97: Hein's concern

Tu Nan covered her bracelet.

Kong Jiamu felt deeply intrigued. Even though there were only the two of them in the botanical garden, he still pretentiously covered his mouth with his fist.

Late husband?

He silently mouthed those two words.

Tu Nan glanced at him sideways, speechless.

This man was too mischievous. If Hain knew his good friend had just declared him dead, what would he think?

Tu Nan's silence made Kong Jiamu feel like he had won a round. The tension from being lectured by His Majesty the Emperor earlier quickly faded after teasing the Female Beast before him, and he regained his self-satisfaction.

Picking up his clothes from the platform and shaking them out, Kong Jiamu spread his arms and put them back on.

Casually pulling his hair out from inside his clothes, he lazily fastened two buttons on his chest, creating a vivid scene of a seductive morning.

Moreover, he was well aware of his own charm. At least thirty percent of this was a deliberate display of temptation, intended to snatch Tu Nan's attention back from that other Male Beast.

Of course, that communication she couldn't answer in front of him must have come from another Male Beast.

He guessed correctly. On a distant planet, Hain was looking at the communication that had automatically disconnected after going unanswered for a long time, feeling anxious.

What happened to Tu Nan? Is she in trouble?

Although he knew that Hongtu Aviation flight was a top-tier luxury flight and Tu Nan shouldn't have any accidents on it...

He was still worried.

Should he... check in with Kong Jiamu? He had just learned yesterday that Kong Jiamu hadn't taken a warship again and had boarded his own Family's flight.

But after being blacklisted last time, Kong Jiamu ignored him completely except for official business, throwing a very thorough tantrum. Besides, Hain wasn't entirely comfortable entrusting a beautiful Female Beast to him.

However, that peacock usually didn't actively provoke married women, and Tu Nan was with Children... she shouldn't be within his hunting range.

Hain finally felt a bit relieved.

But he forgot one possibility—that Tu Nan, this 'married woman', might actively provoke others.

Kong Jiamu's moral standards weren't actually that high... Fortunately, Tu Nan's message arrived shortly after.

“Lord Hain, I know I should thank you in person, but I'm sorry... for now, I only dare to send you messages. I don't want to be rude when speaking with you, but it seems I've done something even ruder as a result. May I ask why you were looking for me?”

Hain read this message many times; he understood the feeling completely.

With his help, Tu Nan had escaped her past nightmare. Any message from the past received just as she was about to start a new life could easily drag her back into that history.

But this was exactly where he felt unwilling to let go.

He didn't want to be categorized as part of her past; what he wanted was for Tu Nan to place him within the scope of her future.

But perhaps Tu Nan had only just found peace. Maybe he really should give her a little more time?

Suppressing the thoughts in his mind, Hain looked at the statue of the Goddess. This seaside cottage only fully revealed itself during low tide; currently, the Goddess's fish tail was still soaked in water.

The Priest stood beside him in silence, continuously lighting flower-shaped candles one after another and placing them piously into the water.

The candlelight drifted back and forth with the waves, and the shadows in the room shifted unpredictably.

His gaze fell upon the water basin altar the Goddess was staring at. Upon it, three shells were floating on the water's surface, all with their inner shells facing upward.

Three Yangs—this was the Goddess's unhesitating affirmative answer to the matter he had asked about.

Only he knew what he had asked.

Since the Goddess told him everything was destined, he should be patient, a little more patient... Hain sent a message.

“It's nothing, just checking if your journey with the Children is going smoothly. It suddenly occurred to me that if you encounter any problems you can't solve and I don't have time to help you, you can go to my friend. Kong Jiamu, he is also on the ship. He is the Young Master of the Hongtu Group, and Hongtu Aviation is also his Family business.”

Tu Nan felt a deep sense of care from these few short lines of text.

For a moment, she even wanted to tell Hain not to be so good to her. Although she didn't know what Hain actually saw in her, she certainly had nothing to do with the Female Beast in his eyes.

Not only did she have ill intentions toward his friend, but she was also plotting against Hain himself.

Tu Nan knew why she had chosen to target Kong Jiamu first; of course, there were considerations for task completion, but there was also a sliver of guilt toward Hain.

She began to find it increasingly difficult to target Hain.

Sincerity should not be betrayed. The better Hain treated her, the more guilty she felt... After changing her clothes, she went out again to find the Children. Kong Jiamu had rescheduled the training room and asked her to bring the Children there. This was serious business; regardless of what happened in the future, the opportunity to be coached by an expert of this level was rare.

Well, actually, it wasn't that rare.

In the following days, it happened every day.

Surprisingly, Kong Jiamu liked Children, and Miao Miao and Ao Ao were exceptionally impressed by this strong and beautiful Male Beast.

The three of them now not only appeared in the training room together but also in various strange spaces on the flight.

Kong Jiamu led them on a rampage through many places where tourists were prohibited—the cockpit, the power room, the route analysis bay, the staff quarters, and the weapons room.

Tu Nan followed behind, gaining quite a bit of knowledge herself.

“Is it okay to bring them here?” Tu Nan asked from the bottom of her heart when they reached the weapons room.

Firstly, she really hadn't expected a civilian starship to be equipped with so many weapon facilities. Furthermore, was it really okay to bring 'outsiders' and such small Children to a place like this?

Kong Jiamu bounced Miao Miao, who was sitting in the crook of his arm, not caring at all. “I know what I'm doing. These things won't fire just by touching them; they all require keys. Besides, these Two Children are much more sensible than you think.”

He affectionately nudged Miao Miao's head. “Right, little princess?”

“That's right! That's right!” Miao Miao laughed happily. Kong Jiamu's arms were her favorite place now, simply because she could lean against his magnificent hair at any time.

Tu Nan sighed. Actually, Li had never been this close to the Children; he always seemed to have an unbelievable sense of distance regarding their existence.

He always wanted to be the strict father he simulated in his mind, and the Children naturally always avoided him.

Big Dog Gaia was the Children's favorite playmate back then, and now Kong Jiamu had taken over that role.

Kong Jiamu seemed to like Children so much, and he didn't lack Female Beasts to bear them for him, so why did it seem like he didn't have any Children yet?

Tu Nan always felt there was some story in the middle that she hadn't discovered.

Her task hadn't progressed these past few days, but because they were flaunting themselves everywhere on the ship like a Family, it actually brought trouble to Tu Nan.

On this day, while she was leading the Children down the corridor alone, her path was blocked by a pair of plump and fair sisters.

“Oh my, you don't think you can tie down a Male Beast just by relying on Children, do you?”
