307: Hong Tongtong is sick

Liu Xiaolin waved his hand and quickly left the processing workshop.

He checked the time; it was almost twelve o'clock. He hadn't realized how the morning had flown by.

It was time to call Tongtong for lunch! Thinking of this, Liu Xiaolin hurried back to the dorm.

He knocked on the door for a long time before Hong Tongtong got up to open it for him. "I think I have a fever," she said.

"Huh? What's wrong? Are you sick?" Liu Xiaolin asked in surprise.

"I don't know, I've just been dizzy and feverish," Hong Tongtong said weakly.

"So should we go see a Dr. first or have lunch first?" Liu Xiaolin asked anxiously.

"Let's eat first. Even though I have a fever and feel dizzy, I'm still hungry." Hong Tongtong, who had slept all morning, was already hungry, but she was too dizzy to get up.

"Okay, let's eat first, and then I'll take you to Kunhe City hospital to get checked out," Liu Xiaolin said.

Liu Xiaolin watched Hong Tongtong listlessly washing up, listlessly changing her shoes, and listlessly following him downstairs. Somehow, he was still very worried.

You know, Hong Tongtong had always been full of life, lively and adorable. This listless state today was a bit frightening.

After arriving at the cafeteria, the two took their trays to get food. Liu Xiaolin took a lot of food as usual, while Hong Tongtong only took half of her normal amount.

"You're only eating this much?" Liu Xiaolin asked with some concern.

"I feel tired and sleepy. I just want to finish eating quickly and go back to sleep," Hong Tongtong said softly.

He saw her stuffing food into her mouth desperately, as if she were trying to complete a task.

As long as she still felt hungry and could eat, it shouldn't be anything serious. Thinking this, Liu Xiaolin felt much more relieved, and he also started eating heartily. He planned to drive Hong Tongtong to the hospital after eating.

As they were finishing their lunch, Li Zhaolong and his group came over to eat.

"Why is Tongtong so haggard right after coming back? It looks like she's been doing physical labor for days," Li Zhaolong said, looking at Hong Tongtong, and feeling something was off.

"Tongtong has a bit of a fever and feels dizzy. Her appetite isn't as good as before either. I'm planning to take her to see a Dr. right away," Liu Xiaolin explained.

Hong Tongtong felt her head was heavy like lead, making it difficult to lift. She rested her head on Liu Xiaolin's shoulder and greeted Li Zhaolong, "Professor Li, are you just coming to eat? I'm fine, maybe I'll be better after sleeping for a couple of days."

"It seems you had too much fun the past couple of days and caught a cold, didn't you? The temperature difference between Huaao City and our Kunhe City is quite significant," Li Zhaolong said.

"Maybe so," Hong Tongtong whispered.

"Alright, you guys go eat quickly. We're finished, and I'm taking her to see a Dr. now," Liu Xiaolin said, quickly finishing the food on his tray in a couple of bites.

"Okay, go quickly. It's a minor issue, she should be better soon," Li Zhaolong didn't take it too seriously.

Liu Xiaolin took Hong Tongtong and sped towards the city hospital in his black loves gift no. 1.

There were a lot of people at the hospital, lining up for registration and waiting for their turn. They only entered the consultation room after more than an hour.

The Dr. listened to her heartbeat, checked her eyelids, measured her temperature, and asked about the patient's condition. He casually said, "It's nothing, just a minor cold. You'll be fine after taking some medicine."

After saying that, he prescribed a pile of cold medicine. "Go pay the fee and get the medicine."

Liu Xiaolin led the listless Hong Tongtong downstairs again to queue for payment and queue for medicine. After all that, Liu Xiaolin was covered in sweat, while Hong Tongtong remained listless.

"Okay, we've got the medicine. Let's go back, take the medicine, and then you can sleep some more. You should be better tomorrow," Liu Xiaolin trusted the Dr.'s judgment very much.

However, when he went to find Hong Tongtong after work, he still saw the same listless, dizzy, and feverish Hong Tongtong.

"Illnesses come like a collapsing mountain and leave like drawing silk; you need to recover slowly," Liu Xiaolin comforted her.

"It's nothing, I just have a fever and feel dizzy, and I don't have much appetite. Everything else is fine," Hong Tongtong said, also claiming she was fine, afraid Liu Xiaolin would worry.

For dinner, Hong Tongtong still ate only a little. After eating, she went back to the dorm, took her medicine, and lay back on the bed, still wanting to sleep.

Liu Xiaolin was helpless at this point. She had seen a Dr. and taken medicine, but why wasn't there any improvement?

"Have you ever had this before?" Liu Xiaolin asked.

"I seem to remember having it once when I was little, but I don't know how I got better," Hong Tongtong whispered.

"Then how about I call your Mom and ask?" Liu Xiaolin came up with an idea.

"Forget it, it will make Dad and Mom worry. Besides, didn't they say they'd come back to Kunhe City to see me in a few days? I can ask them then," Hong Tongtong didn't want her parents to worry.

"Alright, maybe you'll be better in a few days," Liu Xiaolin said. "You go back to sleep then. I put a pot of warm water by your bed; you can drink it whenever you're thirsty. If anything happens, call me, and I'll come right over."

"Just stay here with me. I'm afraid I won't even have the strength to call you later," Hong Tongtong said drowsily.

Liu Xiaolin was also worried about Hong Tongtong, so he went back to his dorm, moved all his bedding over, and made a makeshift bed on the floor.

"I'll make a bed on the floor in your room. If anything happens, just call me, and I'll wake up right away," Liu Xiaolin said.

"Oh..." Hong Tongtong said softly and then fell asleep.

That night, Hong Tongtong still had a fever. Although it wasn't a high fever, a persistent low fever was also very concerning.

Liu Xiaolin woke up from time to time to ask her if she wanted water or if she was uncomfortable.

The result was that neither of them got enough rest.

After getting up in the morning, both of them, with dark circles under their eyes, didn't go to the cafeteria to eat. After having some snacks, Hong Tongtong took a pile of cold medicine and went back to sleep. Liu Xiaolin also felt very sleepy, so he caught up on sleep on the makeshift bed.

At noon, after Liu Xiaolin had slept enough, he got up to check on Hong Tongtong. She was still drowsy and listless.

"The cold medicine the Dr. prescribed is completely useless. It has no effect at all. What should I do?" Liu Xiaolin finally started to get anxious.

He had originally planned to go to Langfang Fine Carving today to check on the training situation, but with Hong Tongtong in this state, how could he leave?

"How about I secretly call Tongtong's Mom and ask?" Liu Xiaolin thought.

Deciding to act immediately, he looked at Hong Tongtong, who was occasionally drowsily glancing at him, and said, "I'm going back to my dorm to get something. I'll be right back. You go back to sleep."

After Hong Tongtong nodded, Liu Xiaolin returned to his dorm and dialed Tong Mingzhu's mobile number.

"Auntie, it's Xiaolin." As soon as the call connected, Liu Xiaolin quickly said, "Tongtong has had a fever and felt dizzy since yesterday. She saw a Dr. and took medicine, but she still hasn't gotten better today."

"What? She has a fever? Has she been sleeping soundly all the time?" Tong Mingzhu asked in surprise.
