88: Strategic Counterattack

Seeing the Queen in a daze, Cain quickly started sweet-talking:

"Your beauty has long been sung in our Abyss, and seeing you now, it is truly extraordinary! Your beauty is even three parts more stunning than the rumors!"

Hearing this, the Elven Queen's expression brightened considerably, but she still sternly rebuked:

"Evil invaders, you have violated my territory and killed my people. No matter how eloquent your words are now, you cannot escape the judgment of justice!"

Cain wore an innocent expression and argued:

"Respected Queen, invading the Elves was not our original intention. Now your army has entered our Abyss, slaughtering our kin. Our homeland is in imminent danger. As a last resort, I was sent to visit your noble race, begging Queen to show mercy."

The Elven Queen snorted coldly after hearing this:

"A visit? I think you came here intending to destroy my homeland. If it was truly a visit, why harm my people?"

Just as Cain was about to continue arguing, a thunderous roar suddenly came from the sky:

"Shalia! What are you dawdling for? Quickly annihilate these Demons!"

A phantom image of a male Elf appeared in the air, none other than the God Lord of the Elven God Domain.

He had just withdrawn his gaze from the Abyss battlefield and saw the Queen chatting happily with the enemy, instantly becoming furious.

The Abyss was currently in a heated battle, yet his Queen was having a heated conversation. How could he not be angry?

Hearing this, the Elven Queen said no more and issued the command to attack.

The Elven army, already prepared, immediately unleashed a volley of arrows and various skills.

Seeing that he could no longer delay, Cain could only order a counterattack.

Fortunately, the Elven Queen seemed quite confident in her own people and did not take action immediately.

Facing the enemy's powerful ranged attacks, Cain did not rush forward for close combat. Instead, he ordered his troops to slowly retreat.

Cain calculated in his mind:

If the Elves want to pursue, they must come down from the giant tree. At that time, the Worm Army, which has been hidden for a long time, will be able to catch them off guard.

If they don't pursue, they can retreat to a safe location and wait for reinforcements.

The Elven Queen discovered the Abyss Army's actions. She did not want to let go of these murderers who had harmed her people.

The "Staff of the Elven Queen" in her hand glowed slightly, and the ground cracked open with a roar.

Countless thick vines burst out of the earth, coiling into a wall like giant pythons, cutting off the Abyss Army's retreat.

Cain ordered the snake people to spray venom. The corrosive liquid hissed as it landed on the vines, instantly twisting and rotting the surface.

However, these magical vines had extremely strong resistance to poison, only causing superficial damage.

The ice devil wolf opened its large mouth and bit down fiercely, but only left a few teeth marks.

The ice frost magic bear raised its war hammer and struck the vine fiercely. Ice energy transmitted from the war hammer to the vine, causing it to become brittle.

With another strike, the vine began to shatter and break.

Although the magic bear's attack could damage the vines, the efficiency was extremely low.

And the Blood Bats had no way against this type of plant; their skills were basically useless against the vines.

Seeing the urgent situation, Cain could no longer hide his trump card. With a wave of his hand, countless hideous Worms burst out of the ground.

Some of the Worms appeared at the vines, opening their large mouthparts and rapidly gnawing on them.

With the help of "Demon-Breaking Fangs," the Worms gnawed at an extremely fast speed.

The other part of the Worms, under Cain's command, appeared directly beneath the giant tree.

They began gnawing around the perimeter of this massive ancient tree, whose diameter was unknown. Some Worms even burrowed into the roots of the ancient tree and started biting.

Cain no longer expected the Worm Army to gnaw down this ancient tree. Even if it just stood there and let the Worms gnaw, it would take half a day to finish.

Seeing the divine tree of her clan being attacked, the Elven Queen was furious.

The staff in her hand glowed intensely, and invisible mental waves swept over like a tide, causing large numbers of Worms to die instantly.

Mental magic was a bane to these low-intelligence creatures.

Feeling the countless Worms underground gnawing at the roots of the divine tree, the Elven Queen ignored blocking the Abyss Army's escape, closed her eyes, and began to gradually eliminate the Worms.

Invisible mental magic penetrated the thick layers of earth and acted on the Worms, precisely annihilating every underground Worm.

Taking advantage of this opportunity, Cain led his army in a hasty escape through the gap created by the Worms' gnawing.

Seeing the enemy about to escape the attack range, the Queen's personal guards came to her side and asked if they should pursue.

The Queen, busy with eliminating the Worms, waved her hand, telling them to pursue on their own.

The Elves received the command. Except for some Elves standing on the Treants who remained still, allowing the Treants to pursue the enemy on their own, the other Elves descended from the divine tree and chased after the enemy.

At this time, Cain did not dare to turn back and counterattack. He only left the Worms to block the enemy and led his army to escape towards the God Domain passage.

At the critical moment, seven figures broke through the air, the supporting Tier 5 knights!

Seeing the reinforcements arrive, Cain finally breathed a sigh of relief.

With high-level combat power, he no longer had to be so worried.

He ordered the army to regroup, prioritizing the destruction of the wood elements, Elves, and Treants blocking the God Domain passage.

After finishing, Cain ordered a count of the army's casualties.

After checking, he found that after the Elves' continuous ranged attacks, the Abyss Army had suffered three-tenths casualties, and the remaining were mostly injured.

Facing the fully equipped Elven army, it seemed a bit difficult.

Should he continue to wait for reinforcements?

Cain felt a little unwilling when he thought of this.

Currently, the only ones who could provide strong support were the Demon army under Gavin's command.

As a "senior" and a dignified "Abyss Viscount," he actually needed the support of someone he had defeated before.

This was no less than a great humiliation for him.

Thinking of this, Cain decided to act himself.

He glanced at Beelzebub, who had not done anything until now. When escaping just now, this fellow's speed was not slow at all.

Beelzebub's fly swarm army was very powerful, but it also feared the Elven mages' area attacks, so it had not taken action.

If the Elven Queen's mental attack swept through, it would probably be completely annihilated.

It seems that he must first tie down the Elven Queen and the mages.

If the fly swarm army could run rampant, then this group of Elves would be easy to deal with.

Thinking of this, Cain began to issue orders.

Now the Elven army had descended from the divine tree and formed a formation, allowing the ice frost magic bear and ice devil wolf to attack their opponents.

The Frost War Bear and ice devil wolf still led the charge, with the snake people following closely behind.

The Blood Bats and Worms coordinated ground and air attacks, directly entangling the Elven army and causing chaos.

As for the seven Tier 5 powerhouses, they directly surrounded and attacked the Elven Queen.

Cain always maintained the utmost vigilance towards this Tier 5 transcendent Queen.

Without much preparation, the Abyss Army directly rushed towards the Elven formation.

At this time, the Elves were busy dealing with the endless stream of Worms, but they found that the escaping enemy was now counterattacking.

In the sky, Blood Bats howled as they charged up. On the ground, the roars of war bears and white wolves echoed across the battlefield.

The snake people twisted their graceful bodies, their four arms waving in turn, unleashing balls of venom...
