58: Someone wants to follow in my footsteps?

Kong Jiamu had just kicked open the courtyard door when his terminal vibrated.

He looked down casually, but with just one glance, his whole body seemed to hit a pause button.

He tapped his bracelet, and the receiver in his ear transmitted his friend's anger-filled questioning.

"Kong Jiamu, you're quite something. Where is your noble grace? Is it impressive to be bullying men and women?"

Hain enunciated every word with extreme clarity.

On the surface, Kong Jiamu's expression remained arrogantly overbearing, but inside, he was already starting to feel the pressure.

His friend's tone was a precursor to an explosion. Someone like Hain was usually gentle, but once he lost his temper, it wouldn't be easily resolved.

"Leave there."

Hain coldly left those two words and crisply hung up the communication.

He's really furious, Kong Jiamu's mouth twitched.

Well, this woman is impressive; in just a few days, she's bewitched Hain like this.

In a fight, he was no match for Hain, but when it came to these matters, Hain was miles behind him.

Fine, if Hain doesn't suffer a bit, he won't realize that feelings don't yield results through one-sided, silent waiting.

Kong Jiamu gave a cold snort.

He planned to let this enchantress jump around for a couple more days, then later let Hain see the scene of her holding someone else's Children to clear his eyes.

He turned around and left directly.

The surrounding neighbors had emerged aggressively, but seeing it was Kong Jiamu, they all shrunk back inside.

After all, besides his messy relationships, there wasn't much to criticize about him.

Tu Nan and the others had just arrived here, not to mention she was pregnant with Children; there shouldn't be any intersection with him.

So this was probably a misunderstanding.

Thus, when Tu Nan reached the door, she didn't encounter Kong Jiamu, nor did she see the neighbors.

Tu Nan thanked Owen and his mother, then looked at the fallen courtyard door with a headache... How should she explain this to Li?

If she dared to tell the truth, Li would dare to go and ambush Kong Jiamu.

Sighing, she knocked on Owen's door again; better not to trouble two people with one matter, she'd ask Owen's mother for help.

The hunting party returned boisterously as the sun set.

Tu Nan thought that since she had resolved the daytime incident, she should be able to spend the day peacefully.

But unexpectedly, the change was brought by the two who had gone out.

"I really don't know how to express my gratitude... Not only did you save us mother and daughter, but you also gave us a place to stay."

Following behind Li were two Female Beasts; though their clothes were covered in dust, the fabric was very luxurious. The one who spoke was about forty, yet still retained her charm.

The other one was very young.

She didn't stand by her mother's side but instead hid behind Gaia. Her waist-length brown hair was woven into intricate braids interlaced with small Pearl chains.

The large, soft ears drooping from the top of her head were cleverly integrated into the hairstyle.

She timidly revealed half of her face, her almond-shaped green eyes peeking at Tu Nan, then as if frightened, she gripped Gaia's sleeve tighter.

"Brother Gaia... Will Sister... not welcome us..."

Tu Nan's steps forward faltered for a beat.

She met the girl's gaze and, deep within that timid look... saw a familiar light.

Tu Nan blinked in surprise, a playful smile spreading across her face.

Is this... encountering an actress who wants to walk the same path as her?

Her eyes darted; she was doing this for Li, but what about this girl? Was her target Gaia? Or... Li?

Anxiety and worry immediately clouded Tu Nan's face. She went forward, took out a handkerchief to wipe the sand off Li's face, then held one of his arms, leaning her whole body against him before asking curiously.

"And these two are?"

The moment she leaned against Li, the young woman's expression turned ugly; although she immediately reverted to her shy and timid look, Tu Nan still noticed the change.

"This is Sheng Ranran and her mother Chen Fang," Gaia introduced both sides enthusiastically.

"Ranran, this is the Tu Nan I told you about. Don't be afraid; she has a gentle nature just like you, you two will surely get along well."

"Besides, you both have green eyes," Big Dog added excitedly.

Tu Nan observed Gaia's extraordinary enthusiasm for this Ranran with great interest.

Oh dear, if she wasn't mistaken, Gaia's enthusiasm was going to be in vain. This Ranran's target wasn't him.

It was... Li.

"Come in and sit," Tu Nan pulled Li's hand, greeting the guests with the air of the lady of the house. The moment she turned, that Ranran "accidentally" let out a cry of surprise.

"Oh my." Everyone looked at her, and she then explained as if embarrassed.

"I... I just haven't seen anything like this, um... like this." She seemed very troubled, unwilling to say it directly, but her gaze clearly fell repeatedly on Tu Nan's back and head.

Gaia pulled her and gently scolded, "Don't be like that, it will make Tu Nan sad."

"I won't do it again. I've lived in the Manor since I was a child and haven't seen many people, that's why..." She bowed to Tu Nan in panic, apologizing with her words while her eyes clearly held mockery.

Tu Nan didn't want to play this game of tolerance, forgiveness, and sympathy while stewing in her own anger.

In the blink of an eye, her brow furrowed, and her face immediately turned pale... She gripped Li's hand tightly, and Li instantly became nervous.

"How are you, are you feeling unwell?"

Tu Nan looked at him timidly, only biting her lip in distress.

Without a word, Li dropped his things on the ground, bent down, scooped Tu Nan up by her knees in a princess carry, and walked into the house, completely ignoring the mother and daughter still in the courtyard.

"The guests..." Tu Nan spoke with difficulty.

Li turned a deaf ear. No one was more important than Tu Nan; he had even forgotten that those two living people were still there.

Gaia scratched his head and chuckled, explaining for Li, "Oh, don't mind him, Li only has eyes for Tu Nan. Hahahaha."

Sheng Ranran almost couldn't keep up her act.

Tu Nan took one look and then buried her head in Li's chest, laughing silently.

The slight vibration made Li even more nervous. Until he placed her on the bed, he was still feeling her all over, asking anxiously, "Does your stomach hurt? Or your waist? What exactly is wrong?"

Tu Nan sighed, blinked mischievously, and directly used her lips to block Li's rare rambling. She quickly made him forget his questioning as he threw himself into this passionate kiss.

The two separated, their breaths uneven, and then Tu Nan spoke.

"I just didn't see you during the day and missed you. I wanted to kiss you." She confessed seriously, as if this were the most important thing.

"Why can't I kiss you the moment I see you? Why do I have to wait so long?"

Even with Li's dark skin, a flush could be seen spreading.

He explained seriously, "There are outsiders present, it's not good."

"What's not good about it? I wish everyone knew." Tu Nan acted a bit spoiled and willful.

"I don't care, you have to kiss me immediately."

"I miss you, and the Children miss you too."

Li's breathing deepened instantly.

He leaned over again and kissed Tu Nan thoroughly.

Tu Nan acted spoiled towards him.

At this moment, let alone her just asking for a kiss, even if it were a more outrageous request, he would agree without a second thought.
