29: Chapter 29 Battle Against the [God of Swords]

Before he could finish his sentence, Wang Lin was already in front of him.

A Tentacle shot out from his palm and wrapped around his neck.

The bone spurs on the Tentacle pierced into his skin, and fresh blood began to flow down his neck.

The Rock-type Calamity struggled, using both hands to pull at the Tentacle.

His strength was immense; that Rockification skin made him several times stronger than an ordinary person.

But Wang Lin's Tentacles were faster than him.

Two more Tentacles simultaneously pierced into his chest and abdomen.

He let out a miserable shriek, his body convulsing violently.

That thick, heavy power began to surge in through the Tentacles.

Wang Lin closed his eyes, feeling that power rampaging through his body, and a look of enjoyment appeared on his face.

A few seconds later, the Tentacles automatically loosened.

The corpse of the Rock-type Calamity collapsed limply to the ground.

Wang Lin lowered his head, looking at his own hands.

Beneath the skin, a faint layer of gray was vaguely visible.

The power of Rockification had made his Tentacles even tougher.

He raised his head and looked toward the last person.

Commander Leí Héng stood where he was, his hand holding the blade trembling slightly.

"If I say I surrender now, can you let me go?"

Wang Lin did not speak.

He simply continued to walk forward.

One step.

Commander Leí Héng took a step back.

Two steps.

Commander Leí Héng took another step back.

Three steps.

Commander Leí Héng's back hit the stone wall.

There was nowhere left to retreat.

His face was full of fear, his eyes were filled with pleading, and his lips were quivering.

Wang Lin continued to walk forward.

Five meters.

Four meters.

Three meters.

The distance of two zhang vanished in an instant.

Just at the moment Wang Lin stepped into that two-zhang range,

the fear on Commander Leí Héng's face vanished.

Replacing it was a smile of a scheme successfully executed.

"Kid, you've fallen for it."

The long blade left its sheath.

The blade light was faster, fiercer, and more accurate than any time before.

It was not aimed at Wang Lin's neck, but rather slashed at the Tentacle that had just shot out beneath his feet.

The blade light flashed by.

The Tentacle was severed at the sound.

Wang Lin frowned, his body lost its balance, and he stumbled forward a step.

It was exactly this step.

Commander Leí Héng's blade was already raised again, the blade light heading straight for his face.

Within two zhang, at the same level, there was nothing he could not sever.

That Petrification Tentacle from just a moment ago was the best proof.

Wang Lin's pupils constricted, and he dodged to the side with all his might.

The blade edge grazed his cheek, shaving off a lock of hair and leaving a thin bloodstain.

If he had been half a second slower, it would have been his head that was shaved off.

Commander Leí Héng did not give him a chance to catch his breath.

The second strike had already arrived.

Wang Lin tapped his feet repeatedly, his whole body drifting back two meters.

But Commander Leí Héng was faster.

It was as if he had long expected Wang Lin to retreat; the blade light followed like a shadow, in hot pursuit.

Wang Lin gritted his teeth, and three Tentacles shot out simultaneously, thrusting toward Commander Leí Héng.

Commander Leí Héng did not dodge or avoid.

With a swing of his long blade, the three Tentacles were severed at the root.

The severed Tentacles fell to the ground, still twitching and writhing.

Wang Lin let out a muffled groan and stumbled backward.

Those Tentacles were a part of his body; the pain of being severed rushed straight to his brain, as if someone had forcibly chopped off three of his fingers.

Commander Leí Héng held his blade and pressed forward step by step.

"Run, why aren't you running anymore?"

Wang Lin clutched the wound where his Tentacles had been severed, blood seeping out from between his fingers.

He looked at Commander Leí Héng, and for the first time, a look of gravity appeared in his eyes.

A LV3 Blade God was indeed not so easy to kill.

Commander Leí Héng looked at him and laughed.

"Kid, you really do have some tricks."

"People who can force me to use my full strength don't exceed five in these three years."

He raised his blade, the tip pointing at Wang Lin's throat.

