95: Fireworks in the starry sky

The platform gradually rose. When it was almost at the top, the dome melted inward, splitting open to form a small sphere that perfectly enveloped the platform, then ejected it.

Kong Jiamu completely detached from the starship and appeared in the starry sky.

Of course, Tu Nan knew he wouldn't deliberately seek death, and she had long heard that S-class Beastmen could fight in their beast forms in space, but this was the first time she had seen it with her own eyes, and it truly defied all scientific principles she knew.

Kong Jiamu watched Tu Nan, pressed against the dome. His smile became unrestrained. He pushed off the dome, spread his arms wide, and leaned back.

In an instant, Kong Jiamu's figure vanished from Tu Nan's sight.

"Ah!" Tu Nan exclaimed. She rushed to the edge of the entire botanical garden, pressing against the isolation shield to look back.

For better observation, a small section of the isolation shield here protruded beyond the main body of the starship. Standing there offered an excellent view, inherently creating a sense of being suspended in mid-air.

The starship was continuously moving at high speed. Could Kong Jiamu really keep up?

He could!

A point of fire flashed in the distance, then another. More and more sparkling points gradually connected into a line.

A sharp, distant cry reached Tu Nan's ears from the depths of the starry sky. In her eyes, a dark blue-green flame flickered from afar. He elegantly drew different fireworks in the starry sky with the flame.

That was the intense heat he generated by scraping his claw tips against small celestial fragments he passed.

The giant Green Peacock finally arrived parallel to Tu Nan. Its enormous bird head approached Tu Nan by the dome. Tu Nan's figure, shocked speechless, was clearly reflected in its light blue eyes.

"How is it? Fire, my Talent."

Tu Nan didn't know why she could clearly hear Kong Jiamu's voice. The feathers on the peacock's tail, like countless mysterious eyes, seemed to be in water and in wind. The colors on his body glowed with their own light in the deep space, dazzling before her eyes.

Her scientific worldview had long since collapsed in this world. Fascinated, she gazed at this wondrous sight, and Tu Nan, as if enchanted, could only utter the simplest, most direct praise.

"Very, very beautiful..."

A look of satisfaction flashed in Kong Jiamu's blue eyes. He turned around again, and the light trails behind him reconnected into spiral curves. This flamboyant bird flew back in front of Tu Nan, pressing against the dome as he transformed back into his human form.

The bare-chested Male Beast grabbed the edge of the small sphere that had reopened to receive him, tidied his hair, winked at Tu Nan, and pointed a finger into the distance.

Tu Nan's gaze involuntarily followed.

"Bang," he said.

"Bang!" Fireworks exploded in the starry sky, the shattered rocks illuminating that section of space.

What a grand gesture of romance... Tu Nan was shocked by this playboy's sense of ceremony.

If he did this every time he had a girlfriend, the cost would be truly high, Tu Nan grumbled in her mind, but she had to admit.

This was just too beautiful.

Kong Jiamu slowly descended on the platform, and Tu Nan's heart pounded.

She suddenly felt a genuine romantic urge. For the sake of this peacock's efforts, could she forget the missions for now and just focus on the present?

After all, who could resist this level of temptation?

Tu Nan looked at Kong Jiamu with fervent eyes; this was exactly the effect Kong Jiamu wanted. His companions never had complaints about him, precisely because of his "fervor" in every relationship.

Tu Nan approached him step by step. As soon as his platform landed, Tu Nan lunged forward. Kong Jiamu scooped her up and kissed her directly under the starlight.

Neither of them needed to say anything. His hands fervently untied the laces at the back of Tu Nan's dress, and Tu Nan continuously stroked his hair.

Ah... it's rare for a Cat Beastkin to know their Bird Beastman's preference. A companion who loves to groom is truly delightful.

Kong Jiamu deepened the kiss, and Tu Nan didn't show any weakness; they were well-matched.

Just as Tu Nan's laces were undone, her dress hanging on her body only by the friction of their chests pressed together, and everything was about to move to the next step.

A rigid, serious voice interrupted the two.

"Young Master, I think you need to take a call first."

Both of them, in the throes of passion, froze. Kong Jiamu quickly pulled Tu Nan's dress back together, pressed her head into his embrace, and looked up in exasperated anger.

"Captain Wei. I recall booking this place. When did my authority become so low?"

He had every right to be angry. Whether as a super VIP or the Young Master of the Kong Family, being disturbed in such a private space was infuriating. But seeing that the person who came was Wei Yang, an old employee of their Kong Family who had served Hongtu Aviation for over thirty years, Kong Jiamu still suppressed his anger.

"What kind of reason do you have?" Otherwise, it wouldn't be like this.

Wei Yang was completely unfazed. He handed over a communicator.

Kong Jiamu inexplicably took it, and a steady, subtly reproachful voice came from within.

"Colonel Kong, if I'm not mistaken, you haven't returned and completed the handover, have you?" Kong Jiamu had completely frozen, and the voice on the other end was still unhurriedly chiding him.

"You returned on civilian aviation, which I could pretend not to know. But now... a troop transport from Mata Star to the front line passed through your flight path. Hmm... their commander asked me if there was an abnormal energy fluctuation in the channel and if assistance was needed."

Tu Nan also froze. Mata Star? She was extremely sensitive to this specific term now, even though it had nothing to do with her anymore.

"Your Majesty the Emperor..." Kong Jiamu said with a bitter laugh, trying to smooth things over, "I just went for a quick flight, no assistance needed, no, no."

"Heh." The other side merely returned a cold scoff. "Be cautious in your words and actions, I have taught you this."

Under the other party's instruction, Kong Jiamu instinctively straightened up and wanted to salute, only to realize Tu Nan was still in his arms.

He pressed a hand to his forehead, admitting his mistake in a low voice.

"I understand, Your Majesty, please forgive me."

There was silence on the other end for a while, presumably evaluating whether Kong Jiamu was worthy of forgiveness. Kong Jiamu kept his head bowed, not daring to breathe loudly.

After a long while, the other party sighed.

"Write a self-reflection report and hand it in when you return." Kong Jiamu let out a sigh of relief, but then the person suddenly spoke to the other person, Tu Nan, with a cold attitude: "Young Miss, please forgive me for disturbing you. Please continue."

The communication was cut off.

Tu Nan and Kong Jiamu exchanged glances. Wei Yang still stood rigidly by their side.

"Go, go, go, I'll go back and write the report right away, alright?" Kong Jiamu thought he was being urged, but unexpectedly, Wei Yang reached out with a serious expression.

"The communicator, that's for the flight, Captain's special use."

Kong Jiamu was so angry that he threw the communicator over. Wei Yang easily caught it, then bowed to the two before unhurriedly retreating.

All the atmosphere was gone... Tu Nan never expected that after making all preparations today, it would end like this. Seeing Kong Jiamu standing there dejectedly, looking no different from a drowned rat drenched in heavy rain, she couldn't help but find it a little amusing.

From this small glimpse, seeing how this peacock was controlled, she gained a very intuitive understanding of His Majesty the Emperor's methods of managing his subordinates.

Meanwhile, on the Sand Star troop transport that reported to the Emperor and caused this commotion.

Li, utterly disheartened, clutched a ruby and sat silently in his seat.

That illusion came again.

He always felt, from time to time, that Tu Nan was not far from him.
