180: Titan Ogre

The next day, after Ye Chen had packed up, he saw that the time was about right, so he used the teleportation array to arrive at the Seventh Assault Squad's stronghold.

Inside the camp, Ye Chen met the other squad members.

Through Vulture's introduction, he met Ostrich, Seagull, Owl, Swift, Kingfisher, Hummingbird, and the captain, Goshawk.

All of them had condensed their astral projections onto their star bodies. Among them, Swift and Kingfisher were female, while the others were male.

Captain Goshawk appeared as a middle-aged man of about forty, with thick eyebrows, large eyes, and a tall, burly build.

After Ye Chen introduced himself, he saw the others slowly retreat and make way, only Vulture remained, grinning sinisterly at Ye Chen.

"Kid, we're going to be a team from now on, so naturally, I need to test your mettle first. Yesterday, your tone was quite arrogant, I hope your strength is as tough as your mouth."

With that, Vulture's star body slammed forward fiercely.

Ye Chen was not surprised by this; it was just a new member's entry assessment, something he had anticipated.

In this Divine-Demon Battlefield, the greatest reliance was still on one's dependents.

However, this assessment surely needed a proper procedure. Could they really just drag all their dependents into a real battle?

Soon, Vulture dispelled his doubts. A translucent, semi-circular light shield enveloped the area where their star bodies met, and then information about the light shield appeared in Ye Chen's mind.

"Virtual Battlefield": A battlefield between illusion and reality. After a battle concludes on this battlefield, fallen dependents and destroyed scenery can be restored.

At this, Ye Chen completely relaxed.

If it were a real battle, he wouldn't be afraid, as he had Abyss Resurrection as a safety net; it would just waste some Abyss Power.

But Vulture might not be so lucky. His dependents were so powerful that they could easily cause unintended damage.

If he accidentally wiped out their clan, his sin would be immense.

Soon, movement came from the connecting passage.

The ground suddenly trembled violently, and the hoofbeats of hundreds of thousands of Kodo Beasts rumbled like muffled thunder. On each Kodo Beast, an Ogre was mounted.

Most of these Ogres were Extraordinary-level Tier 3, with some Extraordinary-level Tier 4 Two-Headed Ogres mixed in.

The Two-Headed Ogre's other head was very small, giving it a stunted appearance, and the two heads together looked extremely incongruous.

But if you underestimated this small head, you would suffer a great loss.

Every Two-Headed Ogre was a genuine spellcaster; their small heads could directly spew out powerful magic, often catching enemies off guard.

Among these Two-Headed Ogres, there were also dozens of Tier 5 Ogres.

These Ogres had already imbued themselves with Extraordinary Power, forming special Extraordinary species such as Lava Ogres, Storm Ogres, and Shadow Ogres.

And the leader of this group of Ogres was a Tier 6 Titan Ogre!

This lord still had the appearance of a Two-Headed Ogre, but its body was enormous, with some silvery-gray, solid cuticles on its body, vastly different from ordinary Green Ogres.

If it were placed alongside those Tier 5 Ogres, aside from its larger size, it seemed to have nothing outstanding.

However, its strength had undergone an earth-shattering change compared to those Tier 5 Ogres; the layer of cuticle on its body alone was something they couldn't break through.

According to the orthodox Evolution method, Ogres cannot evolve into Titan Ogres; it was only because the Ogre leader was fortunate enough to receive the titan god's grace that it completed this special Evolution.

The Ogre leader felt the harsh environment within the Abyss and the negative aura that constantly eroded them, and its heart sank slightly.

How could there be such a dreadful place? It's a hundred times worse than a desolate Gobi desert.

If they stayed here for a long time, its clansmen might suffer non-combat casualties.

But now that Our Lord has bestowed a divine oracle, even if it's difficult, they can only bite the bullet and proceed.

And these hundreds of thousands of Ogres and Kodo Beasts, though appearing extremely formidable, were merely Vulture's cannon fodder troops, used to test Ye Chen's capabilities.

If he couldn't even handle this group of cannon fodder, then there would be no need to unleash the trump card.

An ordinary Lesser God would indeed find this massive army troublesome, but in Ye Chen's eyes, it was merely child's play.

Aside from their numbers, this Ogre army didn't have many outstanding qualities.

Ye Chen planned to use decisive means to end this assessment.

Only by demonstrating his strength could he gain more influence and truly shine in future missions.

Constantly hiding his abilities would only lead to others' contempt, and if he were to suddenly reveal his strength again, it would only leave his teammates with the impression of being "untrustworthy and not to be befriended."

Thinking of this, Ye Chen waved his hand.

Dragon Legion, move out!

Hundreds of dragons, roaring deafeningly, flew towards the battlefield.

These dragons were at least Tier 6 in strength, and with the advantage of air superiority and ranged attacks, they were sufficient to rout this Ogre army.

Of course, relying solely on these hundred-plus dragons would be too inefficient for killing enemies, so Ye Chen also arranged for a hundred million Worms and millions of Little Devils to assist in the battle.

As for the higher-tier demon army, there was no need for them to act.

The charging Ogres suddenly felt a sharp tightening sensation on their bodies. Looking up, the black mist covering the sky suddenly churned violently, and hundreds of dark figures swooped down from the heavens.

The dense dragon might carried by hundreds of dragons materialized, pressing down on the Ogres, making them gasp for breath.

Facing the Dragon race, who stood at the top of the food chain, the Ogre army fell into a panic.

Subsequently, the Dragon Legion continuously circled above the Ogre army, dropping large-area-of-effect skills onto the Ogres' heads.

Thunder, flames, strong winds, blizzards, shadows...

These powerful skills instantly caused massive casualties among the Ogres.

At this moment, the Ogre leader raised its giant axe, which was burning with runes, its entire body glowing red, and then it let out a furious roar.

This roar transformed into sound waves that quickly swept across the entire battlefield. The Ogres who heard the roar quickly turned red-eyed as if infected by a virus.

They had completely lost their fear at this point, roaring incessantly at the dragons in the sky, venting their rage.

But facing the dragons flying in the sky, these ordinary Ogres were completely helpless. Only the Two-Headed Ogres could unleash skills towards the sky.

Soon, the ordinary Ogres also got their chance to act.

Beneath their feet, countless grotesque Worms burst out of the ground, fiercely biting at the enemies before them.

These Worms had extremely sharp teeth; even the thick-skinned Kodo Beasts were like paper in front of them.

In addition, there were some elusive beings that could easily reap their lives.

The demons, hidden in the shadow space, extended their sharp claws and precisely stabbed into the Ogres' hind necks.

And those Ogres only saw several blood-red claw marks flash in the void, and then their clansmen fell heavily to the ground, completely silenced.
