41: Chapter 41 is indeed a good place to retire.

On the campus shuttle bus.

The vehicle headed west, passing through the bustling main campus, with the scenery becoming increasingly desolate.

Jiang You looked at the weeds and old red-brick buildings gradually appearing outside the window, his brows furrowing tighter and tighter.

He finally couldn't hold it in anymore, turned his head, and stared fixedly at Teacher Gu Yan:

"Teacher Gu."

"Did you take the wrong road?"

"What about the promised five-star single apartment? What about the promised 24-hour constant temperature system?"

"This place looks like a construction site that's just been demolished! And why are all the streetlights broken?"

Teacher Gu Yan's hands gripping the steering wheel were covered in sweat as he awkwardly explained:

"That... Jiang You, the situation is like this."

"The five-star apartments are the configuration for Class A through Class E."

"You are now... *cough cough*, because your performance was overly excellent, you were specially approved by the principal to enter Class F."

Jiang You widened his eyes, his voice rising by an octave:

"So? Does Class F not deserve to sleep in a soft bed?!"

"This is false advertising! It's enrollment fraud! I want a refund! I want to go back to Jiangcheng and sleep in my snake-skin bag!"

Teacher Gu Yan hurriedly placated him, fearing that this top scorer would run away:

"Don't, don't, don't! Jiang You, listen to me!"

"Although Class F's hardware facilities... are a bit retro, full of the weight of history. But!"

"Class F possesses the only privilege in the entire school: absolute freedom!"

"Think about it, although Class A students live well, they have to run in the morning at six o'clock, have dorm inspections at ten o'clock at night, and are forced to complete 200 credits."

"But in Class F, as long as you pass your final exams, no one will care if you want to sleep in your dorm until you die!"

"Do you want a soft bed but to be woken up every day? Or do you want a hard bed but to be able to sleep until you wake up naturally?"

Jiang You was stunned for a moment.

He quickly calculated in his mind and reached a conclusion: "To ensure the duration of sleep, I can sacrifice some sleep quality. Besides, whether the bed is soft or not, I can buy one myself."

The anger on Jiang You's face instantly dissipated, replaced by a reluctant expression:

"Fine."

"Considering no one is in charge, I'll endure it."

"But what about the cafeteria? What about the promised Michelin chefs and high-energy medicinal meals? In this wilderness, are you expecting me to gnaw on tree bark?"

Teacher Gu Yan breathed a sigh of relief and hurriedly guaranteed:

"This is definitely available! Absolutely guaranteed!"

"Although Class F is a bit far from the central cafeteria, the school has a dedicated drone food delivery service!"

"And because there are few people in Class F, the funding is actually more sufficient. Whatever you want to eat, just order it on the terminal—there's plenty!"

Hearing the words "plenty," Jiang You's [stomach] made a satisfied rumbling sound.

"That's more like it." Jiang You leaned back against the seat, "Then I'll make do with living here."

...

The vehicle finally stopped in front of a huge red-brick building converted from an Abandoned Gymnasium.

A crooked wooden sign hung at the gate, with a large [F] written in paint.

The surroundings were overgrown with weeds, and there were even a few crows cawing.

Behind the Gymnasium, one could faintly see a similarly old three-story building, which should be the dormitory area.

Jiang You got out of the car carrying his snake-skin bag, looking at this "ruin-style" complex, and asked the key question:

"Teacher Gu, this place looks pretty big; how many people are actually in our Class F?"

"Don't tell me hundreds of people are squeezed into a big bunkhouse; I won't do that."

Teacher Gu Yan gave a bitter smile and held up two fingers to gesture:

"Hundreds of people? You're overthinking it."

"Class F is the Research Center for Abnormal Humans; there aren't that many freaks."

"Including you, there are only 14 students currently enrolled."

"14?"

Jiang You raised an eyebrow, "That's fine, not too crowded."

Teacher Gu Yan nodded and introduced in detail:

"Among these 14 people, there are 9 boys and 5 girls."

"See that building behind? It was converted from the former staff dormitory. The second floor is the boys' dormitory, and the third floor is the girls' dormitory."

"Usually, the boys and girls both hang out in the Gymnasium in front—that is, the public lounge area."

Speaking of which, Teacher Gu Yan lowered his voice and leaned mysteriously into Jiang You's ear:

"Jiang You, Teacher has to give you a warning."

"Although Class F has few people, the waters run deep."

"The students here are either isolated because their Supernatural Ability is too dangerous, or ostracized because their personalities are too weird."

"Especially those girls..."

Teacher Gu Yan shivered, as if recalling some terrifying memory:

"They live on the third floor, don't go wandering up there if you don't have to!"

Jiang You blinked: "It's that exciting?"

"Here is your access card; Teacher will only take you this far."

