226: Chapter 225 Superpower [Sky Rift]

Wang Lin looked at her and remained silent for a moment.

Su Wanqing was no ordinary person; she was intelligent, sharp, and possessed keen observation skills.

Seeing those sword techniques at the Ancient Martial Arts Training Hall, she was able to associate them with Shen Junlin's Sword God Superpower.

Lying was pointless; she would find out sooner or later.

Wang Lin nodded. "Yes."

Su Wanqing's breath hitched for a moment; she had guessed correctly.

The [ Sword God ] Superpower, the Superpower that allowed an ordinary person to learn a sword manual just by glancing at it,

the Superpower that would mean she no longer needed to endure ten or twenty years of day-after-day grueling practice.

Her heart was racing, but she had not lost her reason.

"How did you get it? The [ Sword God ] Superpower... can I learn it?"

Wang Lin looked at her and remained silent for a moment. "Yes, you can."

Su Wanqing's eyes lit up abruptly, and she was just about to say "Thank you"...

Wang Lin spoke again. "I can give you the Sword God Superpower."

"But the condition is that you be loyal to me, pledge your allegiance to me, and never betray me."

Su Wanqing's expression froze, her throat feeling as if it were obstructed by something.

Loyalty? Allegiance? No betrayal?

Su Wanqing had not expected that what Wang Lin wanted was her loyalty, her promise, her everything.

If she were just an ordinary person, she could agree.

But she was a member of the Su Family, and every word and action of hers represented the Su Family.

Su Wanqing stood rooted to the spot, the scales in her heart wavering.

She recalled the faces of those people in the Su Family...

Saying that her ten years of sword practice couldn't even compare to a Level 3 Esper.

Those words had pierced her heart like knives, stabbing at her for many years.

She practiced the sword not for the Su Family, but for herself, so that they would stop looking down on her.

If she agreed to Wang Lin, she could possess the Sword God Superpower, become strong, and make those who looked down on her shut up.

But the price was her freedom, her life, her choices.

Su Wanqing gripped the tingtao sword tightly, then her fingers slowly relaxed. "I need to think about it."

Wang Lin looked at her and did not press her further. "Suit yourself. Come find me when you've made up your mind."

Wang Lin turned around and walked in the direction of the dormitory.

For the next few days, Wang Lin did not leave the academy.

He attended classes as usual, ate at the cafeteria as usual, and went to the Ancient Martial Arts Training Hall to practice his blade and sword work as usual.

His life looked no different than before, but his Mental Energy perception was always active, and he knew clearly that someone was watching him.

Unsurprisingly, it must be people sent by the Shen Family.

On the first day, it was a stranger in the cafeteria.

A male student wearing the academy uniform had not taken a single bite of food from the time Wang Lin entered the cafeteria until he left; he just kept his head down, looking at his phone,

but Wang Lin noticed that his gaze never once rested on the phone screen.

After Wang Lin finished his meal, he stood up and walked toward the return area.

That person also stood up and followed behind him, keeping a distance neither too close nor too far, following him until they reached the cafeteria entrance before stopping and pretending to turn in another direction.

On the second day, it was behind the parasol tree outside the Ancient Martial Arts Training Hall.

After Wang Lin finished practicing his blade work and stepped out of the Ancient Martial Arts Training Hall, his Mental Energy perception caught a presence behind the parasol tree.

A person wearing a black jacket was standing behind the tree trunk, motionless.

Wang Lin didn't look at him and continued walking toward the dormitory.

On the third day, Wang Lin went to the library to return books.

When he reached the library entrance, the door was open, but Wang Lin did not go in.

He didn't want to be cornered in an enclosed space; it was too troublesome.

On the fourth day, a rather good-looking girl in the cafeteria carried her tray over to sit opposite Wang Lin and flashed a smile.

"Hello, my name is Chen Wan, and I'm a junior. Can I sit here?"

Wang Lin said indifferently, "No."

Chen Wan's smile stiffened, then she stood up, picked up her tray, and left. "Sorry to bother you."

On the fifth day, Class Teacher Zhou Mingyuan appeared at the classroom door, his expression a few shades more serious than usual.

"Wang Lin, come with me."

The classroom went quiet for a moment, and everyone's eyes fell on Wang Lin.

Wang Lin stood up and followed Class Teacher Zhou Mingyuan out of the classroom.

In the hallway, Class Teacher Zhou Mingyuan offered no explanation and headed straight for the third floor of the office building.

Class Teacher Zhou Mingyuan stopped in front of a door with a sign that read "Academic Affairs Office," pushed it open, and signaled for Wang Lin to enter.

Wang Lin walked in and swept his gaze across the room.

The office was large, with a long table in the middle, on which lay a few documents and a cup of tea that was still steaming.

Director Fang was sitting at one end of the long table, his face ashen, with large dark circles under his eyes; it was clear he hadn't slept well for several days.

Class Teacher Zhou Mingyuan stood by the door, not sitting down, his arms crossed, his expression unreadable.

To Director Fang's right sat two people wearing school uniforms, with the School Affairs Committee badge pinned to their chests, their expressions serious and their posture straight.

And at the other end of the long table sat a person Wang Lin had never seen before.

He was wearing a dark gray long gown, his face gaunt, his cheekbones high, and his lips thin, giving people a feeling of meanness.

His gaze fell on Wang Lin, and Wang Lin felt as if he were prey being locked onto.

Behind that person stood two others wearing black combat uniforms, expressionless, standing straight, their eyes hollow, like two statues.

Their presence was restrained, but Wang Lin's Mental Energy perception caught it—these two were Level 6 powerhouses, honed through actual combat.

Director Fang looked up at Wang Lin. "Wang Lin, the reason I called you here today is that I want to understand some things."

"You must have heard about Shen Junlin's disappearance. The Shen Family has submitted a formal investigation request to the school administration, demanding that we cooperate in a thorough investigation."

"You have had conflicts with Shen Junlin, so the school administration needs to ask you a few questions."

Wang Lin did not answer Director Fang's question, his gaze remaining fixed on that person. "Who is he?"

The person in the dark gray gown spoke up. "I am Shen Tianhe. External Affairs Deacon of the Shen Family. Shen Tianyou's cousin."

"My Superpower is [ Void Rending ]; I can create spatial rifts to cut through any matter."

Shen Tianhe raised his right hand and gently swiped his finger through the air; a hair-thin black crack appeared on the tabletop.

That crack was not drawn on; it was a real spatial rift, leaving a mirror-smooth cut on the tabletop.

Shen Tianhe lowered his hand, the crack vanished, and the tabletop returned to its intact state.

"I'm just demonstrating my ability, not threatening you. I came today to understand a few things."

Director Fang looked at the tabletop, his lips moving a few times, but he said nothing.

The expressions of the two school committee members changed as well, but neither spoke.

Shen Tianhe opened the folder in front of him, which contained a few photographs and some written records.

"According to our understanding, you and Shen Junlin have had multiple conflicts during your time at the academy."

"The last conflict occurred on the evening of October 12th, in an alley outside the academy."

"You injured him and took his sword and space ring. Is this true?"
