was already in the high hundreds.

The bullet comments were scrolling noticeably faster.

[The revealing nature of this skin is acceptable.]

[Are C-Vs playing like this now?]

Another bullet comment popped up: [Virtual Streamers being this suggestive, have they no shame?]

With a flick of his finger, he sent another one away.

Fans need to be filtered; this is called purification!

Bai Xinran clearly saw these bullet comments and paused her speech momentarily.

Yu Heng immediately sent a bullet comment: “As long as the Streamer is having fun, those who don't like it can exit left.”

She quickly adjusted her state, and her voice returned to its cheerful tone: “Let's continue~ Where were we?”

The Stream lasted for over three hours, and the online viewer count stabilized at around one thousand when it ended.

Bai Xinran closed the streaming software and let out a long sigh of relief.

“I'm exhausted...” She took off her headphones and rubbed her neck.

“The results were good.” Yu Heng put his phone back in his pocket. “You received quite a few gifts today, right?”

“Not bad!” Bai Xinran opened the backend data, her eyes shining. “Wow! It's nearly ten thousand yuan!”

“Stream here from now on,” Yu Heng stood up. “You're clearly much more relaxed in this environment.”

Bai Xinran tilted her head and looked at him: “Boss, you were quite dedicated as the mood-setter today.”

“Naturally,” Yu Heng grinned. “I have to make sure I get my investment back.”

He walked to the doorway and looked back: “Same time tomorrow?”

“Yep! I'll come over right after class,” Bai Xinran nodded emphatically, then glanced at her phone. “Wow! I gained over two thousand followers!”
