19: Problem Girl

After the three of them finished lunch, they each returned to their respective dorms.

Yu Heng had no classes in the afternoon, so he simply went straight back to the Villa.

At 6:50 PM, the doorbell rang.

Yu Heng was in the kitchen cooking instant noodles.

Bai Xinran hadn't cooked today, so he had to make do on his own.

Hearing the noise, he turned off the stove and ran to open the door.

Qin Lu was standing outside the door, with a petite figure following behind her.

Yu Heng's gaze first landed on Qin Lu.

She had changed her clothes, wearing a black deep-V dress that made her look even more curvaceous.

"You're quite punctual, Counselor." Yu Heng stepped aside to let them into the house.

With a body like that, being a Counselor is such a waste. If she went to stream in this outfit, wouldn't those who love mature women and young wives shower her with gifts?

He chuckled inwardly, realizing his professional habit was acting up again—everyone looked like a potential streaming resource to him.

Qin Lu walked into the foyer, her high heels making a crisp clicking sound on the floor.

She scanned the living room. "Your place is quite spacious."

"It's alright, probably over two hundred square meters?" Yu Heng responded with a smile.

"This is my daughter, Qin Ya." Qin Lu patted the girl's back. "Say hello."

Only then did Yu Heng have a chance to get a good look at the girl behind her.

She was tiny, and her face looked very young, like a little loli.

She was wearing a black hoodie and shorts; the hem of the hoodie just barely covered the edge of the shorts, revealing two slender, pale legs. At first glance, it looked like she wasn't wearing pants at all.

This mother and daughter pair were both dressed so lightly; didn't they feel the autumn chill?

Qin Ya curled her lip and muttered reluctantly, "Hello, Uncle."

Yu Heng's mouth twitched. I'm only a few years older than you, and you're calling me Uncle?

"Just call me Brother." Yu Heng tried his best to smile amiably. "Come in and sit. What would you like to drink? Coke or Sprite?"

Qin Ya's eyes lit up, but she immediately stiffened her face. "Coke, I guess!"

The three of them sat down on the living room sofa. Qin Ya curled directly into the corner of the sofa, her slender legs extending from beneath the hoodie's hem; her ankles were so delicate they looked like they might break with a single squeeze.

Yu Heng couldn't help but take a few more glances. The shape of those legs was incredible—slender and straight.

If she wore white stockings for a stream, she'd surely trick a bunch of lolicon fans into sending money.

"This environment is indeed suitable for streaming." Qin Lu looked around. "How's the soundproofing?"

"It's okay, no one lives upstairs or downstairs." Yu Heng handed the Coke over. "Here."

Qin Ya didn't stand on ceremony; she took it, opened it, and took a sip.

Yu Heng sat opposite her, observing. Her features were very delicate, but her expression was too arrogant.

This kind of tsundere type might actually become popular in the streaming world.

A classic archetype among VTubers is the Mesugaki!

"Do you want to stream?" Yu Heng tried to start a conversation.

Qin Ya didn't even look up. "My mom insisted I come."

Qin Lu glared at her, her chest rising and falling slightly with her breath. "Watch your tone!"

"It's just chatting and playing games in front of a camera, right?" Qin Ya finally looked up, her small face full of defiance. "What's so hard about that?"

Yu Heng was amused; the little girl was quite arrogant.

"It's not that simple." He counted on his fingers. "You need to know how to interact, handle pressure, and you might get insulted..."

Qin Ya scoffed. "Just insult them back, right?"

Yu Heng raised an eyebrow. Tsk, not bad. VTubing needs a talent like you!

In his peripheral vision, Qin Lu was looking down, smoothing her skirt. A few stray hairs fell from the back of her neck, revealing a patch of fair skin.

He suddenly remembered the jasmine and sandalwood scent he'd smelled in the infirmary; tonight, she had changed to a richer rose tone that wound its way into his nose.

Qin Lu interjected, "She's been like this since she was a child, no respect for her elders."

Her tone was full of helplessness. Yu Heng smiled. "It's fine. Being bold enough to speak is a good thing; streaming requires that."

The daughter shared the surname Qin with her mother; it was likely a single-parent household, no wonder she was spoiled like this.

