35: Chapter 35 The Threat of the Wolf Tribe

The warnings from the Cloud-Soaring Sparrow and the map prompted Zhao Feng to quickly set up a defensive perimeter; three Wolf Cavalry were approaching from the north.

After calculating the distance, Zhao Feng ordered the Hammerhead Rhino to charge.

The Hammerhead Rhino began to run with heavy, lumbering steps. Zhao Feng and Meng followed closely behind with the remaining Leopard Dog, hiding behind the Hammerhead Rhino's massive body.

The Hammerhead Rhino ran faster and faster, its broad feet thundering against the ground, kicking up clouds of dust. Dried grass was crushed, and the earth trembled.

In Zhao Feng's consciousness, the blue light dots on the map were rapidly approaching the white light dots moving at a constant speed. His eyes pierced through the dust, vaguely seeing the Wolf Cavalry also charging toward them.

Strength accumulated in his right hand; the two-meter-long wooden spear was ready to strike.

Although Zhao Feng's Centipede-Piercing Spear Technique was only at the beginner stage, after several days of practice, he could achieve a hit with every strike.

The contact happened in the blink of an eye!

The Wolf Cavalry were extremely agile. Although the massive Hammerhead Rhino swung its head-hammer, intending to knock down the Wolf Cavalry...

…the giant wolves possessed an agility that belied their massive size. They quickly dodged to the side, their one-point-six-meter-tall bodies carving three graceful arcs as they evaded from both sides.

Only the Wolf Cavalry in the center was nearly hit. Although it barely managed to dodge, it was caught off guard, causing its speed to drop instantly, widening the distance between it and the other two riders.

Great opportunity!

Zhao Feng took a large step forward. As the giant wolf stumbled, he thrust his spear out, kissing the Wolf Cavalry's throat like lightning.

With a follow-through flick, a line of crimson shot into the sky. The Wolf Cavalry fell from the wolf's back, no longer alive.

"Received 10 transformation points, 1 werewolf corpse."

Ignoring the System notification, Zhao Feng utilized Tree Flight, shifted his feet, and circled his body. The spear in his hand, borrowing the force of the rotation, emitted a whistling sound and slammed into the giant wolf's waist.

This wooden spear was truly a product of the barracks; even with such immense force, it did not break.

Having received this heavy blow, even with its iron-like bones, the giant wolf was knocked to the ground.

The Leopard Dog following Zhao Feng found its chance. Like a bolt of cyan lightning, it pounced onto the giant wolf's back, opened its mouth wide, clamped down on the giant wolf's throat, and began to bite frantically.

On the other side, Meng fought one Wolf Cavalry rider alone.

Meng had never learned any System Martial Skill, but the experience of primitive humans fighting against beasts and their own kind for thousands of years was firmly etched into his mind.

He took a large step forward, dragging his heavy club along the ground. He arrived in front of the Wolf Cavalry rider on the left who had just dodged the Hammerhead Rhino. Using the force from his waist and hips, he swung the club in an arc, aiming for the giant wolf's chin.

Although the Wolf Cavalry rider had been startled by the sudden appearance of the Hammerhead Rhino, it remained vigilant. It let out a strange cry, arched its body, and blocked the club Meng was swinging with its own club.

It must be said that the attitude of being long-time victors made the Wolf Cavalry generally arrogant. It did not believe this tall Kelo Person could block its strike.

Therefore, it did not utilize the advantage of light cavalry to charge and kill, but instead stopped to fight in front of the enemy!

Arrogance caused it to suffer a heavy lesson!

As the first age of empires warrior, Meng possessed bravery, wisdom, and combat power different from ordinary warriors!

Just like his name, Meng was not only peerless in Divine Power but also exceptionally fierce in battle.

Seeing that this Wolf Cavalry rider was so contemptuous of the enemy and dared to block so casually, a cruel sneer could not help but appear on Meng's face.

"Bang!"

The hard wooden club made a huge crashing sound!

The Wolf Cavalry rider felt intense pain in its palm and couldn't hold onto its club; the club spun away and vanished from sight.

The heavy club struck the giant wolf's chin hard, producing a crisp sound of bone cracking.

It jumped around in pain, and the Wolf Cavalry rider on its back could no longer control it, so it had to leap down.

Only then did they truly see the full appearance of the werewolves.

These guys looked like wolves standing upright.

This werewolf was covered in gray-white fur and wore no clothing. Its hind paws were slightly longer, allowing it to stand upright.

Its front claws were long, slender, flexible, and powerful, which was why it could simply use tools like wooden clubs. Its mouth was slightly shorter compared to a wolf's, but it was still filled with sharp teeth.

After dismounting, the werewolf let out a loud howl. It dug its four limbs into the ground and pounced over, intending to pin Meng down and tear out his throat with its mouth!

"Delusional!" Meng snorted coldly. In the blink of an eye, he sidestepped, dodged the sharp claws, and swung his heavy club down diagonally with the wind.

The werewolf moved in an arc, dodging the heavy club. It pounced again, wanting to close the distance and avoid the edge of the club.

