150: Such a tragic fate
Amy watched from afar as the two adults and Two Children left and went next door.
She looked speechlessly at this Foster Mother who had been blessed with a beautiful face but was both stupid and wicked. No wonder Lance had secretly told her to be careful yesterday... Now she finally understood what she was supposed to be careful about.
But there was no need at all, sigh.
Provoking both Lady Pearl and Colonel Kong at the same time? This person's good luck had finally run out, and the rest of the road would likely be full of bumps and hardships.
Hmph!
"How are you going to deal with her?" Tu Nan asked.
"As you said, there were no preconditions for taking care of her." Kong Jiamu smiled indifferently. "I will find her a suitable household where she won't have to worry about food or clothing, and the mistress is fair and strict. Don't worry."
Tu Nan didn't say much this time. She had originally hoped that Sophia could work at her Kindergarten, thinking it would give her a job to support herself.
Forget it, let it be.
The four of them ate dinner together, while Lance and Yi Xingye hid outside.
After all, once the A-rank Yi Xingye appeared, Tu Nan might not even get a chance to explain before the Peacock dealt with him first.
"I see that Lan Xing has been growing quite fast lately. Not bad, not slacking off." Kong Jiamu tossed the little one, who had been forced to transform again, up toward the ceiling like a ball, observing his reaction speed.
"Lord Hain taught me." Ao Ao could still reply while in mid-air.
Kong Jiamu raised an eyebrow.
"As expected, has he taken a liking to you too?" He caught the little one and took a bite of his wolf ears. "You are my disciple, do you hear me? You are not allowed to acknowledge Hain as your Master."
Miao Miao watched eagerly from the side as Ao Ao was tossed around casually, pouting as she interjected: "Father Hain wouldn't do that." Father Hain liked her the most.
"Miao Miao! Don't talk nonsense." Tu Nan took Miao Miao into her arms from the chair, coaxing her while stopping her through their link.
Miao Miao buried her head in her mother's arms and went silent.
Kong Jiamu, however, had stopped his movements, lost in thought. After looking at Miao Miao twice, he asked Tu Nan: "Does Miao Miao... also have Talent?"
He was very sharp. There was really no need to hide it from him anymore, so Tu Nan gave him a vague answer regarding the timing.
"Yes, once Hain found out, he said he would adopt her as his goddaughter."
"Not bad... Hain, stealing my people while I was away." Kong Jiamu gritted his teeth.
And to actually adopt her as a goddaughter, as expected of Hain, doing bad things in broad daylight.
Look, if both S-rank seedlings had been discovered by him, how much face would that have given him in front of Your Majesty? Now one had been taken away.
"Forget it, forget it." He narrowed his eyes, protesting with a half-smile: "It's all because my Pearl is not of one mind with me, not thinking of me for such good things."
Tu Nan kissed the Children.
Kong Jiamu widened his eyes and leaned close to Ao Ao.
"Hey, disciple." He asked the little one on the surface, but was actually speaking to Tu Nan. "Do you know how much money your Master has?"
Ao Ao let out a soft sound, his eyes calm.
"Oh, I've conquered quite a few resource stars across the galaxy. According to Your Majesty's decree, 15% of them count as my own, and there are others I'm responsible for developing where 30% of the output counts as mine."
"Do you understand?"
Ao Ao shook his head seriously.
"Sigh... it just means super rich, probably about the same as the Kong Family, hahahaha."
Tu Nan was stunned. She had heard Kong Jiamu say that he had money without relying on the Kong Family, but she never expected it to be this level of wealth.
"How about you become my son? Then you'll have a share of all this in the future." Kong Jiamu remained calm, waiting.
Unexpectedly, Ao Ao kicked his legs, broke free from his hands, and darted back into his mother's arms before answering him.
"Don't I get it as a disciple? Isn't a Master a father?" He tilted his head, speaking rarely while in beast form.
Kong Jiamu was shocked.
"Not bad, this cunning streak." He laughed, looking at the child, and also at Tu Nan. "You get both, you get both."
Tu Nan smiled without a word. She simply carried the Two Children to Amy. When she walked out the door, Kong Jiamu was leaning against the outside waiting for her.
