28: To expand one's harem?

The phone screen dimmed, and there was no reply from Qin Lu for the time being.

Yu Heng tossed his phone aside and leaned back into the sofa.

If establishing a club worked out, the benefits would be endless.

For a student club, the school would have to provide some support, right?

Setting aside venues and equipment, even just nominal support could help him with promotion, making it easier to recruit Streamers.

After a while, Qin Lu replied: "It's a good idea. Virtual Streamers are indeed an emerging direction in the field of new media. If it can be combined with the academic characteristics of our college to create a practical platform, it would indeed be a good thing for the students."

Yu Heng's fingers flew across the screen as he typed: "Exactly! Counselor, you're absolutely right! Our college has many students who are good at drawing, making videos, have nice voices, or even strong acting skills. We can completely integrate those resources!"

Qin Lu: "Mhm. However, establishing a club is no small matter. You need to write a detailed application and proposal, clarifying the club's purpose, activities, organizational structure, funding sources, and so on. Moreover, you need at least one faculty advisor."

Funding sources?

He'd definitely have to front the money himself in the early stages.

A faculty advisor?

Wasn't there a ready-made one right here?

He tentatively asked: "Counselor, then... could you be our advisor? Besides, Qin Ya is coming to try it out soon. Wouldn't you be able to look after her if you're here?"

After sending the message, there was another few minutes of waiting.

This woman... whether you agree or not, just give me a straight answer!

Your daughter is coming to my place anyway, so you might as well join in!

The phone screen finally lit up again.

Qin Lu: "You certainly know how to take advantage of an opportunity. I can consider being the advisor, but you must first send me a complete club proposal to review. If the plan is feasible, the content is healthy and positive, and it complies with school regulations, I can help apply to the college."

Yu Heng felt a surge of joy. There was a chance!

He quickly replied: "No problem, Counselor! I'll get the proposal done and sent to you as soon as possible! I guarantee it'll be positive, healthy, and full of positive energy!"

Qin Lu: "Mhm. Also, club activities must not interfere with normal studies."

Yu Heng: "Understood, understood! Studies definitely come first!"

Qin Lu: "Alright, prepare the materials first. Contact me when there's progress."

Yu Heng put down his phone, unable to stop his lips from curling upward.

If Qin Lu was willing to help, the battle was half won!

In a great mood, he flopped back into the sofa, crossing his legs and swinging one.

Bai Xinran's streaming voice drifted faintly from the room.

A successful case study was right here; it was incredibly persuasive!

Now he just had to wait for that little girl, Qin Ya. If she could take off too, it would be even more convincing.

He pondered how to write the proposal to impress the college leadership.

Just then, his phone vibrated again. He thought Qin Lu had something else to say.

Picking it up, he saw it was a message from Ning Yutong.

Ning Yutong: "I'm back at the dorm! Sister Xinran is so nice, she's both beautiful and cool! (β‰§βˆ‡β‰¦)οΎ‰"

Yu Heng raised an eyebrow and replied: "What, do you like that type?"

Ning Yutong: "Of course not! I just think she has a great personality and is easy to get along with!"

Yu Heng: Go wash up and get some sleep!

After replying, he went back to pondering the club.

After a while, Bai Xinran finished her stream. She walked out rubbing her neck tiredly and saw Yu Heng slumped on the sofa. "Boss, what good news are you dreaming about? Your grin is almost reaching your ears."

"Thinking about how to sell you for a good price," Yu Heng replied without looking up.

"Pfft, I'm your cash cow now. Would you really sell me?" Bai Xinran walked to the fridge, took out a bottle of ice water, and took a few gulps. "Ahβ€”I'm back to life! The chat was so active today, my throat is almost hoarse."

"Made a killing today, didn't you?" Yu Heng finally looked up at her.

"It was okay, okay," Bai Xinran said modestly, but she couldn't hide the pride on her face. "It was almost twenty thousand today! It's too ridiculous."

"The more ridiculous, the better! I'd love for you to become the top star on Bilibili." Yu Heng sat up and patted the empty spot next to him. "Come here, I want to discuss something with you."

Bai Xinran looked at him warily. "What? Want to tease me again?"

"Serious business." Yu Heng's expression was unusually earnest.

Bai Xinran walked over skeptically and sat at the other end of the sofa, placing a cushion between them. "Speak then, what's it about?"

"I'm planning to start a virtual Streamer club in our college."

"A club?" Bai Xinran blinked. "What are you trying to do?"

"Recruiting, big sister!" Yu Heng looked at her. "Right now, the Guild only has you. If you decide to quit one day, what am I supposed to do? Starve?"

"Pah, pah, pah! Who said I'm quitting! I'm full of drive right now!" Bai Xinran retorted, then realized, "You want to recruit newcomers?"

"Not just Streamers," Yu Heng counted on his fingers. "Artists, post-production, operations... we need them all. Our school has so many art students; it would be a waste not to use those resources. The club is just a front to gather people together and see if there are any promising talents."

Bai Xinran thought about it and nodded. "That's actually not a bad idea. I know several master artists who are amazing, but..." She changed her tone and squinted at Yu Heng. "You wouldn't be using this as an excuse to expand your harem, would you? Recruiting a bunch of pretty juniors?"

Yu Heng frowned. "Am I that kind of person?"

"Heh," Bai Xinran gave two cold laughs. "Those two girls who came by these past two days clearly have something going on with you. Boss, you've got quite a lot of energy, don't you?"

"Cut the crap," Yu Heng reached out to flick her forehead, but Bai Xinran dodged. "I'm being serious! Do you think this has potential?"

"It definitely has potential," Bai Xinran's playful tone vanished. "But it'll probably be a hassle to pull off. Will the school agree?"

"That's why I'm looking for the Counselor," Yu Heng pointed at his phone. "With her support, it'll be easier to talk to the school."

Bai Xinran leaned in to take a look. "Not bad, Boss, you move fast. But writing the bylaws, the reports... do you know how?"

"If I don't know, I can learn," Yu Heng said confidently. "At worst, I'll copy... I mean, 'reference' some from the internet!"

"I knew it..." Bai Xinran facepalmed. "Do you need my help?"

"Not for now. You just focus on stabilizing your streams." Yu Heng waved her off.

"Got it." Bai Xinran stood up and stretched. Her T-shirt rode up, revealing a glimpse of her firm waist and abdomen. "I'm going to take a shower; I'm covered in sweat. Boss, make yourself at home, and remember to order some late-night snacks for me. I want to eat after my shower!"

"Now you're ordering me around?" Yu Heng raised an eyebrow.

"Boss, I'm your only talent right now. You have to treat me better!"

"Fine, go on then."

Yu Heng watched her walk toward the bathroom, his mind drifting elsewhere again.

This girl talks so much flirtatious banter online, but she's not like that offline at all.

That fleeting glimpse of her waist just now... it probably feels pretty good... He cursed himself in his head.

Damn it, why do I lose my head whenever I see a woman?

Did my self-control get worse after being reborn?

Or is it because I only dated one person and got married in my last life, so I'm having a bit of a rebound in this one?

But expanding the harem?

It sounds... not entirely impossible?
