195: Pinch the vital point
"This... isn't good, is it?"
He, he had always been very clear about separating his professional and personal life; he had never messed around during operations or in the military district office!
Besides...
"This is the Imperial Palace!" He had already let go of Tu Nan, using both hands to resist her nimble fingers, protecting his clothes... and his integrity.
"Be good."
Tu Nan pressed close to him, licked the small tuft of feathers by his ear, and then blew a soft breath against it.
She smiled as she saw a mesmerizing flush spread across his neck, accompanied by a layer of goosebumps that appeared and instantly faded.
"If you tear a button, you really won't be able to leave," she whispered beside his ear.
This threat was highly effective.
Kong Jiamu's struggle ceased, and his entire demeanor betrayed a rare state of panic.
Tu Nan sat steadily on the office desk, and seeing him thwarted, she actually felt a strange sense of superiority.
Aside from the necessary parts, this office romance wasn't without its merits, she thought.
Thanks to the fact that Kong Jiamu didn't know anything.
There had never been anything too heavy mixed in between the two of them, which allowed them to maintain a pure, mature offensive and defensive dynamic.
It was passion, desire, and pure physical enjoyment.
Tu Nan's recently tense and heavy mood had lightened up a bit.
Not only did the Children need him, Tu Nan thought, but she also needed him.
"Well... there's an attached lounge here, what do you say?"
Her toes slowly wandered to the base of his thigh, pressing down lightly like a cat's paw on a prey's vital point. With a gentle, deliberate step, a playful arc appeared at the corner of her mouth.
She gestured for Kong Jiamu to look at the concealed wooden door to the side.
Kong Jiamu's pupils constricted instantly.
His Adam's apple bobbed up and down, the panic faded from him, and the hands he had on Tu Nan's waist tightened abruptly.
"Alright then..." A dashing smile reappeared, and he regained his sense of control.
"You'd better be able to take it," he said.
"Hmm... It's my first day at work, and I didn't bring extra clothes, so... take it easy?"
Kong Jiamu tensed his jaw, hoisted her directly onto his shoulder, and walked straight toward that door.
"Then you cooperate."
"Don't kiss my neck... my colleagues will notice."
"My dear, you are so difficult to please." Although the peacock complained, he still carefully helped her take off her clothes, honestly avoiding her chest, neck, and other areas that were easily noticed.
Tu Nan smiled.
Kong Jiamu was actually... quite cute.
This small discussion within the office went on for three rounds, but it didn't take very long.
Perhaps this location was still too stimulating for him; the peacock had trouble restraining himself, and things went a bit fast.
At the moment, he was burying his head in the small bed's pillow, unwilling to face the reality.
Tu Nan had already rinsed off and dressed herself back up as she was. Seeing that he still wouldn't get up, she sighed and had to go over to coax him.
"Alright now... burying yourself like that... is equivalent to fanning your tail feathers and showing everyone your backside."
Kong Jiamu quickly pulled the quilt over himself and turned back in disbelief!
This Female Beast! She actually! Rubbed salt in his wounds.
Tu Nan sat on the edge of the bed with a smile, showed him the comb in her hand, and gestured for him to turn sideways.
Stroke by stroke, she combed through his large curly hair and skillfully braided it for him.
"I wasn't laughing at you," she said, touching the ends of his hair.
Kong Jiamu didn't believe her; her tone clearly still carried amusement.
"Really." Tu Nan pressed against his broad back, "I missed you too, so I understand."
Kong Jiamu was just that easy to coax; he turned around, quickly hugged Tu Nan, and then darted into the small bathroom.
A while later, he was finally back to looking like a proper human-bird.
After pressing the ventilation button in the office, the two walked along the corridor, keeping only half a step of distance between them.
Tu Nan decided to be attentive and see this hardworking person off.
"About the perfume you asked about earlier, what exactly is going on?"
She didn't expect him to still remember that; or rather, he never easily forgot anything Tu Nan mentioned.
"Oh..."
It was actually Tu Nan who had just remembered, as she had originally just asked about The Emperor's preferences in passing.
"Your Majesty knows about my company and asked me to bring him two bottles of perfume." Tu Nan delved into the topic, "Perfume for Your Majesty shouldn't just be those mass-produced versions... I was thinking of blending a unique one, registering it separately, and then presenting it as an offering?"
"You're certainly attentive," Kong Jiamu muttered, a bit of displaced jealousy welling up in his heart again.
"That one you blended for me, you mass-produced it right after tricking me." He was just saying that, of course; he knew that what was given to The Emperor could naturally not be compared to other products.
"But... perfume?" He was a bit puzzled.
"Your Majesty never uses perfume; he doesn't like having any extra scents on him. Because of this, when we go for an audience, we never wear perfume ourselves."
"Huh?" Then why did he bring up perfume? Could it be that he had already discovered something?
Tu Nan felt uneasy.
"Why don't you go ask..." Kong Jiamu said helplessly, "Maybe Your Majesty is just curious that a Female Beast like you is running a company. As for the perfume, if you really present it, he might not even be willing to accept it."
"Then I'll ask."
She didn't even need to wait past today for this question, as Lance had already shipped the base fragrances she needed with incredible speed. If she didn't need to blend perfume, she could save a lot of time.
Besides... don't look at how much she talked about her feelings yesterday; if she were really asked to blend such a contradictory scent herself.
Tu Nan really didn't know if her skills were up to the task.
So, that afternoon, after finishing her work at the research institute, Tu Nan turned around and went to The Emperor first.
* * *
"What, you want to go back on what you promised me?"
The Emperor listened to her finish a long speech and only drew this conclusion.
"... You've misunderstood!"
Being an Emperor was truly convenient; one could always be unreasonable. Tu Nan swallowed her resentment and explained: "I was just afraid that the perfume I made would be disliked by you."
"How would you know if you don't make it?" The Emperor snorted coldly. "What, you want to use me and then not pay the interest?"
? What is he talking about now! Tu Nan looked askance.
"Hain, I helped you send him away. Kong Jiamu, I delivered him right to your doorstep." The Emperor twirled his power ring, his expression very enigmatic.
"Grasping my Emperor's heart to profit yourself... and now that your wish is fulfilled, you want to burn the bridge after crossing it?"
"Have you ever thought that the shackles of The Emperor were put on by myself?" The Emperor's words grew heavier.
"Then if I really wanted to take off those shackles, what would you do?"
Tu Nan felt increasingly tense under the weight of his words.
Although she didn't know what kind of madness he was having, he was right; once an Emperor is made to have Life Qi...
Tu Nan remained silent, struggling to find that mysterious and elusive feeling.
Fortunately, after The Emperor's several bouts of torment, the method of switching between human form and Beast Form had practically become an open-book test.
The Emperor, seeing that she actually dared not to reply, grew even angrier.
But suddenly, the Female Beast collapsed, and from the pile of clothes on the ground... a black cat emerged elegantly.
That's right.
Such a difficult task as coaxing The Emperor should be left to the cat. Tu Nan stretched in place, and amidst The Emperor's shocked gaze, she cat-walked forward.
She placed her front paws on The Emperor's knees, stretched her body, and looked up at him.
"Meow~"
A fawning meow, which Tu Nan used without any pressure.
