403: Chapter 403 Jiang You's Superpowers Are Unsealed

[August 30th, Weather: Sunny to Cloudy]

"So many strange things happened today."

"The streets outside are full of police cars with sirens wailing, blaring all day long, keeping me from getting any sleep. There are roadblocks at the intersections, and the armed police holding anti-riot shields look pale, their hands shaking."

"The lady next door is too scared to even leave her house, and the internet is blowing up with all sorts of crazy posts. Some say a man-eating monster appeared in the south of the city, while others claim they saw a fire-breathing lizard flying in the sky."

"It's absolutely ridiculous. These netizens must be reading too many novels; where would monsters come from? It's probably just a wild boar that escaped from some zoo, right? I have to hand in my math paper tomorrow, so I can't be bothered with this nonsense. Time to sleep."

The pages turned again.

But this time, the handwriting on the paper had completely changed.

The originally casual, somewhat lazy penmanship suddenly became so forceful it pierced through the paper!

Every stroke seemed to carry a malevolence that could pierce the page, and the tips of the characters exuded a coldness and despair that seemed capable of destroying everything.

[September 3rd]

"They're all dead."

"My childhood friends, the lady next door, the street vendor at the intersection... they were all killed like ants by a guy shrouded in black clouds."

"Rivers of blood, severed limbs everywhere."

"They were telling the truth; this world... has truly changed."

"I seem to have changed too. From the moment they died tragically in front of me, something inside me shattered completely."

"I don't know what happened to this godforsaken world, but I do know that the original laws and rules have been trampled into mud."

"The strong can mercilessly and wantonly dictate the lives of the weak."

"Since that's the case..."

"Then why can't I be the one standing at the pinnacle of this world?"

"I have awakened the most powerful, most unreasonable Supernatural Ability in this world."

"It feels like a treasure trove of gods is hidden within my body."

"I'm heading out. Today is the last day I'll write in this diary, although I didn't even keep up with this crappy diary for very long."

"I don't know how future generations will define this day. But if I had to give it a name, I'll use the term those killers fanatically shouted."

"Today is the first day of the Spiritual Energy Recovery!"

...

The crisp reading voice came to an abrupt halt.

In the dim underground secret chamber, the flickering candlelight elongated the reflections of the two people.

Holding the black diary with the cracked cover was a young woman dressed in ancient attire.

She wore a simple and elegant pale pink floral palace gown, her jet-black long hair simply tied up with a white jade hairpin, with a few strands of hair falling beside her swan-like fair neck.

The woman's skin was so fair it seemed like it could squeeze out water, and her delicate, small, oval-shaped face naturally carried a liveliness and vivacity that made one want to get close to her.

But at this moment, this exquisitely beautiful face was full of complexity, and her delicate brows were tightly knitted together.

Directly in front of her, on the thick dark iron wall, a young man in ragged black clothes was tightly chained with thick refined steel chains.

The man in black had an unusually calm expression; even though he was in dire straits, there was not a hint of panic in his pitch-black eyes. Instead, the corners of his mouth curled up slightly, and he let out a cold laugh filled with mockery:

"Don't you think it's very impolite to read someone else's private diary without the owner's consent? Your Highness, The Fourth Princess."

Hearing these slightly mocking words, the woman in ancient attire frowned slightly.

She clutched the hem of her clothes tightly, her knuckles turning white from the force.

"You... are you really from another world?"

The woman took a deep breath, suppressing her heaving chest, her voice trembling: "And, is your name really Jiang You?"

Jiang You, chained to the stone pillar, was expressionless, his abyss-like black eyes quietly watching her:

"That's right. Now that you've seen my diary with your own eyes, you should be willing to believe what I said, right?"

"I told you long ago that I am not some assassin with ulterior motives, nor am I a spy sent to probe the secrets of your dynasty."

Jiang You's voice was calm and powerful, every word clearly striking the stone floor of the secret chamber:

"I am hunting down an extremely... no, a guy who is dangerous to the extreme."

"Like me, he descended into your world through a spatial passage. In other words, I had to infiltrate your Princess's Mansion in order to eliminate him. Do you understand?"

Hearing this, this Fourth Princess of the Great Zhou Dynasty felt a flash of deep struggle and hesitation in her eyes.

Jiang You looked at the Princess who was still struggling, feeling a wave of helplessness inside.

Who knew this dungeon world would be so strange, sealing off the Supernatural Ability within an outsider completely upon entry!

He hadn't even managed to use the slightest bit of defensive measures before landing directly in the backyard of the Princess's Mansion.

In order to lay low here and find out the whereabouts of the other person, Jiang You had to pretend to be honest and simple. Relying on his superb culinary skills and handsome appearance, he gained the trust of this little Princess and managed to land a menial job serving tea and water in the mansion.

Everything was proceeding according to plan, but just the day before yesterday, while searching for clues in the study, he was framed by someone with bad intentions, and along with that, the scattered items on him that "did not belong to this world" were also discovered.

The panicked little Princess then threw this "little servant" she had trusted for nearly a month into this dungeon.

Fortunately, the seal on Jiang You's Supernatural Ability in this world had completely ended today; counting it all up, it was a full month!

The Fourth Princess clutched the hem of her clothes tightly, her big eyes misty, full of struggle and hesitation.

Although Jiang You's diary was filled with all sorts of strange terms she couldn't understand at all, such as "Supernatural Ability", "spongebob", "police car", and "netizens".

But the loneliness that transcended time and space contained in the diary, as well as the killing intent and coldness that almost overflowed from the lines in the latter part, did not seem like they were faked at all.

But even so...

"I'm sorry."

The Fourth Princess bit her slightly rosy lower lip, and finally shook her head with some hesitation:

"Your origin is truly too sensational. As a princess of Great Zhou, I cannot just listen to your one-sided story."

She looked at Jiang You almost pleadingly, and negotiated in a soft voice:

"Can you give me a few more days? I will go to my father the Emperor, or use the private soldiers of my mansion to help you investigate the whereabouts of that dangerous person you mentioned. As long as I find clues about him..."

However.

Before The Fourth Princess could finish these gentle words.

Jiang You, leaning against the stone pillar, suddenly had dazzling deep blue light burst from his eyes, which had previously been somewhat dim!

"I'm sorry."

Jiang You interrupted her bluntly with a cold, emotionless voice:

"It's been a full month."

"I don't have the free time to keep wasting it here with you people!"
