17: Chapter 17 Job Classification, Animal Taming

Ever since Zhao Feng had arrived, the life of the leader, "Zhuang," had not been particularly happy.

Zhao Feng's existence posed a huge challenge to the leader's prestige. Fortunately, the Human Race competed for the position of leader through martial prowess; although he was unhappy, he was still quite convinced by Zhao Feng's position as the leader.

This time, having been summoned by Zhao Feng, Zhuang clearly displayed feelings of fear. This poor kid had been punished by Zhao Feng countless times for the sake of learning characters.

Just as he walked into Zhao Feng's shed, he saw that Zhao Feng had already drawn three pictures on the ground.

The first picture showed three people; one person was a bit short, but had a lightning symbol on his head. Zhuang knew this was Zhao Feng. The other two people had a strange circle on their heads; he did not know what that was.

On the second picture, a person wearing a circle on their head led several members of the Human Race to surround and capture an unknown, gigantic beast. The third picture showed a person wearing a circle leading everyone to build houses.

After a month of painful learning, Zhuang clearly understood Zhao Feng's meaning. Looking at Zhao Feng's inquiring gaze, Zhuang patted his chest, indicating his heartfelt approval.

Having persuaded Zhuang, everything became much easier to handle.

Zhao Feng let Zhuang leave first, then took some leftover snake tongues and wove them into two wreaths. These two wreaths were just right for the Human Race to wear; these were the crowns.

In front of the huge bonfire, the Human Race gathered together once again to begin their daily dinner. Originally, the daily meat distribution procedure was organized by Zhuang. At this moment, however, Zhao Feng came before the crowd and stopped Zhuang's actions.

He placed the first wreath on Zhuang's head, drew a picture on the ground of someone leading people to hunt, and then shouted loudly: "Zhuang, Clan Chief!"

Next, he drew another picture of a person leading people to construct houses, and then placed the other wreath on a female member of the Human Race who usually held high prestige, "Zhi, Elder!"

He repeated this, pointing at Zhuang and Zhi, "Zhuang, Clan Chief. Zhi, Elder!"

The Human Race, accustomed to his teaching, followed suit and shouted loudly. Although the sounds were chaotic, the people understood Zhao Feng's meaning.

Afterward, Zhao Feng left the scene to Zhuang and Zhi, letting them preside over the meat distribution together, confirming their status.

After eating dinner and conducting the routine teaching, Zhao Feng called Zhuang and Zhi over to explain things to them in detail.

"Zhuang, you, people, hunt, fish!" Zhao Feng pointed to the pictures on the ground.

Zhuang's understanding of sentences was too poor, so he could only be spoken to in single characters or words. His work was relatively simple; he used to lead people in hunting, so it was old work for him and not difficult. He was the leader of this village.

Zhi learned very well and was already able to understand some simple sentences. Moreover, her work was more complicated, and it was easier for her to understand when assigned to her.

"Zhi, you and the women," Zhao Feng gestured with his hands in front of his chest, causing Zhuang to let out a strange laugh, "build houses, store food, raise children, raise animals."

Confusion appeared in Zhi's eyes. She understood the first few easily, but what did the last one mean? Although this word had been taught, why should one feed wild beasts?

Zhao Feng gestured with his hands while drawing and explaining, "Raise animals, Sticky Bug, collect mucus, build houses. Raise other animals, kill, eat!"

As Zhao Feng explained, a light of wisdom flashed in Zhi's eyes. Zhao Feng seemed to have opened a new door for her!

Having finished the very difficult task of assigning their roles, Zhao Feng sent the two away and pondered alone on how to quickly strengthen the power of the Human Race.

Recalling the rise of humans on Earth, humans, throughout their long evolution, relied on wisdom and unity to eliminate countless animals and grow into the overlords of Earth.

They wore animal skins, held bone tools and stone tools, and fought with ferocious beasts.

But it must be said that the development and growth of humans also owed credit to agriculture.

By relying on agriculture to harvest large amounts of food, the human population began to grow significantly, warriors became more and more numerous, and eventually, the most ferocious beasts died at the hands of armies.

Once the village was on the right track and everything was arranged, he had to immediately go find the Four-Seasons Fruit Fir. Zhao Feng thought silently to himself.

Compared to humans, the advantages of the Human Race were quite obvious.

The Human Race was taller and stronger, possessed sharp claws and skin that wasn't very tough, and had stronger jumping ability.