Yu Heng looked at Qin Ya, who was huddled on the sofa playing on her phone, acting completely indifferent.

He cleared his throat and leaned forward slightly. "So, when do you plan to start streaming?"

Qin Ya didn't even lift her eyelids. "Whenever."

"Then let's start this weekend," Yu Heng looked at Qin Ya. "We need to get you a computer first, and the sound card and microphone need to be set up too."

He turned back to Qin Lu. "Does that work for you, Counselor?"

Qin Lu looked up and pondered for a moment before saying, "Alright, let her give it a try."

"I'll have to trouble you to look after her." She reached up to tuck a stray hair behind her ear, the silver chain on her wrist sliding down to her forearm. "This child is just idling at home anyway; having something to do is better than being cooped up in her room all day."

"It's no trouble," Yu Heng grinned. "The equipment is already here anyway."

The three of them chatted for a bit longer before Qin Lu stood up. "That's all for today then. We'll head back now."

Yu Heng stood up as well. "I'll see you out."

"No need," Qin Lu picked up her bag. "Go back to what you were doing."

Qin Ya had already bounced to the foyer. Yu Heng stood at the door and watched them leave.

Only after the sound of Qin Lu's heels clicking on the stone path faded did he close the door.

He slumped back onto the sofa and pulled out his phone, swiping a few times to open Bilibili and enter Bai Xinran's stream.

Today was still a chatting stream. The bullet comments were scrolling even crazier than yesterday, and gift effects were exploding all over the screen.

[A Ling is so cute today!]

[Wife, look at me!]

[I could lick this skin for a year!]

Bai Xinran was reading a Super Chat: "'Can A Ling say goodnight in a mature sister voice?'"

She cleared her throat, and her voice suddenly dropped into a deep register. "Goodnight, my dear little puppies~"

The bullet comments instantly erupted:

[I'm dead, I'm dead!]

[A Ling is killing me!]

[This voice is making me lose it!]

Good, good, good. Bai Xinran was getting more and more into the zone.

When Bai Xinran's stream ended, she took off her headphones and came out of her room, seeing Yu Heng slumped on the sofa scrolling through his phone.

"Did someone come over?" she asked while stretching. "I thought I heard voices."

"Yeah, the Counselor brought her daughter over to check out the place." Yu Heng didn't look up. "Planning to recruit another Streamer."

Bai Xinran came over and plopped down on the rug. "The Counselor's daughter? How old is she?"

"A bit younger than you?" Yu Heng put down his phone. "Dropped out of school and staying at home. The Counselor can't handle her, so she's throwing her here to give this a shot."

Bai Xinran raised an eyebrow. "A problem girl?"

"Who knows," Yu Heng shrugged. "Anyway, she's coming for a trial stream this weekend. You'll have to show her the ropes then."

"Sure," Bai Xinran grinned. "But I'll have to charge tuition."

Yu Heng gave her a light kick. "In your dreams. I'm finding you a partner."

Bai Xinran dodged and suddenly remembered something. "By the way, have you eaten?"

"Cooked a pack of instant noodles," Yu Heng pouted. "Someone didn't cook, so I had to make do."

"Who told you not to say anything in advance?" Bai Xinran rolled her eyes at him. "I ate before the stream."

She stood up and walked to the kitchen, taking a bottle of yogurt from the fridge. "What does the girl look like?"

Yu Heng watched her drink the yogurt and said casually, "Like a little loli, but with a big temper."

She poked her head out. "What kind of archetype is she going for?"

"Mesugaki!"

Bai Xinran tilted her head and thought for a moment. "That actually has a pretty good market."

"Definitely," Yu Heng lifted his chin proudly. "When have I ever been wrong about people?"

Bai Xinran huffed. "Stop bragging."

She walked over and sat down next to Yu Heng. "But, can she really stream?"

Yu Heng dropped his joking expression. "It's fine, her mom is involved, and besides, our content is wholesome."

"Wholesome?" Bai Xinran raised an eyebrow. "My stream is almost turning into 18+."

"That's just for the show," Yu Heng said righteously. "And since you don't show your face, you can talk about whatever you want."

"That still doesn't seem right. Aren't there age limits for streaming now?"

"That's easy! We'll just use her mom's ID to register the account!"
