119: Death Countdown

Before the Demons could approach the city walls, various automatic machine guns and cannons quickly rose from the flat ground outside the city.

This was naturally also a masterpiece of the goblins; these unmanned weapons could attack any moving object within their range.

Dense bullets and shells instantly wove a deathly net of fire, severely suppressing the Demons' charge.

Under the fierce firepower, many Demons were torn to shreds before they could even react, their blood and flesh scattered everywhere.

Seeing this, Apollo immediately ordered his Worm Army to attack, instructing them to approach these weapons from underground and gnaw at their critical components.

The Worm Army was not ambiguous, infiltrating the underground installations of these weapons and gnawing away.

Soon, these weapons experienced various malfunctions and shut down.

Only then did the Demons regroup and charge towards the city walls again.

However, they never expected that the seemingly solid and flat city walls would suddenly crack open with huge fissures, revealing rows of brand new automatic weapons once more.

As soon as the self-propelled artillery activated, it immediately spewed scorchinggunfire, mercilessly devouring the approaching Demons.

Apollo frowned, looking at the dense machine guns and cannons before him.

These things were all automatically controlled, so the Little Devils could not destroy the firepower by killing the operators.

And it was also very difficult for them to deal with these iron lumps, as the Worm Army could not infiltrate the city walls to gnaw.

If they continued to attack, the Demon legion would probably suffer heavy casualties before even entering the city.

After a moment of thought, he decisively called off the offensive, ordering all Demons and the underground Worms to temporarily lie in wait, biding their time.

Now, rushing forward would only be suicide; it was better to let the Little Devils slowly kill them.

Thinking of this, Apollo communicated with the Abyss and opened a portal.

One by one, Little Devils emerged from the portal; these were some of the remaining Demons in the Abyss who had mastered Enter the Shadows.

Even the hundreds of Shadow Assassins were not spared, being pulled in by Apollo to participate in the slaughter.

Soon, these thousands of fresh troops rushed into the city and began to cleanse the entire city.

Immediately after, the Demon Army, Blood Bats, Orcs, Goblins, and other Abyss creatures continuously poured out of the portal.

This shocking scene was captured by the Imperial Capital's staff department's observation screen, immediately causing a panic.

Apollo divided the monster army into four teams, each stationed at one of the Imperial Capital's four city gates, vowing to surround the city completely.

The monsters quickly proceeded to their respective areas to guard, with over two million monsters stationed in each direction, firmly locking down the massive Imperial Capital.

Then Apollo began to wait patiently. Although the Imperial Capital had tens of millions of goblins, nearly twenty thousand assassins were now lurking within the city.

If all went well, the city could be completely slaughtered within two days.

The Goblin Marshal apparently understood the enemy's plan, but facing these elusive assassins, he was helpless and could only passively endure.

The Demons dispersed throughout the city, prioritizing the elimination of armed forces.

Soon, screams rose and fell across the city.

One by one, goblins were killed by fleeting sharp claws, dying in unknown terror.

Some undeterred goblins frantically sprayed bullets at the locations where their compatriots had died, hoping to kill this group of Demons.

Unfortunately, it was all in vain.

The Little Devils did not appear in the present world, only occasionally extending their claws to harvest.

Facing this death countdown, even the firmest belief could not stop the inner fear.

They did not fear death, but they feared their death would be meaningless.

Fear spread rapidly through the city like a plague.

Apollo, waiting leisurely outside the city, could see the materialized aura of fear within the Imperial Capital beckoning to him.

He knew his plan had succeeded.

Such a dense aura of fear was an unparalleled delicacy for him.

But he still suppressed the impulse in his heart.

It's not time yet…

When the situation was reported to the Emperor, he knew it was time to make a choice.

The goblin scientists had exhausted all their means, yet still couldn't find those elusive fellows.

There was no longer any meaning in stubbornly defending the Imperial Capital.

Now, every minute of hesitation meant countless deaths.

“Heaven does not favor my goblin race…”

The Emperor sighed deeply, then issued an order.

All forces were to gather and break through to the south.

This order quickly spread to the goblins throughout the city.

Upon receiving the order, the ministers found the Emperor, wanting to escape together by airship.

Unfortunately, they had no chance.

As the supreme ruler of the Goblin Empire, the Emperor's every move had long been monitored by the Little Devils.

If he had stayed obediently in The Palace, they would merely be observers.

But seeing that the Emperor wanted to escape, they could not let him live.

A faint breeze flashed through the void, and then the Emperor, who was at the pinnacle of the empire's power, closed his eyes unwillingly.

Watching the Emperor turn into shattered corpses before their eyes, the ministers were greatly alarmed and tried to flee in a panic, but unfortunately, one by one, they followed in the Emperor's footsteps.

The other goblins in the Imperial Capital were unaware of this; at this moment, they had prepared for a breakthrough.

The previous battle on the Sunset Plain had exhausted all of the empire's elite equipment.

At this time, within the vast Imperial Capital, there were only a pitiful few dozen mechs, hundreds of Magic Energy Tanks, and thousands of private airships.

Amidst the roar of the tanks, they quickly rushed towards the South City Gate, where the city walls had holes gnawed by the Worms.

As for the city gate itself… it was so tightly blocked that they couldn't easily deal with it.

Apollo also didn't expect that the city walls they had breached would now become an escape route for the goblins.

At this moment, he learned of the goblins' impending breakthrough and its direction from the intelligence provided by the Little Devils within the city.

Knowing that they were all surging towards his position, Apollo dared not neglect, and quickly had the monsters from the other directions come to support.

This time, they didn't have to laboriously run back; portals opened directly within the army, and the monsters returned to the South City Gate after transiting through the Abyss and then through the portals again.

One million monsters were left at each city gate to continue defending, while over seven million Abyss Army gathered outside the entire South City Gate.

And at this moment, Worms were still continuously gushing out of several portals, wanting to fill the entire land.

The goblin army launched its final charge under the command of the Marshal.

Mechs and Magic Energy Tanks charged at the forefront, attempting to tear open the enemy's defense with firepower, to gain opportunities for the follow-up troops.

As for the private airships of those nobles, they couldn't care less; they fled in all directions, but deliberately avoided the South City Gate, this place of death.

Mechs leaped down from the city walls, launching suicidal charges at the Demon Army, while Magic Energy Tanks on the ground formed neat formations, roaring as they charged into the enemy lines.

Countless goblins armed with firearms followed closely, forming a surging torrent of steel.

The battle was imminent. Whether it was mechs, tanks, or goblins, they all unreservedly unleashed theirgunfire, hoping to blast open a path to survival.

Facing the goblins' death throes, Apollo showed no mercy.

Millions of Demons roared and pounced on the enemy, completely disregarding casualties.

A fierce decisive battle thus unfolded, with the sounds of gunfire, screams, and roars echoing through the sky.