But relatively speaking, the enemies of the Human Race were even more ferocious; some high-end beasts even mastered simple spiritual power methods.

There were too many things to do, so Zhao Feng used pebbles to record the tasks he needed to do in order. Only then did he lie on the bed to relax. Next, continue to Cultivate Qi.

His consciousness guarded the Dantian as if it were there and yet not there; the Dantian felt tingly and numb.

He did not know how much time had passed, but the five-colored airflow in the Dantian began to turn into a coiling, entangled long snake, constantly circling in the Dantian, and then seemed to rush downwards.

Zhao Feng understood that this was not an illusion; he seemed to have truly seen it.

It seemed that a "ding" sound came from somewhere, and that airflow rushed past the Huiyin point in a whoosh, arriving before the Jiaji point.

The Jiaji point was like a mighty fortress, firmly blocking the airflow that wanted to rush through. The airflow that had broken through the Huiyin point had calmed down by now, seemingly waiting to gather strength for the next time.

"Whew!" Zhao Feng let out a long sigh and opened his eyes in surprise, "It actually works! Could it be that I can also achieve Immortal Ascension and become an ancestor?"

After resting for a moment, he suppressed the surprise in his heart and continued to start the Nine Palaces Visualization Method.

Within the Nine Palaces, there seemed to be a faint white light flickering as his consciousness constantly rotated within the Nine Palaces. Compared to the True Qi Circulation Method, the Nine Palaces Visualization Method was even harder to break through.

Even so, Zhao Feng was very satisfied.

"Ding! Host's strength has changed, please check."

The System notification sounded suddenly, almost scaring Zhao Feng, who was highly focused, to death.

He resisted the urge to check the System interface, continued to use the Eight Methods of Withdrawing Talismans to conclude his cultivation, and only then did he check the System interface.

Sure enough, changes had appeared in the Strength column and the Mysterious Power section.

Focusing his consciousness on the Strength column, a simple introduction appeared on the System:

"Host has absorbed five types of special spiritual power from the planet, with colors appearing as: emerald green, white gold, fiery red, earthy yellow, and sky blue. These five types of spiritual power gathered in the host's navel in a strange way, causing some fundamental positive effects on the host's body.

The more obvious effects are a one-hundred-percent increase in physical strength and a one-hundred-percent increase in reproductive ability. Please name it promptly for System statistics."

After reading this summary, Zhao Feng understood in his heart; weren't these just the five types of spiritual power: Metal, Wood, Water, Fire, and Earth! It seemed he had truly embarked on the path of Cultivation.

He excitedly named this Realm the Qi Refinement Stage and named the special spiritual power Five Elements Spiritual Power.

Zhao Feng clenched his fist tightly and threw a punch into the air. Sure enough, his body's strength was exceptionally strong; he had the illusion that he could kill a rhinoceros with one punch.

Surprised and happy, Zhao Feng was almost unable to sleep the whole night. He had to lie on the bed and use the technique of listening to his breath to calm his heart, and only then did he fall into a deep sleep.

Early in the morning, Zhi led a few people to build a simple fence.

Zhao Feng's words yesterday had inspired her greatly.

All along, the construction of houses in the village had relied on Zhao Feng consuming Modification Points to borrow the Sticky Bug's ability to produce mucus.

But as the population increased, and Zhao Feng did not have that much time, the production of mucus would certainly not keep up, so she prepared to farm Sticky Bugs.

Sticky Bugs could be found nearby; this type of bug had a very strong survival ability and was almost everywhere.

Early in the morning, she instructed Zhuang to catch a few Sticky Bugs while he was out hunting, preparing to experiment with animal domestication.

The Sticky Bug was not very big, with a body length of about fifty centimeters and a diameter of twenty centimeters.

After they sprayed mucus and silk threads, they liked to hide underground and wait for prey to enter the net.

Zhao Feng had introduced the habits of the Sticky Bug to Zhi, so Zhi had a lot of insight into building the insect nest.

The insect nest was against the fence and was rectangular in shape.

On the east side were a few small trees that had been transplanted; enough space was left between the small trees for the Sticky Bugs to spin silk and weave nets.

On the west side, about five meters away, was land compacted with stones. The land was sprinkled with a lot of loose soil, and there were many withered branches and leaves on the loose soil; this was a place for the Sticky Bugs to hide.

Further away, a simple cave was built with large stones; this was the real insect nest.

Next, they just had to wait for Zhuang to return from hunting.
