2: Abyss Worm

Ye Chen came back to his senses and looked in the direction of the sound.

A young man in his twenties was looking at him with concern.

The man had an ordinary appearance, was tall and thin, wearing a black jacket on top and work pants below.

At this moment, he spoke again:

"You're quite injured. You should go to the hospital quickly. I'll drive you there."

Ye Chen looked at the strange man with some vigilance. There was no trace of him in his memories.

He shook his head and refused the man's kind offer. He wasn't willing to just follow someone blindly.

What if it was another one of Chu Tian's dirty tricks? He had no power to fight back at all.

Even if he wasn't one of Chu Tian's people, Ye Chen didn't believe he would be so kind as to take him to the hospital.

The young man didn't mind Ye Chen's coldness. Instead, he reached out and patted the dust off him.

What Ye Chen didn't notice was that a "button" quietly appeared in the young man's hand.

Taking advantage of the opportunity to pat off the dust, he stuck the button in his hand onto the folded edge of the school uniform collar.

Ye Chen silently stepped back two steps, declined the young man's offer, and stumbled out of the alley.

The young man didn't seem to mind, but a strange smile appeared at the corner of his mouth.

After watching Ye Chen's figure completely disappear, the young man turned around and left the alley as well.

Only the lingering words remained in the air.

"Hey, Boss, I found a suitable target. I'm trying to recruit him."

...

Ye Chen followed the location in his memory and walked towards home.

The injuries on his body were recovering at a speed visible to the naked eye.

At the same time, wisps of dark energy surged from the Abyssal Will, constantly strengthening his physical body.

As the Abyssal Will recovered, Ye Chen felt his body becoming lighter and lighter, and his steps became quicker.

This couldn't help but surprise him. Clearly, the Abyssal Will wasn't that simple.

At the very least, he didn't have to go to the hospital, which was excellent news for the struggling Ye Chen.

On the way back, Ye Chen kept processing the memories in his mind and was also somewhat puzzled by the appearance of the Abyssal Will.

He didn't know if this thing had crossed over with his soul.

After walking for more than forty minutes, he finally returned to the home in his memory.

Impatiently, he opened the door and entered, then immediately immersed his consciousness in the God Domain.

At this time, the God Domain seemed to have undergone some changes. The bright sky was covered by thick black mist, not allowing a single ray of light to penetrate.

Swamps, dense forests, lakes... all were eerily silent, sending shivers down one's spine.

The originally barren and dilapidated God Domain seemed to have gone through countless years, filled with the aura of time and decay everywhere.

Immersing his consciousness into the Abyssal Will, which replaced the God Domain Core, the familiar attribute panel came into view.

Different from before, "Power of Faith" had disappeared, replaced by an attribute called "Abyss Power".

To change the rules of the God Domain, one needed to consume Abyss Power.

At this time, after absorbing various negative energies within the original God Domain and the resentment generated after the destruction of the God Domain Core, the Abyssal Will already had 3354 points of Abyss Power.

Ye Chen pondered how to use this Abyss Power to strengthen himself.

All his core dependents, the Worms, had died, so naturally, he needed a batch of life forms to fill this empty God Domain.

Thinking of this, he first attempted to use the Abyssal Will to create life.

Receiving Ye Chen's thoughts, the Abyssal Will responded.

Creating life couldn't be done out of thin air. It could only be created or modified using the souls absorbed by the Abyssal Will.

And at this time, within the Abyssal Will, there were the souls of over thirty thousand Worms stored.

These were naturally the souls of the Worms that had died in battle and were absorbed in the God Domain.

Previously, under the influence of the original owner's week of cultivation and time acceleration, the weak Worms had shown extraordinary reproductive abilities.

While his classmates only had dozens or hundreds of initial creatures, the original owner already had a "Worm Army" of thirty thousand!

Of course, the combat power of this army was almost zero.

Looking at the Worm option before him, Ye Chen wasn't picky.

After all, they were his initial species. Compared to foreign creatures added through creature cards, these initial creatures not only grew faster but also had purer faith and were easier to command.

He tried creating a Worm. Immediately, the Abyss Power decreased by one point. Then, a point of light floated out from the Abyss black sphere.

The point of light landed on the ground, quickly twisted and deformed, constantly stretching and lengthening.

Soon, a one-meter-long, ferocious-looking Worm appeared in Ye Chen's sight.

The Worm slowly opened its eyes, and scarlet flames burned in its pupils.

Its mouthpart was huge, opening in a triangular shape, filled with dense, sharp fangs.

Looking at the majestic and imposing "Worm" before him, Ye Chen couldn't help but be a little stunned.

Was this still his weak and fragile little Worm?

He checked the Worm's attributes:

[Species Name]: Abyssal Worm (Tier 1)

[Level]: Elite Creature (One Star)

[Talent]: Underground Shuttle (Can shuttle through various soil layers at extremely high speed.)

...

After reading the Abyssal Worm's attributes, Ye Chen couldn't help but rub his eyes, finding it somewhat unbelievable.

It became an Elite Creature just like that? And it even gained an Underground Shuttle talent.

He gave the command for it to use Underground Shuttle. The Worm opened its mouthpart and bit down on the ground.

A pit appeared on the ground, and the Worm quickly drilled in, continuing to gnaw.

At the same time, the countless legs on its body waved rapidly, accelerating the shuttling speed while also burying the pit it crawled into behind it.

In the blink of an eye, the Worm disappeared without a trace.

This talent was extremely practical. Facing most creatures on land, it could both attack and defend.

Of course, it was somewhat weak against air force and navy.

Seeing how powerful the Abyssal Worm was, Ye Chen almost couldn't hold back and wanted to summon a Worm Army.

But after thinking for a moment, he dismissed the idea.

Although assembling a large army directly could quickly form combat power.

But it didn't fit his positioning for Abyss creatures.

What was most important for Abyss creatures?

Invasion, Devour Enhance, Strengthen, Evolution!

This was the growth path of Abyss creatures, and the most important among them was naturally the ability of Devour Enhance.

Thinking of this, Ye Chen once again instilled his thoughts into the Abyssal Will.

And the Abyssal Will quickly gave its price.

Adding the Devour Enhance racial talent to the Abyssal Worm required three thousand Abyss Power.

This price made Ye Chen a little hesitant.

He only had 3353 points of Abyss Power left in total, and this would almost deplete it.

Gritting his teeth, he still chose to add the talent.

The Abyss Power was instantly reduced by more than half. At the same time, the aura of the Abyssal Worm on the open ground also changed, filled with a bloodthirsty aura.

Checking the attributes, there was indeed an additional Devour Enhance talent.

He produced another Abyssal Worm and let them fight and devour each other. Ye Chen wanted to see the effect of this talent.

Soon, the two ferocious Worms began to bite each other.

The first Worm, relying on being born earlier and having a harder shell, quickly killed the newborn Worm.

The huge mouthpart constantly tore at the corpse of its kin, devouring the flesh and blood essence one by one.

After devouring everything, the Worm couldn't help but roar towards the sky. Its aura became stronger, and its size increased slightly.

Perhaps the devouring wasn't enough; the Worm didn't achieve a qualitative leap.

Ye Chen wasn't disappointed. Devour Enhance was, after all, a long-term strengthening process. As long as it could survive, it would eventually become a monster through accumulation over time.

Thinking of this, he entered the Abyssal Will again, wanting to mass-produce creatures.

It was at this moment that he noticed something was wrong.

Originally, after adding the talent, there were still 353 points of Abyss Power left.

After producing the second one, there were still 352 points, but now there were actually 353 points of Abyss Power again!

Is this... a bug?
