118: Two-pronged scheme

Seeing that Lance was indeed fine, Amy immediately took her leave, as if afraid Lance would keep pestering her.

Lance also immediately went back to normal, flopping onto the sofa like a puddle of liquid.

Tu Nan tilted her head toward the door and asked her, "Someone you knew from before?"

Lance shook her head, casually picking a fruit from the fruit bowl and munching on it as she answered vaguely, "Met her on the flight. Just teasing her."

“Give it a rest,” Tu Nan said helplessly. “Didn't you notice she's guarding against you like you're some kind of pervert?”

Lance chuckled; it seemed she not only knew but found it quite amusing.

“I have serious business with you.” Tu Nan didn't bother lecturing her further, unceremoniously dragging her up from the sofa to make room for herself.

Lance spat out a fruit pit and gestured for her to speak.

Tu Nan’s opening line was earth-shattering: “Do you know any assassins or underworld types? Could you help me place an order?”

Lance’s mouth was still chewing, and after a few seconds, she suddenly asked in shock, “How did you know we do that...”

“You mean your base... is assassins? Or the underworld?”

Lance blinked for a long time before asking cautiously, “You guessed?”

“I know now,” Tu Nan said expressionlessly, then offered Lance some sincere advice.

“Seriously, stop shaking off the people your mother assigned to you. I’m afraid you'll die young.”

Lance didn't care about such trifles; she was more interested in what Tu Nan had said.

“What are you planning? Who do you want to take out? Or are you kidnapping Kong Jiamu?”

“But he’s not just military; he’s also the Emperor’s favorite general. That would be too much trouble...”

She was actually considering it seriously.

Tu Nan was speechless.

“I’m not that reckless. I just want to find someone to put on a show, but that person needs to be skilled enough not to get caught.”

“But I only have a preliminary idea. I haven't thought through the specifics yet.”

Tu Nan looked at the eager Lance and asked earnestly, “You’re the professional. Any suggestions?”

“So... you're saying that because you don't know if you're pregnant, you want a powerful reason to make it impossible for Kong Jiamu to leave you after we disembark?”

Tu Nan nodded and added, “I can keep a hold on him during the flight, but once we land, I don't have the ability to chase him all over the world.”

“Besides...” Tu Nan sneered.

“What he always wants is novelty. In his heart, my expiration date is only so long.” Tu Nan understood the temperament of such people very well.

“This time, I happened to get the medicine too. If I don't take the chance to secure him, it would be a huge loss!”

Lance boasted with a grin.

“It's not just talk; I really am the Incarnation of luck. If you hadn't met me, you really wouldn't be able to pull this off.”

“I have a way... to handle this and save you money at the same time.”

“Mainly because that bit of money you have is just too little. What could you even do with it?” She looked quite disdainfully at the balance of less than a million in Tu Nan’s account. “Our people aren't that cheap.”

She gave a wicked smile and leaned closer to Tu Nan.

“Remember The Peng Sisters? Let them pay for this. It's the perfect way to make use of those useless things.”

The two sisters hadn't appeared again, and Tu Nan had almost forgotten about them. She looked at Lance in confusion.

However, she saw Lance looking at her bracelet with a long face, complaining to Tu Nan, “I’m making a huge sacrifice for you. You'd better remember to help me out more in the future.”

Tu Nan watched her operate. She discovered that everyone in Lance's ridiculous contact list was stuffed into the blacklist.

With great effort, Lance scrolled to the name she needed, plucked up her courage, and dialed the person's number.

The other party picked up instantly, followed by a cold, hard interrogation.

“Young Miss Lance, I have already reported to Madam. Green Fox is already waiting for you on Xiuyin Star. Please do not run around anymore; you know his abilities.”

He thought Lance would be discouraged, but to his surprise, Lance cheered loudly.

“Fox? He’s on Xiuyin Star? Wow, I really do get whatever I want! That’s great, I’ll go find him to place an order!” She was about to hang up, but then thought better of it and added magnanimously.

“Alright, Li. Don't worry, you're losing your hair so fast, and I haven't researched a hair growth potion yet. I'll be staying on Xiuyin Star for a while, so relax.” She hung up the call.

She happily explained to Tu Nan.

This Fox was an A+ Rank, one of the pillars of their base, and specialized in stealth. In a place where an S- Rank like Kong Jiamu was present, only someone just one Rank lower would have a chance of retreating safely after causing trouble.

Lance happily called Fox and finalized the prototype of the mission.

As for the commission amount, Fox would have to work for it himself. She merely provided the names of The Peng Sisters and their conflict with Pearl.

Just as Lance viewed Tu Nan, once Tu Nan viewed Lance as a bystander, she was equally startled by Lance's madness.

But she finally understood why Lance, with her personality of causing trouble everywhere, could still live so well. The people cleaning up after her were just too formidable.

“I’m making such a big sacrifice. If Kong Jiamu doesn't step up, he'll really be letting me down,” Tu Nan complained.

Lance chuckled.

“I told you to switch, but you wouldn't. Then you'll just have to make Colonel Kong work harder.”

Tu Nan gave her a playful smack.

Thus, that evening, an anonymous communication number flashed on Peng Yining's bracelet.

She answered impatiently, and on the other side, a cold, damp voice poked directly at her heart.

“I heard that you two will be completely disgraced once you land. That’s truly tragic...”

“What are you talking about? I don't understand.” She held her ground, trying to figure out who this was.

The other side let out a few raspy cackles.

“Don't bother guessing; I’m just someone seeking profit. We specialize in providing services to important figures, so of course, we understand everyone's inner desires perfectly. What... don't you want that Blue Pearl to disappear?”

Peng Yining's heart thudded, and she clenched her hand into a fist.

Blue Pearl... She had been mulling it over these past few days, always feeling that all these coincidences were suspiciously convenient. She indeed had no evidence, but regardless, her life and her sister's life were ruined.

Yet that Female Beast was stepping over them to get cozy with Colonel Kong.

The crew members guarding them had taken their tips and didn't mind telling them some trivial details, as long as they didn't step out of their room.

The devil on the other side was still tempting her.

“Why do you need to think for so long? It’s only three million. Don't worry, she’s not some great noble, otherwise I wouldn't go looking for trouble. For instance, even if you offered thirty million... we wouldn't target Colonel Kong.”

Hearing this actually made her heart stir.

“Is three million too much for Blue Pearl's life? I don't have that much money.” She was tempted, but the price... Her sister only understood what she was talking about when she heard this. Peng Ninglu hadn't thought much about any of this; she simply wanted to vent her anger over her failure onto Tu Nan.

“Buy Blue Pearl's life? I'll pay half!” She would rather give up all the money she had to take that Female Beast's life.

“Ninglu!” Peng Yining wanted to make her stupid sister shut up, but it was too late; the other side had heard it too.

“Oh, ladies, then that's enough. I will send you the commission link. The money must arrive first. Rest assured, it's the largest dark web, with perfect protocols and the highest security Rank.”

“A friendly tip: the message will automatically delete after you place the order. Please remember your commission number~”

After the call ended, a link was sent in.

“Is this...” Peng Ninglu finally felt a bit uneasy. “Is it a scam?”

She wasn't feeling guilty about paying to take someone's life; she was just worried her money would go down the drain.

“It's real,” her sister said, shaking her head.

“I know, this is the dark web. It's real.”

Three million was transferred out.

A commission to take the life of a noble Female Beast named Blue Pearl, waiting at the Xiuyin Star spaceport, appeared on the dark web.

Instantly, it was accepted.