While Meng and the werewolf were locked in a fierce battle, Zhao Feng had already engaged the last Wolf Cavalry rider.

The Wolf Cavalry rider saw that its side had already lost one wolf in the blink of an eye, and its heart was filled with vigilance as it stared fixedly at Zhao Feng.

Zhao Feng had stabbed a werewolf to death with one thrust of his spear and now had a measure of the werewolves' combat power. It seemed these werewolves were nothing special, not even comparable to the Aliens' mechanical ants.

Being bold and confident in his skills, he felt no fear and lunged forward with his spear.

Over there, the two Hammerhead Rhinos had finally managed to brake and were turning back to charge, intending to join forces with the Leopard Dog to kill the giant wolf.

The Leopard Dog was much smaller than the giant wolf.

But the Leopard Dog, with its sharp feline claws and flexible body, was utilizing its advantages, throwing its whole body onto the giant wolf.

Its mouth was clamped tightly on the giant wolf's throat, and its four paws were frantically scratching at the giant wolf's soft belly, covering the giant wolf with wounds in the blink of an eye.

The giant wolf also had very tenacious vitality; its body struggled and rolled, trying to shake the Leopard Dog off.

Its wolf mouth snapped wildly, intending to break free from the Leopard Dog's fatal attack on its throat.

Xiao Luo, leading several people, hid in the grass, nervously watching the slaughter not far away. It looked like Zhao Feng, the two men, and the dog were holding the upper hand.

Looking at the cowering Kelo People behind her and the Leopard Dog eyeing them predatorily beside her, Xiao Luo gritted her teeth and signaled the Leopard Dog to go help quickly.

This Leopard Dog was a special creature with not-so-low intelligence.

It had been instructed by Zhao Feng, so it was temporarily under Xiao Luo's command.

After understanding Xiao Luo's intention, it immediately leaped out!

The few Kelo People saw the Leopard Dog leave, and their eyes brightened, but Lady Luo Ha glared at them viciously, scaring these guys—who were intimidated by her lingering authority—quite a bit. They quickly lowered their heads, not daring to have other thoughts.

The addition of this Leopard Dog was merely icing on the cake.

Zhao Feng just wanted to see the werewolf's strength, which was why he had deliberately kept his opponent alive. Now that he discovered Xiao Luo had actually let the remaining Leopard Dog come out to help, and he was somewhat worried about the few Kelo People who had surrendered, he had to speed up.

After a few breaths, the two Wolf Cavalry lay dead on the ground, and Zhao Feng harvested 44 transformation points.

"Master!"

Seeing that the enemies were completely wiped out, Xiao Luo excitedly crawled out of the grass. Ignoring the blood on Zhao Feng's hands, she grabbed his hand and shook it back and forth.

Zhao Feng smiled and nodded at her, then looked at Meng, who was walking over, a worried expression on his face.

"The Wolf Cavalry's individual combat power is very strong; ordinary warriors are no match for them!" Meng said with a grave expression. It seemed they had provoked a formidable enemy this time.

"Let's go scout their tribe first; we need to know the true strength of the Wolf Tribe." Zhao Feng temporarily set aside his inner worries and said to Meng.

The battle just now gave Zhao Feng a rough understanding of the strength of the Wolf Cavalry, Meng, and himself.

If the Wolf Cavalry's combat power was considered 5, his own combat power should be between 15 and 20. Meng was slightly weaker than him, likely around 14, and the ordinary Kelo People might not even be 1.

No wonder the Kelo People had always been suppressed by the Wolf Tribe and even enslaved.

It should be another two days' journey from here to the Wolf Tribe.

These few Kelo People could not be released, and there was no way to spare manpower to watch them, so they had to be bundled up with vines and thrown onto the back of a Hammerhead Rhino. Xiao Luo and the siblings, Liya, continued to ride the other Hammerhead Rhino.

Zhao Feng and Meng talked while walking; he intended to teach the Martial Skill to Meng.

The Centipede-Piercing Spear Technique was a Martial Skill very suitable for an army. It only had one move: the thrust. It was simple, efficient, and perfect for teaching to soldiers.

The Martial Skills in the "Martial Classics" could not be directly transmitted to Meng using the System; that belonged to another subsystem, and even if Zhao Feng actively requested it, it was not possible.

Therefore, he had to teach him hand-in-hand. Fortunately, his spear technique was already quite proficient, and he gained a lot during the teaching process. He only needed a little opportunity, and perhaps he could enter the "Entering the Threshold" stage.

Along the way, they stopped and went. With the Leopard Dog and the Cloud-Soaring Sparrow as scouts, the group was lucky enough not to be discovered.

After a two-day journey, Meng's Centipede-Piercing Spear Technique had already entered the beginner stage. Lady Luo Ha and the other few Kelo People had already surrendered to Zhao Feng, and the light dots on the map had turned green, which was the color representing vassal forces.

Taking advantage of the early hour, Zhao Feng and Meng quietly hid behind a mottled white boulder, peering at the Wolf Tribe in the distance.
