206: Chapter 200 Punishment
The door opened.
Qin Ya stood behind the door, wearing pajamas, with disheveled hair.
She looked completely listless.
She didn't look at Yu Heng, her eyes fixed on the floor.
Yu Heng walked in, closing the door behind him.
The room wasn't big, and the quilt on the bed was bundled up.
He sat down on the chair in front of the desk and glanced at Qin Ya: "Why are you standing there? Come here."
Qin Ya shuffled to the bedside, keeping two meters away from him.
"Why aren't you eating?" Yu Heng asked, looking at her.
Qin Ya replied indifferently, "Not hungry."
"Then why aren't you streaming anymore?" Yu Heng asked again.
"Don't want to," Qin Ya still used the same tone.
Yu Heng looked at her; the little girl's lips were tightly pursed, as if she had suffered a great grievance.
"Is the reason still the same as yesterday?" Yu Heng looked at her and asked.
"Yes," Qin Ya looked up and stared at him, "I just don't want to stream anymore."
"Alright, if that's what you say, then I'm leaving," Yu Heng stood up to go. "I'll find someone else for the skin; you don't need to stream anymore."
Seeing that he was really about to leave, Qin Ya truly panicked this time.
"Brother!" Qin Ya called out to him, "Don't go!"
Yu Heng stopped in his tracks, feeling pleased. This trick still worked.
He turned around and sat back in the chair.
"Then tell me," he said with a serious expression, looking at Qin Ya, "why are you throwing a tantrum?"
Qin Ya turned her head and mumbled, "I won't say."
"Still won't say?" Yu Heng made a move to get up again, "Then I'm leaving?"
"You!" Qin Ya suddenly turned back and glared at him, her eyes even redder. "You're annoying! You don't keep your word, you're as annoying as my dad!"
As soon as she finished speaking, tears streamed down her face.
Biting her lip, tears flowing, she began to sob softly.
Yu Heng watched her cry, her tear-streaked face truly made him feel a little heartache.
He finally sighed helplessly, then reached out and pulled her over, letting her sit sideways on his lap.
"Alright, alright," Yu Heng pulled out a tissue to wipe her face, lowering his voice, "Are you upset because I promised to take you out but didn't? Because I haven't been paying much attention to you lately?"
These words struck a chord with Qin Ya. She was already feeling wronged, and now that he had exposed her thoughts, she cried even louder.
After crying for a while, she suddenly lowered her head and bit his shoulder.
Yu Heng hissed, taking a sharp breath. It hurt a little. This brat really bit down.
But he didn't move or push her away.
Qin Ya felt that he wasn't resisting, so the pressure from her teeth eased. She struggled out of Yu Heng's arms, turned her back, picked up the tissue Yu Heng had just used from the table, and vigorously wiped her eyes and nose.
"This is my fault, I apologize," Yu Heng said, looking at her back. "This weekend, I'll definitely take you."
Qin Ya didn't turn around or speak.
"However," Yu Heng continued to ask, his tone flat, "why do you say I'm like your dad? How am I like him?"
Qin Ya paused her face-wiping, crumpling the used tissue into a ball in her hand.
"Both of you forget your old love when you find a new one." Her voice was still a little hoarse, but she wasn't crying anymore. "How long has it been since you contacted Your Mother? How long since you contacted me? You reply to messages super slowly, and sometimes you don't reply at all!"
As she spoke, she turned back around, her eyes still red, staring directly at Yu Heng with an accusatory look.
"Your Mother..." Yu Heng paused, "I've been busy lately."
"Busy?" Qin Ya pouted, "Busy accompanying those older sisters, right? Are there any new ones recently?"
"That's my business," Yu Heng narrowed his eyes. "It's a completely different matter from whether you stream or not."
"How is it a different matter!" Qin Ya's voice rose a little again. "You weren't like this before! Before, you'd ask me how my stream was, you'd watch my recordings, and you'd even be part of the atmosphere team in my live stream... But now? You don't even go to my live stream anymore."
The more she spoke, the more agitated she became, and the tears she had just stopped threatened to well up again.
"So," Yu Heng looked at her, "you don't want to stream because you want me to coax you and put my attention back on you?"
Qin Ya's thoughts were exposed, and a trace of panic flashed across her face.
But she quickly put on a brave front and raised her chin: "So what if it is! You didn't do what you promised me, so you're wrong!"
Yu Heng looked at her. This girl was being unreasonable now that she had a point.
"Okay, that's my fault, but you could have told me directly. Throwing a tantrum and stopping your stream is your fault," Yu Heng first conceded, then began to assert his own reasoning.
Qin Ya pursed her lips: "If I didn't say I'd stop streaming, would you have coaxed me?"
Yu Heng chuckled at her words: "Silly girl, if I didn't care about you, if you didn't stream, you wouldn't stream. I'd just find someone else to stream. Why would I come and coax you?"
"Hmm..." Qin Ya was silent for a few seconds, her voice growing softer: "I thought streaming was more important than me."
"Streaming is certainly not as important as you," Yu Heng said with certainty. "We've known each other for so long; even if you stop streaming, I'm still your brother."
Qin Ya looked up at him: "Really? Then can I not stream?"
"No," Yu Heng shook his head. "You need something to do, otherwise, you'll just be cooped up in your room playing on your phone all day?"
Qin Ya pouted: "Okay then, I'll stream."
"Don't throw tantrums like this again," Yu Heng said seriously. "You can talk to me directly if you have something to say."
"I know." After a while, she asked softly, "Then... are you going to punish me? Like you punished Sister A Ling..."
Yu Heng narrowed his eyes at her words, looking at her.
This little girl... is she testing me?
His inner self was conflicted. After a moment of silence, he looked at Qin Ya's expectant eyes, and suddenly, a thought became clear to him.
"Go," Yu Heng said calmly, "bring me that plastic ruler from your desk."
——
"Go wash your face," Yu Heng said, "then come out and eat something. Don't make Your Mother worry anymore."
Qin Ya said, "Oh," walked two steps towards the door, then turned back to look at him: "Then this weekend..."
"This weekend I'll take you to the arcade," Yu Heng said. "I'll keep my word."
Qin Ya's lips curved into a smile, and she opened the door and went out.
Yu Heng stood in the room for a while before walking out. Qin Lu was peeking out from the master bedroom, her eyes filled with inquiry.
"It's fine now," Yu Heng said. "I'll take her out to play this weekend."
Qin Lu breathed a sigh of relief, walked over, and hugged his arm: "Thank you... I really don't know what to do with her."
"If she's emotional again in the future, tell her to come directly to me," Yu Heng said. "Don't spoil her."
Qin Lu hummed, leaning on his shoulder: "Will you... stay tonight?"
Yu Heng looked at the person in his arms, his eyes filled with affection, almost brimming with tears.
"Okay, I'm not leaving tonight."
