79: Chapter 79 Fighting for Freedom

"Brothers and sisters, fellow countrymen, we are all lower-class people, cannon fodder. When we are toiling away, where are those Mad Wolf Tribe? When we are fighting to the death for food, where are those Mad Wolf Tribe? When we fight bravely but only receive a tiny sliver of food, where are those Mad Wolf Tribe?"

In a mountain col, Lang Yan was waving his arms and shouting.

"Brave warriors fight valiantly but only receive the least amount of food, while those pot-bellied Elders and leaders get the best portions.

Elderly warriors can only be fed, who remembers their past merits? Young children will be selected, and those who are not strong will be thrown away, yet they are all our own flesh and blood!

We are born equal, but those wolves do not give us what we deserve. Do you want such a life?"

Lang Yan's face was ferocious, he raised his arms high, shouting with all his might.

The various races below were silent, their fists clenched tightly, fire flickering in their eyes.

"Tell me, do you?"

"No!" Finally, someone couldn't help but roar, followed by one after another, and finally a mountain-shaking, sea-roaring shout, "No!"

"No one is nobler than us, and no one can reap without sowing! How should we treat such people?" Lang Yan's roar became increasingly passionate.

"Kill them, kill them!" The people raised their weapons and shouted in unison.

"For freedom!" Lang Yan shouted.

"For freedom!" Someone below continued to roar.

Everyone was roaring, "For freedom!"

"Rescue our brothers and sisters from the hands of the sinful Mad Wolf Tribe, charge!" Lang Yan shouted repeatedly.

"Charge!"

Accompanied by the mountain-shaking, sea-roaring sounds, and led by the Captain, various intelligent creatures charged forward bravely, and the Mad Wolf Tribe encampment was right before their eyes.

"Woo! Woo!"

"Roar! Roar!"

"@#¥&..."

Dust billowed, and countless creatures of various races swarmed out.

"Meet the enemy!" The garrisoned Mad Wolf Tribe soldiers also howled and charged, like ants in front of a charging cart, rushing over heroically and tenaciously.

Undoubtedly, this was just a mantis trying to stop a chariot.

In front of the armed force composed of thousands of various life forms, the Mad Wolf Tribe squad encampment, which only had dozens of warriors, was mercilessly crushed!

These Mad Wolf Tribe soldiers, though heroic, were even more stupid! They did not leave anything for the squad; Lang Yan's subordinates robbed everything clean, and even the fallen Mad Wolf Tribe soldiers were torn apart and divided.

If the Captain brothers returned, they would surely ask, is this really the squad's encampment?

But the Captain brothers were in trouble.

The visibility in the cave was very narrow, the cave walls were uneven, and with every step uneven, the Mad Wolf Tribe warriors were trudging forward, their morale very low.

No one knew what was ahead; at least an enemy should appear!

As they went further and further, even the familiar scent disappeared. The Captain brothers' hearts tightened; it seemed that this time it was truly ominous!

"Bang!"

As they walked, a loud noise suddenly came from behind the team. The wolves turned their heads to look, but found nothing.

"Where is Lang Shu? Lang Shu is gone!" A Mad Wolf Tribe soldier suddenly said in terror.

"Lang Shu was right behind me!" That soldier shouted loudly.

The cave was narrow, and the Captain and other leaders could not support them, so they could only shout loudly: "Watch out for the enemy!"

As soon as the words fell, they heard the Mad Wolf Tribe soldier who had just shouted suddenly let out a scream and was snatched away by a figure that flashed by.

"Alert! Alert!"

They were, after all, battle-hardened Mad Wolf Tribe, and they understood that running away now would mean dying faster, so they did not run, but stood back-to-back in pairs, staring closely at their surroundings.

As they focused on the enemy like this, the black shadow did not come out.

Their spirits were tense for a while, but the Mad Wolf Tribe could no longer hold on, and finally relaxed.

"Help, ah!" Another miserable scream rang out. A wolf was dragged into the wall on the side by a flashing black shadow, waving its arms and legs, leaving only a dark cave and pervasive yellow sand.

"Pursue!" The Captain was furious. All along, The Ten Great Tribes had been the overlords of the continent, and having been used to being arrogant, when had they ever suffered such an insult?

The Mad Wolf Tribe used both hands and feet, pursuing at high speed.

"Ah!" From time to time, black shadows rushed out from the walls and snatched away a Mad Wolf Tribe, and no matter how much the captured Mad Wolf Tribe bit and struggled, they could not change their fate.

Finally, during the pursuit, only the Captain was left. Even Lang Bu had fallen victim to the black shadow during the chase. Originally, the black shadow was rushing towards him, but in the nick of time, the Captain grabbed Lang Bu from behind and used him to block the black shadow!

He saw it clearly; it was a strange and ferocious giant insect!

Fighting giant insects underground and in the soil is something even the stupidest wolf would not do!

Yet he, the Captain, actually did it.

This was clearly a hunt, only this time, the Mad Wolf Tribe had become the prey!

Finally, in infinite annoyance, his vision widened, and the scene before the Captain suddenly opened up.

In front of him was a wide cave, which seemed to have been dug recently, still smelling of soil.

Dozens of blazing torches were inserted on the four walls of the cave, illuminating the surroundings as bright as day. The black shadows also stopped and squirmed in the cave, their bellies seeming to contain something, looking heavy.

Surrounded by dozens of giant insects, it was a certain death, but why didn't these giant insects pounce and tear him to pieces?

The Captain was curious amidst his terror.

"Clap, clap, clap!"

The Captain heard applause.

"Worthy of a battle-hardened Mad Wolf Tribe warrior, you didn't collapse even in such an environment!" Accompanied by the voice, the giant insects neatly and orderly made way.

A dark figure walked over from the end of the road; looking at that figure, it was vaguely a wolf person too.

"It's you! Gray-eared Lang Yan, the rebel!" The Captain gritted his teeth and spat out the words one by one.

"Not bad, it is indeed me. You dirty devils would never have thought there would be such a day, right?" Lang Yan picked his claws and said with a smile.

"Hmph! You will never be able to scare a brave Mad Wolf Tribe warrior. Come on, let your devil giant insects eat me!" After all, he was a former overlord; even as a small Captain, he still had pride.

"Despair, take a look, what is this?"

In Lang Yan's hand, a golden light was flickering, shining with a dazzling glare under the torchlight.

"This is!" The Captain roared in disbelief.

Lang Yan's body flashed, and the bronze short sword in his hand fiercely stabbed into the Captain's chest, then pulled out, drawing a spray of blood, and then stabbed in viciously again.

"That's right, it is Qin City, oh, no, it's Qin State now. Let me tell you a piece of good news: now, the Qin people are our allies."

A look of pain flashed in the Captain's eyes. The pain of having his heart pierced made him lose all his strength, and he only murmured a few vague words from his mouth, "Qin people..."
