28: Chapter 28: In team battles, target the mage first.

The Bone Spike Calamity's head disappeared into that "flower," leaving only half a neck still spurting blood.

Its body twitched twice before slumping down limply.

Wang Lin's hands were still clutching the headless corpse, and three tentacles suddenly shot out from his back, stabbing fiercely into the corpse's chest, abdomen, and back.

The suckers on the tentacles began to writhe frantically.

A wild and irritable power surged in through the tentacles; it was the Bone Spike Calamity's source power.

Wang Lin could feel this power rampaging inside his body, being devoured, digested, and absorbed by his Sequence 0 [Infinite Evolution].

A few seconds later, the tentacles automatically released, and the corpse had already withered beyond recognition.

Wang Lin lowered his head and looked at his own tentacles.

At the tips, tiny bone spikes were slowly growing.

Those bone spikes were initially just rice-grain-sized bumps, then grew at a Speed visible to the naked eye, becoming longer and sharper,

Finally, they turned into three-inch-long barbs, gleaming with a chilling light in the mist.

Wang Lin reached out and touched one of the bone spikes.

It was very hard and sharp; his fingertip broke skin with just a light touch, oozing a drop of blood.

He froze for a moment, then the corners of his mouth slowly curled up.

The places where his body had been pierced were healing at a Speed visible to the naked eye.

At the edges of those bloody holes, new granulation tissue was writhing, growing, and intertwining, eventually turning into complete skin.

In less than a dozen seconds, most of the wounds on his body had disappeared.

Everyone watching felt their scalps go numb.

Was that even human?

Commander Leí Héng's expression changed completely.

"He can devour others' abilities and turn them into his own power!"

"We can't let him devour any more! Attack together! We must kill him! Otherwise, none of us will escape!"

The remaining few looked at each other, gritted their teeth, and lunged forward simultaneously.

Wang Lin looked at them and suddenly smiled.

He raised his right hand and pressed it downward.

His entire arm split instantly, and a dozen tentacles with bone spikes frantically burrowed into the ground.

Commander Leí Héng's pupils shrank: "Watch out for the ground!"

As soon as he finished speaking, the ground beneath everyone cracked open simultaneously, and tentacles broke through the soil, the bone spikes at their tips gleaming coldly in the mist.

The Ice Element Awakened reacted the fastest, tapping their feet rapidly and floating back three meters, dodging the tentacle that was stabbing toward their lower leg.

The Rock-type Calamity, relying on its strong defense, didn't dodge but instead stomped directly onto the tentacle.

The tentacle was crushed into the mud, but another one shot out from the side and wrapped around its ankle.

It punched the tentacle, breaking it, and retreated two more steps.

Commander Leí Héng swung his long blade, severing the two tentacles stabbing toward him; with a flash of the blade, the severed tentacles writhed on the ground a few times before going still.

All three of them dodged.

Commander Leí Héng glanced at the ground; those tentacles had already retracted and did not appear again.

He sneered: "Is that all you've got?"

Wang Lin did not answer.

He simply retracted his right hand.

All the tentacles that had burrowed underground were pulled back, like receding seawater, shrinking back into his arm.

But hanging from the tentacles was a person.

It was exactly that Speed Calamity, the one that had been knocked unconscious by Wang Lin's punch and was lying five meters away.

It was wrapped tightly by the tentacles, with only its face exposed; its eyes were still closed, and it hadn't woken up yet.

Commander Leí Héng's smile froze.

He turned his head abruptly and looked at the spot five meters away, which was empty, save for a pool of blood.

"When..."

So those tentacles burrowing underground weren't to attack them.

They were to bypass them and steal the unconscious person.

Attacking them was just a feint.

Wang Lin lowered his head and looked at the Speed Calamity.

The creature happened to open its eyes at that moment.

It looked dazedly at the face before it, then looked down at the tentacles wrapped around it, its eyes changing from confusion to terror.

"No... No..."

Wang Lin didn't give it a chance to speak.

His head transformed once again into that giant flower bud, opening a bloodthirsty maw.

He took a bite.

The Speed Calamity's upper body disappeared into that giant mouth.

Only its two legs fell from the tentacles, landing on the ground, twitching twice before going still.

Chewing sounds came from that giant mouth.

Crunch.

Crunch.

Wang Lin's giant mouth closed and slowly reverted to a human face.

He licked the blood from the corner of his mouth and looked at the remaining three.

Commander Leí Héng.

The Ice Element Awakened.

The Rock-type Calamity.

At this moment, Wang Lin had devoured the Speed Calamity.

A light and agile power surged into his body; it was the source of Speed.

He could feel the muscles in his legs trembling slightly, as if something was flowing in his blood vessels, and his whole body felt lighter.

Speed had increased.

Wang Lin flexed his ankles; the ground beneath his feet felt different.

It wasn't an illusion; it had truly become lighter.

He raised his head, his gaze sweeping over the remaining three people.

Commander Leí Héng's hand gripping the blade had bulging veins, and his eyes were full of dread.

The Ice Element Awakened stood three meters to the right of Commander Leí Héng, their face pale.

The Rock-type Calamity stood on the far left, rock-like skin covering its entire body.

But the ferocity in its eyes was gone, replaced only by fear.

Three people, three directions.

Wang Lin's gaze landed on the Ice Element Awakened.

In a team fight, you must target the mage first.

He moved.

Fast.

Much faster than before.

With the support of Wind Element power, the Ice Element Awakened only saw a black shadow flash by, and Wang Lin was already in front of them.

Their pupils shrank, and instinctively, they pushed their hands forward; seven or eight ice cones formed instantly and shot toward Wang Lin.

Too slow.

Wang Lin dodged to the side, and those ice cones flew past his clothes, not hitting a single one.

The next second, his fist smashed into the Ice Element Awakened's face.

Bang!

The Ice Element Awakened flew sideways, crashed into the stone wall, bounced back, and lay on the ground motionless.

Their face had a dent in it, and large mouthfuls of blood mixed with a few broken teeth gushed from their mouth.

Not dead yet, but unable to move.

Wang Lin didn't give them a chance to catch their breath.

He walked forward, grabbed the Ice Element Awakened by the hair with one hand, and lifted them from the ground.

The Ice Element Awakened's eyes were half-open, and a weak sound came from their mouth: "No... Don't..."

Wang Lin didn't listen.

His head transformed once again into that giant flower bud, opening a bloodthirsty maw.

He took a bite.

The Ice Element Awakened's upper body disappeared into the giant mouth, leaving only their two legs hanging down limply.

Chewing sounds echoed in the mist.

Crunch.

Crunch.

A bone-chilling power surged into Wang Lin's body.

He could feel something added to his blood, his fingertips slightly cold, as if he could condense frost at any moment.

Ice Element ability acquired.

He released his hand, and the half-corpse fell to the ground.

Wang Lin turned his head and looked at the Rock-type Calamity.

The Rock-type Calamity had already retreated to the edge of the stone wall.

It looked at Wang Lin,

looking at the half-corpse,

looking at the bloodstains on the corner of Wang Lin's mouth that hadn't been wiped clean.

"No... Don't..." Its voice trembled, "I surrender... I'll follow you..."
