31: Chicken soup is here!

"Boss, two orders of pig's trotter rice and two bowls of chicken soup!" Ning Yutong shouted toward the window, then turned to Yu Heng and said, "It's my treat today!"

The two of them carried their pig's trotter rice and found a seat by the window.

Yu Heng walked back to the window to bring over the two bowls of chicken soup. "The chicken soup is here!"

"You eat so much every day, but you don't seem to put on any weight," Yu Heng remarked, watching Ning Yutong eat piece after piece of meat.

"How can you say that?" Ning Yutong pouted aggrievedly. "I gained several pounds over the summer break!"

Yu Heng's gaze swept over her chest, and he grinned. "Your weight went exactly where it was supposed to go."

Ning Yutong's face flushed, and she made a move to hit him. "How annoying! Don't say such things while we're eating!"

"I'm just telling the truth," Yu Heng shrugged and took a mouthful of rice. "If you're going to film short videos, you have to utilize your advantages. Netizens nowadays love seeing this kind of thing."

Ning Yutong put down her chopsticks and tilted her head to look at him. "Then what type of videos do you think I should film?"

As Yu Heng chewed his rice, he quickly ran through the tropes of viral videos on TikTok.

"How about starting with transformations? You know, suddenly changing from normal clothes into a JK uniform or a Lolita dress." He took a sip of the free seaweed and egg soup. "It's simple, effective, and suits you."

"Transformations..." Ning Yutong bit her chopsticks and thought. "It feels a bit embarrassing."

"Embarrassing is good," Yu Heng raised an eyebrow. "The more embarrassing it is, the more people watch. Look at those girls shimmying around—haven't they all gone viral?"

"That's different!" Ning Yutong countered. "Dancing is showing off a talent!"

"Transformations are a talent too," Yu Heng said righteously. "Having a good figure is also a skill."

Ning Yutong was amused by him and gave him a light kick. "Can't you be a bit more serious!"

If Ning Yutong really could go viral on TikTok, his content matrix would have another link.

Virtual Streamers were mainly on Bilibili, while live-action streaming and short videos were on TikTok. The two sides wouldn't interfere with each other and could even drive traffic to one another.

Moreover, their styles were different. Even if they collaborated on a live stream, it wouldn't hurt each other's revenue; instead, it would expand their fan bases.

Ning Yutong was the sweet girl-next-door type, while Bai Xinran was cool and androgynous.

He Mengyao was the sexy 'big sister' type, and then there was Shen Yueling, the cold and elegant 'big sister'.

Tsk, tsk, tsk.

Thinking of this, Yu Heng couldn't help but curse himself inwardly.

Damn, why does this feel more and more like I'm collecting stamps?

"What are you smiling about?" Ning Yutong looked at him strangely.

"Nothing," Yu Heng composed himself. "Just thought of something happy."

"What happy thing?" Ning Yutong pressed.

"Thinking that when you become a big influencer in the future, don't forget your talent scout here," Yu Heng said half-jokingly.

Ning Yutong gave a sweet smile. "Of course! If I really go viral, I'll treat you to a feast!"

This girl was currently full of joy at the thought of becoming an influencer, unaware that this path was far from being as glamorous as she imagined.

The foul language in the comments, the harassment in private messages, and the malicious competition between peers... "Let's go," Yu Heng stood up. "I'll walk you back to your dorm."

Back at the dorm, Yu Heng turned on his computer and prepared to continue writing his proposal.

Hao Junran poked his head out from his bunk. "Brother Heng, out on another date with a beauty?"

"That's right!" Yu Heng replied without looking back. "A big-chested beauty!"

"Teach a brother your ways," Hao Junran leaned in again with a cheeky grin. "Asking once more, how do you get so many beauties to revolve around you?"

Yu Heng turned his head and looked at him seriously. "First, you have to be reborn once."

Hao Junran was stunned for a moment, then laughed and cursed, "Get lost!"

Yu Heng laughed as well and turned back to face the computer screen.

Indeed, if not for being reborn, he probably wouldn't be like this.

"I say, Yu Heng," Liu Tianqi suddenly poked his head out from his bunk. "You've been acting so mysterious lately. What exactly are you up to?"

Yu Heng didn't even look up. "Starting a business."

