92: Can I eat you?

Yu Heng looked at Qin Ya, his expression unusually serious.

"Qin Ya," his voice deepened, "things like what just happened, and that time you lifted your shirt, you're not allowed to do them ever again."

Qin Ya stopped swinging her legs, and the playful grin vanished from her face.

"What's the big deal?" She pouted. "Scolding me again."

"I'm not scolding you. I just want to tell you that whatever goes on between your mother and me is adult business; it has nothing to do with you." He paused before continuing, "Don't get involved, understand?"

This girl was too bold.

Yu Heng was no saint; he was afraid that if Qin Ya kept acting out like this, he might lose his head one day and actually do something.

Qin Ya lowered her head and remained silent.

Seeing her like this, Yu Heng sighed inwardly. This girl usually seemed fearless, but her mind was actually more sensitive than anyone's.

"Did you hear me?" he asked again.

"I heard you." Qin Ya looked up. "I just thought it was fun."

"It's not fun," Yu Heng said seriously. "Qin Ya, how old are you?"

Qin Ya bit her lip.

She had just acted on impulse, wanting to see how Yu Heng would react.

And she was also a bit curious about what that tasted like.

"I know." She repeated, "I won't do it again."

Yu Heng stared at her for a few seconds, then reached out and ruffled her hair.

"Alright, give me a smile." He withdrew his hand. "When your mom gets here, she'll think I've been bullying you."

Being ruffled by him only made her feel more aggrieved.

She sniffled and turned her face away.

"You were bullying me."

"How was I bullying you?"

"You scolded me."

"That's called being reasonable."

"It was scolding."

"Fine, fine, I scolded you," Yu Heng was amused by her unreasonable behavior. "So, what do you want?"

Qin Ya turned back; her eyes were still red, but the corners of her mouth were already curling up slightly.

"Treat me to hot pot."

"Didn't we already agree on that?"

"Then add a barbecue meal on top of that."

"Give you an inch and you'll take a mile, huh?"

"Will you or won't you?"

Yu Heng looked at her; this girl changed her mood faster than flipping a page.

"Fine," he nodded. "Deal."

Only then did Qin Ya smile, her eyes curving into crescents.

Seeing her smile, Yu Heng felt a bit of his unease lift.

He was truly afraid she would act out again.

With what she did just now, if he hadn't been able to control himself, they probably wouldn't be sitting here talking right now.

He knew his own nature; he often analyzed himself.

He could be a normal person in the traditional sense; in fact, his values in daily life were more upright than most people's.

Yet, when it came to relationships between men and women, he was extremely unconventional.

In this regard, universal values and morals didn't apply to him. As long as there was no victim and no one else was affected.

Nothing was off-limits.

For example, with Qin Lu, he felt the fun of the relationship lay in their identities.

Stripped of her identity, the only difference between her and an ordinary thirty-eight-year-old mature woman was that she had a good figure and was beautiful.

But she wasn't the only one with a good figure and a pretty face, was she?

However, Qin Lu could take responsibility for her actions, but as for Qin Ya, he couldn't yet treat her as someone who could take responsibility for herself.

"By the way," Qin Ya suddenly remembered something, "what is Bai Xinran doing on her livestream?"

She asked quite directly, with a hint of curiosity and a bit of mischief.

Yu Heng was taken aback by her question: "Nothing much."

"Liar," Qin Ya pouted. "I heard everything. There was still sound coming from your phone when I came in. Don't think I didn't hear it."

"Alright, alright," Yu Heng didn't want to say more on the subject. "Your mom should be arriving soon. Go on down."

Qin Ya jumped off the bed and straightened her clothes.

When she reached the door, she suddenly stopped and turned to look at Yu Heng.

"Brother."

"What now?"

"Thank you."

Yu Heng was stunned for a moment. "Thank me for what?"

"Thank you for..." Qin Ya pursed her lips, "not being mad at me."

Yu Heng looked at her, his emotions feeling quite complicated.

"I'm not mad," he said. "Alright, go on down."

Qin Ya nodded, opened the door, and left.

Yu Heng went to the bathroom and washed his face again.

The cold water splashing on his face cleared his head a bit.

Yu Heng dried his face, walked out of the bathroom, and checked his phone.

Bai Xinran's livestream hadn't ended yet.

He opened WeChat and told her the task could end.

The sound of a car engine came from downstairs.

Yu Heng looked down and saw Qin Lu's car parked at the entrance of the Villa.

Yu Heng didn't go downstairs; he watched Qin Ya get into the car, then the car started, turned around, and drove away.

The taillights faded into the night.

Only then did Yu Heng go downstairs and sit on the sofa.

A message from Bai Xinran popped up: [I've finished the stream.]

Yu Heng replied: [Mm.]

Bai Xinran: [Does today's task... count as completed?]

Yu Heng: [It counts. You did very well.]

Bai Xinran: [That's good.]

Yu Heng: [Come out and chat?]

Bai Xinran: [Are you in the living room?]

Yu Heng: [I am. Why?]

Bai Xinran: [When I come out in a bit, could you please not talk to me first? I need to go wash up.]

Yu Heng looked at the message on his screen and tapped his knee.

Yu Heng: [Alright.]

He paused and added another sentence.

Yu Heng: [But after you're done washing, dry yourself and come straight out.]

Bai Xinran: [This...]

Bai Xinran: [You...]

Bai Xinran: [I...]

Yu Heng: [The choice is yours. You can stay in your bedroom and go straight to sleep. But if you come out, you have to do as I say.]

Bai Xinran: [You're bullying me.]

The corner of Yu Heng's mouth twitched.

Yu Heng: [I'm not bullying anyone.]

Bai Xinran: [If this isn't bullying, what is? How can I go straight to sleep like this?]

Yu Heng: [I'm clearly bullying a dog.]

Bai Xinran: [...]

She looked at the sentence, biting her lower lip in a daze for two seconds.

Shame and annoyance were mixed with excitement; being called that, she didn't seem to mind it that much?

She stood up from her gaming chair and took a breath.

Opening the bedroom door, she saw Yu Heng sitting on the sofa, elbows on his knees, looking down at his phone.

Hearing the door open, he didn't even look up.

Bai Xinran's steps faltered; she was only wearing an oversized T-shirt, the hem barely reaching the top of her thighs.

She wasn't wearing underwear, and she could feel a slight friction as she moved.

Holding something in her hand, she hurried across the living room as fast as she could and slipped into the bathroom.

After locking the door, she turned on the faucet.

After a while, Bai Xinran opened the door and walked out wrapped in a bath towel.

"All washed up?" Yu Heng turned his head and asked softly.

Bai Xinran gave a low "mm."

"Come here," Yu Heng said.

Bai Xinran moved her feet and stopped two steps away from the sofa.

"Standing so far away, am I going to eat you?"