"Come on... Madam." Kong Jiamu smiled and invited her, "You missed me too, didn't you?"
Tu Nan's smile was very dangerous.
Of course, all this buildup and waiting was for him.
Leading this flamboyant peacock, who still thought he held the initiative, into the room, Tu Nan pushed him into the bathroom and followed him in, leaning against the bathroom door.
Kong Jiamu saw a small bathtub in the corner of the bathroom—though that was only in comparison to the one in his own room; in fact, this one was already quite large.
The key was that it was already filled with water at a suitable temperature.
The water could be set to keep warm, but... Pearl had been with him since noon, which meant she must have prepared all this before she left, right?
Kong Jiamu was completely thrilled.
Facts speak louder than words; Pearl really missed him.
Under Tu Nan's gaze, he took off all his clothes, one piece at a time.
With a smile, he sat on the edge of the bathtub, spread his arms, and displayed his toned body like a work of art.
He leaned back just like that and submerged into the water.
His long, dark green hair drifted in the water like seaweed. When they calmed down, he let himself surface and hoarsely invited the fully clothed Female Beast who was staring intently at him.
"Come."
Tu Nan got to eat the Peacock as she wished; he was still as passionate and delicious as ever.
And this separation made him seem even more tender and meticulous. Tu Nan was taken such good care of by him that her toes curled up, and the water in the bathtub was refilled and drained repeatedly.
Thank goodness the bathroom's drainage System was working smoothly.
* * *
Tu Nan didn't want to let Kong Jiamu off just like that. Based on her experience from the last pregnancy, two months of thorough intimacy should be enough to activate the child's Talent, and even if S-rank was more troublesome, three months should be more than enough.
She wanted the Peacock to put in more effort during these three months before she started showing.
As long as she got the notification from the System, she could naturally find an excuse to break up with Kong Jiamu. It shouldn't be difficult; she could provide any type of Female Beast he hated.
However, Kong Jiamu seemed to have developed a habit of dawdling; after twice, he insisted on holding her and chatting...
"I have to say, a person still needs to have some thoughts to hold onto." His lament was very emotional, and he mentioned Tang Jun once again.
"Look, before he died, he still had someone to miss. If I were to die, I guess it would just be dying with a smile for the country, sacrificing myself to serve the royal grace."
"Really, I've written a will. After I die, my estate will all be handed over to Your Majesty. He can at least put it to some use." He sneered, "It's better than giving it to that bunch of hypocritical siblings of mine."
"Then you truly love Your Majesty deeply." Tu Nan could only comment like that.
Kong Jiamu laughed until his chest vibrated. "After all, I was raised by Your Majesty."
Tu Nan was a bit puzzled. She had seen Your Majesty's profile... he didn't seem that old, did he?
"How old is... Your Majesty this year?"
Kong Jiamu laughed hard again. He naturally knew that Pearl had misunderstood, which was something he had intentionally misled her about.
"Your Majesty is only 3 years older than me; he is 28 this year."
Then... Tu Nan pinched him, urging him to continue.
"He has had the Wisdom Eye for judging people since he was young. Both Hain and I were by Your Majesty's side during our adolescence. I was 10, and Hain was 14." He recalled, speaking proudly.
"So Hain hasn't seen Your Majesty's adolescence, but I have."
"It was completely different from now, hahahaha, he was really a cute teenager back then."
Dare you say these things to Your Majesty's face? You're incredibly well-behaved in front of him. Tu Nan thought to herself.
"Oh, I've digressed."
Kong Jiamu was still laughing. "I originally intended to finish telling you about my 'lifesaver'."
"Didn't you board the ship from Sand Star? I was wondering if you knew him. He's quite unique, a Chaotic Beast named Li."
"Li..."
Tu Nan pushed Kong Jiamu away slightly; she was afraid he would feel her heart pounding wildly.
"I know him." Tu Nan forced herself to smile. "Don't you remember? When I first met you, he was at the Decoration Ceremony, wasn't he?"
"Oh... that's right."
Now that she mentioned it, it was indeed so. Kong Jiamu found it quite interesting. "Then he and we can be considered to have some connection."
Tu Nan urged him with difficulty.
"So what happened?"
