54: I'm also in the industry.
Yu Heng exited Bai Xinran's room, gently closing the door.
Bai Xinran's hobby is quite something.
As he was pondering, the glass door of the bathroom was gently tapped twice, and Qin Lu asked hesitantly, “Yu Heng? The clothes... did you find them?”
Yu Heng couldn't help but click his tongue. He couldn't touch anything in Bai Xinran's room, and she would be back in ten minutes.
But Qin Lu was waiting here, soaking wet.
Should he let the Counselor wait naked... cough, wrapped in a bath towel in the bathroom?
That would be truly inappropriate.
“Right away!” Yu Heng replied loudly.
Yu Heng gritted his teeth, turned around, and twisted open Bai Xinran's door again.
He silently recited: Bai Xinran, oh Bai Xinran, this is an unavoidable act to save someone from distress. I didn't touch your treasures, I just grabbed a set of clothes... He took out that set. He quickly left the room and closed the door again.
Walking to the bathroom door, Yu Heng cleared his throat: “Counselor, I brought the clothes.”
The bathroom door opened a crack, and a fair, water-beaded arm stretched out. Yu Heng handed the clothes over.
“Thank you,” came Qin Lu's soft voice from behind the door, which then closed again.
A few minutes later, the bathroom door opened.
Qin Lu walked out, wearing Bai Xinran's set of clothes.
The gray hoodie was slightly small for her, especially tight across the chest.
Fortunately, the style was loose enough that it wasn't too outrageous.
The black sweatpants were the right length, but the waist was noticeably loose, so she tightened them with the drawstring.
“These clothes...” Qin Lu tugged at the hem of the hoodie uncomfortably. “They'll do.”
Yu Heng quickly stood up: “They're great, great. Clean and comfortable is all that matters, much better than wet clothes. Please sit, I'll pour you some more water.”
He went to pour another glass of water.
Qin Lu sat down on the other end of the sofa and took the cup. “Student Bai Xinran... when will she be back?”
“She said right away, probably soon.” Just as Yu Heng finished speaking, the front door was suddenly pushed open.
Bai Xinran rushed in, panting, sweat visible on her forehead; she had clearly run all the way back.
Her first glance went to Yu Heng, and then she saw Qin Lu wearing her hoodie and sweatpants.
Bai Xinran frowned, glaring at Yu Heng, but she restrained herself, offering a stiff smile as she greeted Qin Lu: “Hello, Teacher!”
Qin Lu was also slightly startled when she saw Bai Xinran. “Hello, student. I accidentally spilled coffee on myself just now, and my clothes were soaked. Yu Heng said you had clean clothes here, so I borrowed them temporarily. I'll wash them and return them right away.”
“It's fine, it's fine. As long as they fit you, Teacher!” Bai Xinran waved her hands quickly, but her eyes were fixed on Yu Heng.
“They fit quite well,” Qin Lu smiled, tugging at the hem again.
Bai Xinran had already cursed Yu Heng a hundred times in her heart.
Did that bastard see it or not?
If he took these clothes, did that mean he opened the closet?
If he opened the closet, did he see it?!
Ahhh!!!!
Yu Heng, however, remained as steady as an old dog, even pouring himself another glass of water, and slowly said, “Your clothes were a real lifesaver.”
Bai Xinran ground her molars and squeezed out, “Heh heh, the honor is all mine.”
Qin Lu spoke up then: “I really apologize for disturbing you two today. It looks like Qin Ya will be streaming for a while longer, so I'll wear this outfit and head back first. I'll change clothes and come back to pick her up...”
“Counselor, please take care.” Yu Heng stood up, looking like a good student.
Bai Xinran also quickly said, “Goodbye, Teacher!”
After seeing Qin Lu off and closing the door.
Only Yu Heng and Bai Xinran were left in the living room.
The stiff smile on Bai Xinran's face instantly collapsed. She turned around and looked at Yu Heng: “Boss!”
“I'm here.” Yu Heng raised his hands in a gesture of surrender. “Calm down, let me explain.”
“Didn't I tell you to wait for me to come back!” Bai Xinran demanded.
Yu Heng frowned and said, “I wanted to wait, but the Counselor was waiting in the bathroom. The sound of water had stopped a long time ago. I couldn't just let the Counselor stay in there wrapped in a bath towel, could I? That would be too improper.”
The reason was indeed valid. Her momentum weakened slightly, but she immediately gritted her teeth again: “So you only took the clothes? Didn't... didn't see anything else?”
Yu Heng rubbed his nose, keeping his tone as normal as possible: “Well, I did see something.”
Bai Xinran's face instantly flushed red. Yu Heng quickly added, “But hey, we're all adults, right? I understand, it's a personal hobby, no big deal.”
“Understand what!” Bai Xinran's voice rose slightly. “I told you to wait for me! Couldn't I have come back and given them to her myself?!”
“It was an emergency,” Yu Heng softened his tone, trying to be reassuring. “It's fine, I'm not going to laugh at you. Who doesn't have a little secret?”
“Who said I was afraid of you laughing?” Bai Xinran stuck out her neck. “That's art! It's a collection!”
“Right, right, right,” Yu Heng nodded agreeably. “So, have you used them all?”
Hearing this, Bai Xinran subconsciously replied, “Why would I buy them if I didn't use them?”
As soon as the words left her mouth, she realized what she had said.
Yu Heng was also stunned for a moment, not expecting her to be so honest. He tried to hold it in, but failed, bursting into laughter.
“You're still laughing!” Bai Xinran, furious and embarrassed, grabbed a cushion from the sofa and threw it at him.
Yu Heng easily caught the cushion, trying hard to straighten his face: “Alright, alright, I won't laugh. Seriously, what happened today was purely accidental. I wasn't intentionally rummaging through your closet; who knew you kept that stuff there?”
Bai Xinran glared at him, muttering softly, “It's even more dangerous to keep them in the dorm!”
“True,” Yu Heng nodded. “The level of social death from me finding out is definitely much lower than if your roommates found out.”
“It's not low at all!” Bai Xinran glared at him. “I wish I hadn't taken them out!”
“Why isn't it low?” Yu Heng raised an eyebrow. “I genuinely understand. I'm part of the community too.”
Hearing this, Bai Xinran's mouth slightly opened, and she raised an eyebrow, looking at Yu Heng.
Having her treasures seen was a social death level incident.
But Yu Heng said he understood.
This slightly alleviated the feeling of social death.
And then Yu Heng said he was part of the community, which genuinely made things less awkward.
But she still asked, “What community?”
Yu Heng raised an eyebrow: “What do you think?”
“No way,” Bai Xinran walked over, sat down on the other end of the sofa, and stared at him for several seconds. “Are you serious?”
“Of course,” Yu Heng smiled. “How about I show you my collection?”
He has a small suitcase in his Dormitory, packed full.
He worked for a month during the summer vacation and bought almost all of these things.
Then he started practicing for the remaining two months, and brought these things to school after the semester started.
He had used them a few times in the semester and a half before he managed to get together with He Mengyao.
It's just that he's been busy since he was reborn and hasn't thought about this stuff.
That box should be stored deep inside the closet, right?
“Then how did you know I was?” Bai Xinran asked.
Yu Heng narrowed his eyes and couldn't hold back: “Seriously, isn't it obvious? Your virtual persona's elements are almost maxed out.”
“Is it that obvious?” Bai Xinran murmured.
“Did you forget that I'm also in your Captain Group?” Yu Heng said, failing to suppress his laughter.
“Ah!!!” Bai Xinran exclaimed. “I forgot!”
There are parts in the Captain Group that can't be broadcast!