"But you forgot one thing."

"Within two zhang, I am invincible."

As the words fell, the blade light rose again.

This time, it was faster, fiercer, and more absolute.

Wang Lin no longer had a way to retreat.

Behind him was the cold stone wall, and in front of him was Commander Leí Héng's blade.

Life and death in an instant.

A flash of light suddenly appeared in Wang Lin's eyes.

It was not fear.

It was madness.

He did not retreat again.

Instead, he charged forward, meeting that blade light head-on.

Commander Leí Héng's pupils shrank.

He had never seen this kind of person; facing a fatal blade strike, not dodging or avoiding, but instead charging forward?

The sound of the blade edge piercing into flesh was clearly audible.

The long blade pierced through Wang Lin's left shoulder and out his back, fresh blood flowing down the blade.

But he did not stop.

He continued to charge forward, letting the blade pierce deeper,

until the hilt pressed against his shoulder, until the distance between him and Commander Leí Héng was less than half a meter.

Commander Leí Héng was stunned.

He had slashed many people and killed many opponents, but he had never seen this fighting style,

using one's own body to lock the enemy's blade.

"You..."

His words were not finished.

Wang Lin's right hand had already clamped onto his throat.

That hand was covered in a layer of faint gray; that was the power of Rockification.

Commander Leí Héng's eyes widened.

He wanted to pull the blade out, but the blade was jammed by Wang Lin's body.

He wanted to retreat, but his throat was clamped tightly by that hand, like an iron vice.

"You are invincible within two zhang, but what about within half a meter?"

A rattling sound came from Commander Leí Héng's throat, his face turning beet red.

He used all his strength to smash a fist into Wang Lin's chest.

Bang!

Wang Lin spat out a mouthful of blood but did not let go.

Commander Leí Héng punched again.

And again.

Wang Lin's chest caved in, and he did not know how many ribs were broken, but he still did not let go.

He just stared fixedly into Commander Leí Héng's eyes, the corners of his mouth slowly curling into an arc.

That smile caused a chill never felt before to rise in Commander Leí Héng's heart.

"You... you're crazy..."

Wang Lin did not answer.

His head began to change.

The skin peeled back to the surroundings, revealing rings of fangs inside; that face instantly turned into a giant maw.

The giant maw opened, aimed at Commander Leí Héng's head.

Commander Leí Héng's eyes widened to the point of nearly bursting.

"No—!"

His scream came to an abrupt end.

The giant maw closed.

Crunch.

Crunch.

The sound of chewing echoed in the mist.

A few seconds later, Wang Lin's giant maw loosened and restored into a human face.

He let go of the hand clamping Commander Leí Héng's neck, and the headless corpse collapsed limply to the ground.

Wang Lin stumbled a step and reached out to support himself against the stone wall.

The long blade was still stuck in his left shoulder, and fresh blood flowed down his arm.

His chest was caved in, and the broken ribs pierced his lungs; every breath felt like being cut by a blade.

But he remained standing.

He lowered his head, looking at Commander Leí Héng's corpse.

Then he gripped the hilt of the blade on his shoulder.

He pulled it out violently.

"Urgh!"

With a muffled groan, blood spurted out.

He threw the blade to the ground, supporting himself against the stone wall with one hand, gasping for air.

The blood was still flowing, the wounds were still painful, but he could no longer attend to those things.

He lowered his head, looking at the headless corpse on the ground.

Commander Leí Héng.

A LV3 Blade God.

Wang Lin's eyes lit up; he squatted down, reached out, and pressed his hand onto Commander Leí Héng's chest.

Three Tentacles burst out from his back and thrust viciously into Commander Leí Héng's corpse.

The suction cups on the Tentacles began to writhe frantically.

A violent, sharp power surged in through the Tentacles.

That was Commander Leí Héng's source.

Sequence 067, [Blade God].

Unlike the abilities swallowed before, this power was more condensed and sharper,

like countless invisible blades roaming through his blood vessels, cutting his flesh, and yet merging into one with his flesh.
