134: It looks familiar

Shen Yueling looked up at him, and after a few seconds, she spoke: "That... that night, I'll go to your place."

"Alright," Yu Heng grinned, nodding. "Then we'll head out as soon as I finish my performance at the orientation gala."

Shen Yueling's chopsticks paused: "You're performing?"

"Yeah," Yu Heng pushed his tray forward slightly. "I'm going up to sing a song to give the Starlight Society some publicity."

"What are you going to sing?" Shen Yueling asked.

"An original song," Yu Heng said with a smile.

Shen Yueling looked at him with a hint of doubt in her eyes: "You know how to write songs now?"

"Of course," Yu Heng said without blinking, though he secretly thought to himself that it was definitely plagiarized.

Shen Yueling lowered her head and stirred the soup in her bowl with a spoon: "What kind of song?"

"A love song," Yu Heng said. "A slow one, the kind that's suitable for listening to at night."

Shen Yueling's movements paused for a moment, and she looked up at him: "Who did you write it for?"

Yu Heng looked at her and smiled: "What do you think?"

Shen Yueling looked away and continued stirring her soup: "How should I know?"

"You'll know when the time comes," Yu Heng said. "You'll definitely like the lyrics."

Shen Yueling didn't speak for a while before finally saying, "Do you need me to help you prepare an outfit?"

Yu Heng raised an eyebrow: "You're going to design a performance outfit for me?"

"It's definitely too late to design one now," Shen Yueling said. "Let me pick something for you. You can't just go up there in a T-shirt."

Yu Heng thought about it: "Alright, then I'll leave it to you. Just don't make it too exaggerated."

"Mhm," Shen Yueling replied.

—

There were no classes in the afternoon, so Yu Heng went to Zhou Mengqi and the others' Villa.

When he pushed the door open and entered, Zhou Mengqi was curled up on the sofa looking at her phone. She looked up when she heard the noise.

"President, you're here." She put down her phone and sat up a bit straighter.

"Yeah." Yu Heng changed his shoes and walked in, sitting down next to her. "Where's Wang Luyu?"

"She has a class this afternoon and won't be back until later," Zhou Mengqi said. "Do you have business with her, President?"

"No, just asking." Yu Heng leaned back into the sofa. "How has the live streaming been lately?"

"It's alright," Zhou Mengqi said, crossing her legs. "I stream for four hours a day, and the revenue is a bit better than before."

The heating was already on, and the room was quite warm. Zhou Mengqi was only wearing a T-shirt, which clearly outlined her figure.

"What about fan feedback?"

"It's the usual, some praise and some insults." Zhou Mengqi laughed. "I just pretend I don't see the ones insulting me."

Yu Heng nodded, his hand resting on the back of the sofa, his fingertips very close to Zhou Mengqi's shoulder.

"President," Zhou Mengqi glanced at his hand, "that online recruitment you mentioned last time, have you started setting it up?"

"Not yet, I'm still preparing," Yu Heng said. "Why?"

"I just feel," Zhou Mengqi smiled, "if we recruit new people, will it affect our resources?"

"Resources depend on ability," Yu Heng's hand dropped slightly, resting on her shoulder. "If you can build an audience, resources will naturally tilt in your favor."

Currently, Douyin Guilds provided actual Dou+ vouchers. While that counted as resources, given the guild's current size, there wasn't really any significant tilting of resources to speak of.

Zhou Mengqi felt the warmth of the hand on her shoulder seeping through her clothes. She didn't pull away; instead, she leaned a bit closer to Yu Heng.

"Then what does the President think of my ability?" She turned her face to look at him.

Yu Heng looked at her, his hand sliding from her shoulder to her waist, his fingertips pressing against her skin.

"What do you think?" he asked back.

Zhou Mengqi laughed and reached out to grab his wrist, but she didn't pull it away; she just held it. "I think I'm doing alright."

Yu Heng's hand continued downward, and Zhou Mengqi's breath hitched.

The room was very quiet as Yu Heng's other hand lifted her chin.

Zhou Mengqi looked up at him, her eyes filled with something very direct.

"Let's go to my room," she said in a low voice. "Xiao Yu might be back in a while."

Yu Heng didn't say anything and let go of her. Zhou Mengqi stood up and walked upstairs, with Yu Heng following behind her.

Her room was at the end of the second-floor hallway. When they entered, the decor was very simple.

Zhou Mengqi closed the door and turned around. Yu Heng pushed her against the door, and she tilted her head back, letting him do as he pleased.

"President," she gasped, glancing down before looking up at him. "You seem to be... in good form today."

Yu Heng held her waist. "You too."

"We have to wear one this time!"

"I've got it on."

—

About ten minutes later, the sound of the front door opening suddenly came from downstairs.

"Mengqi?" Wang Luyu's voice drifted up from downstairs. "Are you home?"

She looked at Yu Heng. He didn't move, signaling with his eyes for her to respond.

Zhou Mengqi cleared her throat. "I'm here, in my room."

"Oh," Wang Luyu's voice got a bit closer; she must have been coming upstairs. "I bought some fruit. Come down and eat with me."

Zhou Mengqi could hear the footsteps stop at the top of the stairs.

Yu Heng looked at her and mouthed: Continue, open the door.

Zhou Mengqi's eyes widened slightly. She took a deep breath, turned the doorknob, and opened the door just a crack, her hand gripping the doorframe.

Wang Luyu was standing at the other end of the hallway, holding a plastic bag filled with oranges and apples.

"Go wash the fruit first, I'll be down in a second," Zhou Mengqi said with a trembling voice. "Thanks."

"Sure, but is the President here?" Wang Luyu suddenly asked. "I thought I saw some shoes downstairs just now."

Zhou Mengqi's body stiffened.

Yu Heng looked at her, suddenly feeling that she looked a bit familiar.

Last time at the hotel, the lights had been off almost the entire time, but now he could see clearly.

The curves of her body, the shape, even the mole on her lower abdomen—it all looked very familiar.

But he couldn't remember where he had seen her. Little Blue Bird?

Surely Zhou Mengqi wouldn't become a fan-service girl in the future, would she?

"Ah, yeah," she said. "The President came over to... talk about some streaming stuff."

"Oh." Wang Luyu nodded. "Is the President in your room?"

"He..." Zhou Mengqi paused. "Yes, we'll be down together in a bit."

"Okay." Wang Luyu turned and headed back downstairs. "Then I'll go wash the fruit first."

Once the sound of Wang Luyu's footsteps disappeared down the stairs, Zhou Mengqi closed the door and leaned her back against it.

"President," Zhou Mengqi panted, "you really are..."

"Really what?" Yu Heng asked in her ear.

"Nothing, I just think... it's quite thrilling." After a few seconds, she laughed. "You're a madman."

"I see you're enjoying it quite a bit," Yu Heng said with a smile.

Zhou Mengqi gasped, "Xiao Yu must be suspicious."

"Let her be," Yu Heng said.

Zhou Mengqi wrapped her arms around his neck and looked at him. "Aren't you afraid she'll tell someone?"

"Even if she knows, she won't," Yu Heng said.

"How do you know?"

"Because there's no need." Yu Heng began to put his clothes on.

Zhou Mengqi also picked her T-shirt up from the floor.

When the two of them went downstairs, Wang Luyu glanced at them, her gaze lingering on Zhou Mengqi's face for a few seconds.

Zhou Mengqi, however, sat down naturally, peeled an orange, and handed half to him.

"Try some, President. It should be quite sweet."

He took it and put a segment in his mouth.

It was indeed sweet and very juicy.