"Remember, the rule of Class F is... whoever has the biggest fist is right. If you really can't beat them, run; it's not shameful!"

After finishing, Teacher Gu Yan shoved the card to Jiang You like it was a hot potato, stepped on the gas, and the shuttle bus belched black smoke and fled as if chased by evil spirits.

Jiang You stood at the empty gate, holding the card.

"14 people occupying such a large area."

"Hundreds of square meters per person; this isn't exile, it's clearly being a local emperor!"

Looking at the half-open iron gate, he wasn't afraid; instead, he was even more satisfied.

Fewer people is good; fewer people means peace and quiet, and no one to steal his food.

[Internal Chat Group]

[Kidneys (sniff sniff)]:

"Hmm? Although this place is dilapidated, it seems there's a micro spirit vein buried underneath?"

"Teacher Gu Yan that kid didn't tell the truth; although the facilities here are rotten, the feng shui is the best in the school!"

"I've profited! This is a huge profit!"

[Brain]:

"Warning. There is a physical trap behind the door."

"According to energy fluctuation analysis, it is a heavy object suspension device."

"This kind of child's play... ignore it directly."

In reality.

Jiang You extended his [Right Hand] and pushed the iron gate open nonchalantly.

"Is anyone here? The new guy is here to make up the numbers!"

Just as the door was pushed open.

A huge, dark shadow, accompanied by the sound of breaking wind, smashed down fiercely from above the door frame!

It was a solid heavy tire weighing two hundred pounds, used for strength training!

If it were an ordinary student, this hit would have sent them straight to the hospital.

However.

[Right Hand]:

"What is blocking the light?"

"Get out of the way."

In reality.

Jiang You felt a dark shadow flicker before his eyes.

He thought it was a big moth, so he subconsciously and lazily waved his hand upward.

A loud bang.

The two-hundred-pound tire was slapped away by Jiang You, tracing a perfect parabola in the air before crashing into a pile of debris deep in the hall, kicking up a cloud of dust.

Jiang You waved away the dust in front of him and walked in with a look of disgust: "The cleaning lady at this school is too irresponsible; why is she throwing trash around?"

Inside the Class F public hall.

Originally, this was an indoor basketball court, now converted into a huge multi-functional area.

Although messy, it was a lived-in kind of mess.

At this moment, in the vast space, three people were passing the time in their own ways.

On the sofa on the left, a boy wearing thick-rimmed glasses with messy, bird's nest-like hair was curled up in a blanket, his hands frantically typing on the keyboard, roaring at the three screens in front of him: "Healer! Where is the healer! Hurry and heal! I'm about to die!"

Beside the weight rack on the right, a strong man wearing a sports vest, with so much muscle that it was somewhat deformed, was holding a barbell weighing several hundred pounds with one hand, doing squats while admiring his biceps in the mirror: "Perfect! These lines! This pumped-up feeling! This is the romance of a man!"

And on a desk in the center.

A boy with a buzz cut, wearing a black leather jacket, playing with a high-tech alloy dagger in his hand, was sitting with his legs crossed, staring coldly at the door.

The three of them heard the loud bang of the tire being slapped away and simultaneously stopped what they were doing.

The internet-addicted boy poked his head out from behind the screen and pushed up his glasses: "Holy crap? The tire flew away? Is this new guy a Strength-type?"

The muscular man put down the barbell, his eyes lighting up: "A two-hundred-pound tire slapped away with one hand? He's got some strength; can he arm-wrestle me?"

And in the center, the buzz-cut boy sitting on the desk playing with the dagger—Lu Xingye, his face darkened.

He was the one who set the trap.

Just a moment ago, he didn't even see how the newcomer made his move.

Lu Xingye narrowed his eyes, the alloy dagger in his hand spinning rapidly between his fingers, tracing cold flashes of light.

He jumped off the table, and with the other two, blocked Jiang You's path in a triangle formation.

"New guy?"

Lu Xingye's voice was cold, carrying an innate arrogance and sharpness: "Brought here by that coward Teacher Gu Yan?"

"Do you know the rules of Class F?"

The dagger in his hand suddenly pointed at the tip of Jiang You's nose, and he said arrogantly: "Once you enter this door, take three of my slashes first. Those who can stand are brothers; those who can't... get lost to the infirmary!"

The atmosphere was instantly tense.

The muscular man Xiang Batian and the internet-addicted boy Bai Zimo behind were waiting to see the newcomer make a fool of himself.

However.

As the person involved, Jiang You's focus at this moment was completely off track.

He looked at the three weird roommates in front of him.

No fear, instead... a sigh of relief.

"Whew..."

"Good, good."

"The gamer, the gym rat, and the acrobat."

"They all look like they don't do real work; this is truly a good place for retirement."
