205: Chapter 205 Chase Through the Mist (Part 1)

Wang Lin leaped between the tree trunks, his figure flickering in and out of the gray-white mist.

At times he quickened his pace, and at others, he slowed down.

"He must lure Shen Junlin deep inside."

"This place is still too close to the safe zone; high-intensity fighting will attract unnecessary trouble."

Behind him, three figures were in hot pursuit within the mist.

Shen Junlin ran in the lead, his eyes locked onto Wang Lin's back.

Two bodyguards followed behind him, one on the left and one on the right; having run for so long, they were not even out of breath.

The stamina of a LV6 Ancient Martial Artist was not something an ordinary person could compare to.

The one on the left was named Shen Ying, a strength-type fighter whose fist techniques were fierce and powerful; one punch could shatter a giant rock.

He had followed Shen Junlin's father for over twenty years and was one of the most loyal retainers of the Shen Family.

The one on the right was named Shen Hu, a Speed-type fighter with fierce leg techniques; one kick could snap an iron pillar.

He and Shen Ying were partners who had collaborated for over twenty years, their coordination so seamless that they knew what the other was thinking without saying a word.

Both were dead soldiers raised by the Shen Family since childhood; they had no family and no friends.

Their lives belonged to the Shen Family; if their master commanded them to die, they would die.

Shen Junlin looked at Wang Lin ahead and shouted: "Wang Lin, you cannot escape."

"This is already deep within the Mist Forest; no one will come to save you."

Wang Lin turned back and feigned a fearful expression: "Shen Junlin, don't push me. If you push me any further, I will run deep into the mist."

"There are a large number of high-level demonic beasts inside; at worst, we will all die together."

Watching Wang Lin's cowardly appearance, Shen Junlin laughed: "Die together? You probably don't have the qualifications for that."

Shen Ying, standing to the side, spoke up: "Young Master, he is heading deeper into the mist."

"If we go any further, it will be the territory of LV6 and LV7 beasts. It might be dangerous."

"Dangerous? For him, of course, it is dangerous. For us, it saves us the trouble."

"If he dies in the jaws of a beast, it saves us from having to do it ourselves."

"However, I want to kill him with my own hands. I cannot let him die in the jaws of a beast."

"If I don't kill him today, how will I be able to hold my head up in the academy in the future?"

The three figures increased their Speed and chased after the direction where Wang Lin had vanished.

The mist grew thicker, and the light grew dimmer.

Wang Lin expanded his Mental Energy; there were no large beasts within a few hundred meters, at least not for now.

Finally, Wang Lin stopped under a large tree, turned around, and watched the three figures gradually emerging from the mist behind him.

A moment later, Shen Junlin walked out of the mist. Seeing Wang Lin standing under the tree waiting for him, his brows furrowed, and a sense of unease rose from the bottom of his heart.

"Not running anymore?"

"Not running anymore. If I ran any further, I'm afraid you wouldn't be able to keep up."

Shen Junlin's expression changed: "Still being stubborn when death is imminent. Shen Ying, Shen Hu, block his retreat."

Shen Ying circled around from the left, and Shen Hu circled around from the right. The two men blocked Wang Lin's retreat on both sides, forming a triangle with Shen Junlin and surrounding Wang Lin in the middle.

Their positioning was not random; it was a joint attack formation honed through countless real battles.

Three people, three directions, three attack styles, their coordination was flawless.

But Wang Lin stood there, his expression calm. He did not look at Shen Ying, nor did he look at Shen Hu; he only kept his eyes on Shen Junlin.

"Do you want to die that much?" Wang Lin asked him.

Shen Junlin laughed: "The one who wants to die is you. You are one person, we are three. You are a LV4, I am a LV5, plus two LV6s. What do you have to fight me with?"

"With your dual-blade style? Oh, I forgot, we have three people here."

"When you stepped on my face that night, did you ever think about today?"

"You snatched my sword, took my ring, and even stabbed me in the stomach."

"I remember every detail. Today, I will make you pay it back tenfold."

Wang Lin looked at him indifferently: "That night, you were just as confident, and yet you ended up being beaten like a dog by me. It's the same now."

Shen Junlin's face sank abruptly.

That was the thing he least wanted to mention, and it was also a humiliating memory.

In front of so many people, being stepped under the foot of a freshman.

Shen Junlin took a deep breath and suppressed his anger: "That day was that day, today is today."

"That day I was alone, today I have three people."

"The sword I am using today is ten times stronger than frost white."

Wang Lin glanced at the sword in his hand and nodded: "Not a bad sword. Better than frost white. Thank you for specially bringing it to me."

Shen Junlin's expression changed completely. He raised his sword and pointed the tip at Wang Lin's throat: "Kill him for me."

Shen Ying rushed forward; he was a LV6 Ancient Martial Artist, a strength-type, and he smashed a fist toward Wang Lin's chest.

The wind from the fist whistled, and the air was compressed into a visible wave of energy, rushing straight at Wang Lin.

This punch was enough to shatter a giant rock.

Wang Lin watched that fist growing larger and larger, neither dodging nor retreating.

Superpower [Vajra Transformation] activated.

A layer of faint metallic luster appeared on the surface of Wang Lin's body. Shen Ying's fist slammed into Wang Lin's chest, emitting a muffled, thunderous sound.

There was a shallow fist mark on Wang Lin's chest, but his skin was not broken, and his bones were not broken either.

Wang Lin looked at the fist mark on his chest, then glanced at Shen Ying, slightly mocking!

Shen Junlin, in the distance, saw this scene, his eyes widening abruptly, and he blurted out: "Vajra Transformation? You actually have another Superpower?"

Wang Lin smiled indifferently: "I know many more Superpowers."

The luster of Vajra Transformation faded from his body.

Shen Hu launched his attack; he was a Speed-type Ancient Martial Artist who practiced Lightness Skill, his movement as agile as a swallow, and his Speed as fast as lightning.

His body left an afterimage in the mist as he cut in from the right, sweeping a leg toward Wang Lin's waist.

The wind from the leg was fierce, and the Speed was so fast that it was almost invisible to the naked eye.

An ordinary person might not be able to react, and even if they did react, their body wouldn't be able to keep up.

But Wang Lin was not an ordinary person; a layer of cyan light radiated around his body—Wind Ability, instantly erupting.

His body seemed to be lifted by a gust of wind, drifting backward several meters. Shen Hu's leg swept past in front of him, and the resulting airflow cut off a few strands of his hair.

Wang Lin landed steadily on the ground.

Shen Junlin's expression became even uglier: "Wind Element? You actually know Wind Ability too?"

"I told you just now, I know many more."

Shen Junlin's hand tightened on the sword hilt; this feeling made him uneasy.

But he could not retreat. Shen Junlin took a deep breath and suppressed his unease:

"Attack together. Do not give him a chance to catch his breath."

Shen Ying and Shen Hu exchanged a glance and charged forward simultaneously.

Shen Ying attacked fiercely from the front, his fists raining down like raindrops, each punch carrying the power to split mountains and crack rocks.

Shen Hu circled from the side, his leg techniques as fierce as blades, each kick coming from an unexpected angle.

The two worked in perfect coordination; one was fierce and powerful, the other swift and agile, one restraining from the front, the other sneaking an attack from the side.