"Starting a business?" Liu Tianqi became interested. "Doing what? How about bringing a brother along?"

Yu Heng finally looked up at him. "What can you do?"

"I..." Liu Tianqi scratched his head. "I can play games!"

"Playing games counts as a skill?" Yu Heng raised an eyebrow.

"Of course it does!" Liu Tianqi retorted defiantly. "I'm Diamond rank in LOL!"

"Wait a moment," Yu Heng said dismissively. "We'll talk after I finish writing."

Right now, he was too busy with virtual Streamers to worry about gaming streams for the time being.

Besides, a Diamond rank wasn't impressive enough. Furthermore, the game Liu Tianqi was best at, Naraka: Bladepoint, hadn't even been released yet.

Liu Tianqi withdrew resentfully.

Yu Heng continued writing the proposal when WeChat pinged again.

This time it was Bai Xinran.

Bai Xinran: "Boss, I've finished recording the submission video and sent it to your email. Can you check if it's okay?"

Yu Heng opened his email and downloaded the video.

"Hello everyone, I am your new virtual Streamer, Night Lingyuan~"

Her voice was the magnetic tone she used for work.

"I am a dog from another world, and I love playing with humans most of all~"

Yu Heng watched the video and couldn't help but laugh.

This girl's acting was getting better and better.

He replied: "It's fine, go ahead and post it."

Bai Xinran replied instantly: "OK! Boss, today's streaming revenue hit a new high again!"

Followed by a smug emoji.

Yu Heng's fingers tapped on the keyboard: "Got it, keep it up."

Yu Heng scratched his hair, feeling a bit frustrated.

"What are you writing that's so painful?" Hao Junran leaned in again and glanced at the screen. "A club proposal? You're starting a club?"

"Yeah, a Virtual Streamer Club."

"Virtual Streamers?" Hao Junran's eyes lit up. "The kind of Streamers you were watching before? You're serious about this?"

Yu Heng glanced at him. "Otherwise? You think I really wanted to be the top donor?"

"Cool, cool, bring me along too?" Hao Junran pulled over a chair and sat down.

"You're interested too?"

"Yeah!" Hao Junran immediately pulled over a chair and sat down. "I can edit videos! My skills are just average, but I'm a fast learner!"

Yu Heng raised an eyebrow. This guy did indeed become a director at a short video company later on, so his editing foundation should be decent.

"Sure," Yu Heng nodded. "The club needs members to be established anyway."

"No problem!"

"Then why don't we all just do it together as a dorm?" Hou Xudong also chimed in.

Yu Heng looked at them and suddenly remembered an account on TikTok.

It was filmed in a college dorm. Maybe the guys in his own dorm could do it too?

"Sure. I actually have something in mind to film. It's guaranteed to go viral!"

The next afternoon, Yu Heng took the completed proposal to find Qin Lu.

In the office, Qin Lu was looking at something on her computer.

"Counselor," Yu Heng handed over the printed proposal. "This is the proposal I wrote. Please take a look."

Qin Lu took the document, adjusted her glasses, and began to read carefully.

Yu Heng stood to the side, unconsciously sizing her up.

Today she was wearing a light gray blazer over a silk shirt, with the collar slightly open.

This woman really knows how to dress better and better... "It's quite well-written," Qin Lu looked up. "More professional than I imagined."

Yu Heng breathed a sigh of relief. "Then, what do you think..."

"I can be the faculty advisor," Qin Lu placed the proposal on the desk. "But on a few conditions."

"Please say them," Yu Heng immediately replied.

"First, club activities must not affect your studies." Qin Lu held up one finger. "Second, all streaming content must be healthy and positive. Third..."

She paused and looked at Yu Heng. "You must promise to take good care of Qin Ya."

"No problem!" Yu Heng thumped his chest. "I'll definitely take care of her like she's my own sister!"

Qin Lu looked at him with a half-smile. "You'd better."

Yu Heng asked somewhat impatiently, "Then Counselor, when can we start recruiting new members?"

"Next week," Qin Lu thought for a moment. "I'll submit the materials first. Once the department approves it, we can start the promotion."

"Alright then, goodbye Counselor!"

Coming out of the office, Yu Heng was in a great mood.
