228: Chapter 227 Shen Tianhe's Conclusion
Wang Lin had devoured exotic beasts, Espers, and blood energy, but none of those things could nourish his Spatial Ability.
It was like a piece of parched land; no matter how much water was poured onto it, nothing would grow.
But Shen Tianhe's "Void Rending" was different.
It was a branch of Spatial Ability, a mature branch that had already blossomed and borne fruit.
If he could devour Shen Tianhe, would that "Spatial" seed take root and sprout? Would it grow new branches?
Wang Lin stopped walking, stood before the corridor window, and looked at the grey, hazy sky outside.
He had never really utilized his Spatial Ability properly; he could only perform brief teleports and create a very small storage space.
His Vajra Transformation, Wind Element, Blade God, Sword God, Regeneration, flames... everything else was growing, only his Spatial Ability remained stagnant.
If devouring Shen Tianhe could allow it to break through, then Shen Tianhe would no longer be just a threat, but his next prey.
Wang Lin withdrew his gaze and continued walking toward the dormitory.
Shen Tianhe wanted to kill him; that was perfect, for he also wanted to kill Shen Tianhe.
When Shen Tianhe walked out of the Holy City Academy gate, the sky had already darkened.
Shen Tianhe stood at the entrance, turned back to glance at the office building, his gaze lingering on the window of Bishop Qin Cang's office for a moment before he withdrew it and sat inside the black sedan waiting by the roadside.
The car started, drove into the traffic, and merged into the evening lights of the Holy City.
Shen Tianhe sat in the backseat, eyes closed, fingers tapping lightly on his knees.
Two LV6 attendants sat in the front row, neither daring to speak.
The carriage was so quiet that only the low roar of the engine remained.
The car drove for about forty minutes before entering the iron gates of the Shen Family old mansion.
Shen Tianhe got out of the car, walked through the courtyard, and entered the main hall.
Shen Tianyou sat on the grand armchair. Seeing Shen Tianhe enter, he raised his gaze and landed it on his face: "How did it go?"
Shen Tianhe stood before him, silent for a moment: "It is Wang Lin. The murderer who killed Junlin is him."
Shen Tianyou's fingers tightened on the armrest: "What about evidence?"
"There is no evidence. But my intuition will not be wrong."
"Wang Lin's reaction was too calm, calm to a degree that a normal person could not possibly possess."
"He had long been prepared to be questioned; he had long prepared all the answers."
"Moreover, he is a member of the Holy See, personally arranged to be brought in by Bishop Qin Cang."
"Anyone who can have such an identity within the Holy Court system does not have a simple background."
Shen Tianyou's gaze fell upon the cup of cold tea on the table: "Is it possible that Junlin's disappearance was done by someone else?"
"Impossible. Wang Lin and Junlin have a grudge; he has beaten Junlin and robbed him of his sword and ring."
"Moreover, on the day Junlin went missing, he was active in that very area."
"Time, location, motive, ability—he has it all."
"More importantly, Third Uncle Shen Henian's disappearance is also related to him."
Shen Tianyou's eyes moved slightly; that was the pain buried deepest in his heart.
His Third Uncle Shen Henian, an LV8 powerhouse and the backbone of the Shen Family, had also vanished in the Mist Forest.
"Do you have evidence?"
"No. But Third Uncle Shen Henian was last seen tracking someone. And Wang Lin was in that area at the time. Is this a coincidence?"
Shen Tianhe looked at Shen Tianyou, "I do not believe in coincidences."
The main hall was quiet for a long time.
Shen Tianyou stood up, walked to the window, and turned his back to Shen Tianhe.
"Regardless of whether there is evidence, regardless of whether he is a member of the Holy See. He killed Junlin, so I want him dead."
Shen Tianyou turned around and looked at Shen Tianhe: "Tianhe, I trust your intuition. Since you have determined it is him, then it is him."
Shen Tianhe nodded. "What is the Family Head's intention?"
"Arrange manpower, find an opportunity, and kill him. No matter what method is used, no matter what price must be paid. I want him dead."
Shen Tianhe was silent for a moment: "He is in the academy, protected by Bishop Qin Cang. We cannot make a move."
"Then wait for him to leave the academy. He cannot stay inside forever. If he never comes out, then force him out."
"Apply pressure, find people, and make it so he cannot stay." Shen Tianyou's fingers tapped on the windowsill twice.
"How many people are by his side?"
"Currently, we have found Zeng Aniu of the Twelve Zodiacs, whom he met while training in the Mist Forest."
"There are also people from the Qiao Family and Su Family who have dealings with him. Additionally, he has a few classmates with whom he has a good relationship."
Shen Tianyou was silent for a moment: "Zeng Aniu... the Twelve Zodiacs, that is a bit troublesome. But it is not unsolvable."
"You first send people to watch him and report his movements to me at any time."
"If he leaves the academy, make your move. If he does not leave, then make it so he cannot stay."
"Find people from the school administration, find his classmates, find his teachers. Let him know that staying in the academy is more dangerous than being outside."
Shen Tianhe nodded. "Yes."
Shen Tianyou stood alone by the window, watching the night outside.
"Junlin, you wait. I will make the person who killed you go down to accompany you."
The next morning, Wang Lin did not go to the classroom, but instead went to the academy's library.
When he pushed the door open, it was empty inside. Sunlight shone in from the high windows, landing on the bookshelves and tables, with dust motes floating in the light.
Wang Lin walked past rows of bookshelves, his fingers sliding over the spines, looking at them one by one.
He had flipped through many ancient books regarding Superpowers, but there were almost none regarding Spatial Ability.
Wang Lin's footsteps did not stop; he walked all the way to the deepest part of the library and stopped in front of a dust-covered bookshelf in the corner.
On the shelf lay a thin booklet. The cover had no words, and the paper had already yellowed and become brittle, its edges curled, as if no one had opened it for many years.
Wang Lin carefully pulled it out and opened the first page.
The handwriting was handwritten, the ink had faded to a light brown, but it was still legible.
The first line of text read: "The Way of Space is not about mastery or control, but symbiosis."
Wang Lin looked at that line of text, and his heart skipped a beat.
It was not "controlling" space, but "symbiosis."
A spatial rift was not a weapon, but an extension of one's fingers.
Teleportation was not moving; it was space carrying you along.
Wang Lin continued to flip through it.
The second page depicted a diagram, a cross-section of a spatial rift, with a few lines of text noted beside it:
"The power of a rift originates from the weakness of space. Where it is thin, it is easily torn. The strong use pressure to tear it; the wise use perception to guide it."
Wang Lin's gaze rested on that line of text.
Use perception to guide, not use force to tear.
Shen Tianhe used force to tear space; his "Void Rending" Superpower was essentially tearing space open violently.
But what Wang Lin had to do was guide it.
Where he perceived space to be thin, he would gently "push," and the rift would appear on its own.
There was no need to consume immense Mental Energy, no need for the power to tear; only the perception of space was required.
Wang Lin turned another page.
