230: The USS Big Bear was saved

"Now, everyone immediately attach the remaining tow ropes, pay attention to even spacing, quickly!" After Niu De gave the order, the nine people immediately began attaching the tow ropes they had prepared to the reserved Spaces around the hull of the great bear submarine.

"Hurry up, otherwise the flowing seawater will push the great bear off the peak, causing it to tilt. Once it tilts, it will cause secondary damage to the great bear."

Niu De shouted loudly while quickly attaching the tow ropes.

"Report, I have finished attaching the three tow ropes on the left side of the hull."

"Report, I have finished attaching the three tow ropes on the right side of the hull."

"Report, the three tow ropes on the left side of the bow are attached."

"Report, I have attached the three tow ropes on the right side of the bow."

"Report..."

Everyone quickly swam to their assigned locations, attached the tow ropes, and reported back in the shortest possible time.

At this moment, Explorer II had moved directly above the great bear, and over thirty tow ropes were firmly attached around the great bear.

"Explorer II cockpit, now listen to my command, ascend at a 15° angle towards the bow of the great bear, speed 2.5 knots."

"This is Explorer II, executing a 15° angled ascent towards the bow of the great bear, speed 2.5 knots."

After the pilot reported, the great bear moved away from the edge of the peak. The bow instantly gained freedom, and the stern followed the bow's movement. The entire great bear slipped out from between the two peaks.

"Success! Success!" Kayaski cheered happily.

After feeling a slight tremor inside the great bear submarine, the officers and soldiers slowly stabilized. Ivanov knew that the great bear was saved.

"Alright, let's return to Explorer II immediately and prepare to head back." Niu De breathed a sigh of relief. The most difficult work was done. Now, it was just a matter of carefully heading towards home.

"Let's go, we're going home!" Liu Xiaolin said excitedly.

The group of nine quickly returned to Explorer II. When they saw the living compartment filled with Great Bear Country officers and soldiers, they didn't know where they should sit.

"Let's go to the cockpit. There should be Space for a few of us there," Niu De sighed.

"Shouldn't we eat something? Down here at the bottom of the sea, where there's no difference between day and night, I don't know when to eat my three meals. When I feel hungry, I just want to eat something," Liu Xiaolin said, rubbing his rumbling stomach.

"It's already past ten in the evening. We haven't had dinner, so of course we're hungry," Niu De said.

"Where did they put our Space meals?" Liu Xiaolin said, swallowing.

"When the Great Bear Country officers and soldiers boarded the submarine, I moved them all to the storage room next to the cockpit. The storage rooms in the living compartment are all filled with bread, ham, and canned meat prepared for them. I don't like those things," a pilot said.

"Smart! You can have an extra Space meal later, haha," Liu Xiaolin said cheerfully.

At this moment, someone had already brought a box of Space meals.

"Hurry and eat, I'm really starving." Liu Xiaolin saw the Space meals and called everyone to eat a dinner that was even later than a late-night snack.

While everyone was eating ravenously, Niu De didn't forget to monitor the great bear on the big screen to ensure it was stable.

"It's fine, our tow ropes are very strong, there won't be any problems," Liu Xiaolin said, chewing on shredded pork with fish flavor.

"Are we going to leave the High Seas first, and then head directly to Great Bear Country?" Niu De asked.

"We'll have to ask Kayaski about that." Liu Xiaolin glanced at Kayaski. "Have you communicated with the Great Bear Country military? Which port area should we tow the great bear to?"

After finishing one Space meal, Kayaski picked up a second one. "I haven't communicated with the military yet, but Ivanov must have finished communicating. I'll ask him later. Let's eat first, eat first."

Liu Xiaolin thought to himself that it would take nearly two days to leave the High Seas. He had only prepared enough food for them for two meals. Oh right, there should still be some food left on their submarine, which should be barely enough.

After eating, Kayaski began contacting the great bear. The communication device he brought now had a use.

"Ivanov, this is Kayaski. Please respond if you receive this."

"This is Ivanov, please speak."

"Ivanov, have you communicated with the military headquarters?"

"I just finished communicating with the military headquarters using your communication device. The military headquarters' intention is to have General Manager Liu take our great bear to Dragon Country and have his company directly help us with the repairs."

"Why?" Kayaski was very confused.

"As you know, one submarine undergoing major repairs is already docked at our Great Bear Country submarine repair port. We won't have anywhere to dock when we go back, and we don't know when they can help us fix it."

"Does Dragon Country allow our great bear to enter their territorial waters?" Kayaski became anxious.

"The military headquarters has already communicated with the Dragon Country military, and they have agreed. Once we reach the edge of the High Seas, all the officers and soldiers from the great bear can transfer to the warship waiting there and return home directly. Only I and some officers and soldiers will stay with the great bear and go to Dragon Country to monitor the repair process." Ivanov had already asked everything that needed to be asked.

"Alright then, I'll tell General Manager Liu about this matter," Kayaski said.

When he looked up, he saw Liu Xiaolin and Niu De looking at him with confused expressions. It seemed neither of them understood the Great Bear Country language.

"There's a new situation I need to discuss with you," Kayaski said.

"Hurry up and say it, don't dilly-dally," Liu Xiaolin said impatiently.

"Here's the thing, our military hopes to tow the great bear to Dragon Country and have you help us with the repairs." Although Kayaski also felt it wasn't quite appropriate, he still braced himself and said it.

"What? You guys are endless!" Liu Xiaolin became anxious as soon as he heard it. "Our contract is for search and rescue, okay? Why do we have to do repairs too?"

Niu De calmly pulled Liu Xiaolin back, looked at Kayaski, and said, "How will the repair costs be calculated?"

Kayaski shook his head and said, "I don't know about that yet. However, I think it should be based on your budget. You can provide a reasonable quote then, and if the military headquarters approves it, that will be fine."

Niu De glanced at Liu Xiaolin and said meaningfully, "Your great bear is damaged like this, the repair costs won't be low."

Liu Xiaolin received Niu De's look and immediately understood, "This is a job opportunity!"

They didn't make much money from the search and rescue mission. If they were to help with the major repair of the great bear submarine, they would have to prepare a detailed budget and a comprehensive quote with abundant raw materials!
