10: Harpy
Su Qian nodded understandingly after hearing this.
Her father was considered a vassal of Chu Tian's family enterprise, and she was, in a way, Chu Tian's semi-follower.
While destroying Ye Chen's God Domain Core was a bit unkind, as long as she could gain Chu Tian's approval, this deal would be very worthwhile.
With that thought, she raised her hand and accepted the task.
"Teacher, my coreFamily is an elite flying unit, the Harpy, and they can try to kill these Worms."
Director Wu frowned upon hearing this.
"Flying units do have an advantage against Worms, but once these Worms burrow underground, your Harpies will be helpless."
Su Qian smiled confidently and said,
"The biggest difference between humans and beasts is wisdom. I have a way to make these irrational Worms obediently come out of the ground."
"Of course, if someone is directing them, that might not be the case."
With that, Su Qian gave Ye Chen a meaningful look.
Ye Chen looked innocent, seemingly not understanding the implication of Su Qian's words.
Director Wu's brows relaxed slightly upon hearing this, and he agreed,
"In that case, you can give it a try, but remember, don't overexert yourself."
With that, an invasion card appeared out of thin air in Director Wu's hand, and he handed it to Su Qian.
Su Qian walked over to Ye Chen, smiled sweetly, and then activated the invasion card in her hand.
An invisible wave enveloped the two of them, creating a battle space belonging to them.
...
In the God Domain, Su Qian gathered one hundred and eighty adult Harpies carrying bows and arrows at the teleportation gate.
Immediately after, she drew out a resource card and activated it directly.
One hundred Wild Buffalos appeared out of thin air on the open ground in front of the teleportation array.
These Wild Buffalos were just ordinary creatures, with no potential for cultivation, and were generally used as meat reserves to fill the God Domain.
Under the Harpies' urging, the Wild Buffalos rushed towards the teleportation gate.
Fortunately, for the convenience of marching, the invading teleportation gates were very wide, which allowed all the Wild Buffalos to pass through.
On the other side, Ye Chen was also on high alert; he did not intend to sacrifice the remaining dozens of Abyssal Worms.
After all, he still needed these visible Worms to cause trouble.
He decided to let the Worms act like cowards underground and see what tricks Su Qian could pull off.
When the Wild Buffalos and Harpies entered Ye Chen's God Domain one after another, the negative aura permeating the air made them instantly uncomfortable.
The Harpies were fine; their powerful strength allowed them to temporarily resist the erosion of the negative aura.
But those Wild Buffalos were miserable.
Their condition varied depending on the negative aura they inhaled.
Some were listless, some were bloodthirsty and manic, some were dizzy, and some even vomited large mouthfuls of blood.
Su Qian left thirty Harpies to guard the teleportation gate, while the rest drove the Wild Buffalo herd, intending to place the battlefield near Ye Chen's God Domain Core.
The Wild Buffalo herd, driven by the Harpies, thundered towards the God Domain Core.
Some of the Wild Buffalos in better condition took the lead, and others, influenced, also rushed along with the main group.
Ye Chen watched Su Qian's operation, frowning secretly.
What tricks is this little girl playing?
Soon, the Wild Buffalo herd reached the vicinity of the God Domain Core.
Su Qian was a bit surprised by the calm ground.
Are these Worms in such poor condition?
The commotion caused by this Wild Buffalo herd was not small, so why didn't even one Worm come out?
But she didn't care; if they didn't appear, then so be it, as her goal was not to eliminate the Worms anyway.
Originally, she wanted to use this herd of Wild Buffalos to lure out the underground Worms, and then have the Harpies use their flight advantage to kill the Worms from a distance.
Finally, in the chaotic battle, she would inadvertently destroy the God Domain Core, creating an illusion of an accident.
But now that this group of Worms wasn't taking the bait, she couldn't act it out, and could only attack directly.
With that thought, Su Qian's phantom appeared directly above the Harpies and issued a divine oracle to the Harpy leader, ordering an attack on the God Domain Core.
The Harpy leader, an extremely enchanting young woman, naturally dared not neglect the divine oracle.
A hawk's cry conveyed the command to her kin, and the Harpy unit immediately drew their bows, aimed their arrows, and targeted the God Domain Core.
It was only then that Ye Chen realized this little girl was aiming for his God Domain Core!
But he wasn't flustered; this second layer of the Abyss wasn't his own God Domain.
His own Abyss Will and God Domain had always stayed in the first layer of the Abyss.
The God Domain Core displayed before him was merely a stone with special skin effects, purely an illusion.
Even if these Harpies shot the "God Domain Core" into stone dust, it wouldn't affect his own God Domain in the slightest.
But he couldn't just let her attack like this, or she would eventually discover something was amiss.
With a slight thought, dozens of Worms underground burrowed towards the teleportation gate.
Originally, Ye Chen thought he had no enmity with this little girl and would just let her wander around.
But since she wanted to play something exciting, he wouldn't be blamed for being ruthless.
When the Worm Army reached the vicinity of the teleportation gate, Ye Chen ordered them to rush into the teleportation gate and destroy Su Qian's God Domain Core.
The Worms emerged from underground and, before the guarding Harpies could react, directly drilled into the teleportation gate.
Su Qian, high in the void, only then realized something was wrong.
"Oh no, this group of Worms is going for a sneak attack!"
Thinking of this, Su Qian disregarded attacking the God Domain Core and hurriedly ordered the Harpies to return for aid.
The Harpies received the order, put away their bows and arrows, and prepared to retreat.
Just then, a buzzing sound, from far to near, entered the ears of all the Harpies.
This is...
Su Qian looked in the direction of the sound, and the sight that met her eyes filled her with alarm.
Dense, red specks of light surged out of the black mist, rapidly approaching, and the buzzing sound, from far to near, was like a surging tide.
As the red specks of light drew closer, it was discovered that they were a swarm of flies with blood-red compound eyes.
These flies were much larger than ordinary ones, about the size of a fist, and emitted a faint green light all over.
Their wings vibrated, emitting a sharp hum that made people's eardrums ache.
Their compound eyes occupied most of their heads, composed of countless tiny red eyes, flickering with eerie light.
Sharp proboscises extended, dripping with black viscous fluid that emitted a putrid smell.
The overwhelming swarm of flies formed a black cloud that blotted out the sky, devouring everything around them.
Wherever they went, everything was enveloped in the shadow of death.
These flies were naturally the fully developed parasitic fly Worms, and this was Gluttony's first time activating the Fly Swarm Annihilation skill.
Su Qian watched this terrifying swarm of flies surge towards the Harpies, her face turning incredibly pale.
She didn't know where these fly Worms came from, or why so many suddenly emerged from the black mist.
She didn't have time to think too much and quickly consumed divine power to bless the Harpies, making them retreat quickly.
The Harpies felt their deity's urgency and the divine spell cast upon them, and dared not delay, rushing towards the teleportation gate.
But it was all too late; the surging swarm of fly Worms had already surrounded them...
