14: Abyss Banshee

Spending 10 points of Abyss Power, a Harpy was summoned.

In an instant, points of light condensed in the sky, and a strange creature rode the wind, descending before his eyes.

The Harpy, originally with the lower body of an eagle and the upper body of a human, had undergone a drastic transformation after being tempered by Abyss Power.

Her once smooth feathers became rough like sand, and eerie dark purple patterns coiled around her wings like a curse.

Her eyes, glowing with a ghostly green light, were like two never-extinguishing will-o'-the-wisps, radiating a chilling coldness.

Her talons grew longer and sharper, wreathed in black mist, and wherever they passed, the air hissed with corrosion.

The wings on her back became even larger, blocking out the sky when spread, and each flap was accompanied by a sharp whistle.

A hint of admiration flashed in Ye Chen's eyes; this oppressive, powerful beauty was exactly what he wanted.

With a thought, the Harpy's attribute panel appeared before his eyes:

【Race Name】: Abyss Banshees (Tier 1)

【Level】: Extraordinary-level Creature (One-star)

【Talent】: Wind Mastery

【Skills】: Wind Blade, Gale, Cursed Body

...The Extraordinary-level Abyss Banshees gave Ye Chen a great surprise, and she also possessed three excellent skills.

The Wind Mastery talent increased the power of wind-based skills and made it easier to comprehend wind-based skills.

Wind Blade was a single-target attack skill, much more powerful than a throwing skill.

From fifty meters away, a single Wind Blade could cut a large chunk off a boulder.

Gale was a support skill that increased speed and evasion, and could also be applied to teammates.

Cursed Body was a passive skill, causing creatures scratched by the Harpy's talons to suffer various negative statuses.

Of course, Ye Chen would not let the Harpy act as a melee soldier unless absolutely necessary.

Although her talons had become very sharp, they were no longer suitable for drawing a bow and shooting arrows.

But Wind Blade was more powerful than arrows and could deal higher damage.

With a thought, Ye Chen unleashed a surge of vast Abyss Power.

Two thousand five hundred points of Abyss Power were instantly consumed.

Abyss Will erupted, and countless points of light converged, gradually revealing the figures of two hundred and fifty Abyss Harpies in the glow.

These newborn Harpies descended onto the open ground, curiously observing everything around them, their chattering discussions rising and falling.

AgaVaried, the Harpy leader at the forefront, had a bewildered look in her eyes; having lost her memories, she seemed to have lost her sense of direction.

Just then, the void twisted, and Ye Chen's phantom slowly stepped out.

He wore a long black robe, with dark red Abyss patterns moving across it like living things, black mist swirling around him, and a bone-chilling coldness emanating from his body.

The Harpy leader felt an overwhelming pressure, vast as the sea, wash over her, making her unable to breathe.

And her kin behind her were even worse, each collapsing to the ground, looking up at the sky with terrified expressions.

Although they did not know the origin of the phantom, their sixth sense told them:

Do not defy!

"I am the Lord of the Abyss."

Ye Chen's voice was deep and cold, echoing through heaven and earth with a rhythm of destruction.

"Sinners, open your eyes and remember my appearance."

"I am the Lord of the Abyss, the manifestation of chaos, the embodiment of eternal darkness!"

"I am the beginning of the Abyss, and also the end of all things."

"From the moment the first wicked thought was born in you, my mark was etched upon you. The meaning of your existence is to fight for me across all realms!"

The Harpy leader's delicate body trembled, then she prostrated herself on the ground and responded loudly:

"My Lord, we shall obey your Will and fight for you!"

Ye Chen nodded with satisfaction and commanded:

"You shall reside high in the mountains, awaiting my summons."

As his voice fell, the phantom gradually dissipated, and the pressure receded with it.

Only when the phantom had completely vanished did AgaVaried struggle to her feet, her entire body already drenched in sweat.

After the Harpies recovered, she led them to fly towards the high mountains.

After patrolling among the peaks for a while, they finally chose to land on the highest mountain peak in the range.

AgaVaried looked around, pleasantly surprised to find a large wooden nest on the cliff.

It was adorned with sparkling trinkets and animal bones, as if tailor-made for her.

She did not know that this was, in fact, her former nest, and everything within it had been arranged by her own hands.

Once all her kin had found shelter, the Harpy leader gathered them to discuss future matters.

The first and most important issue was food; they had discovered during their nest selection that there was no prey available for consumption in the mountains.

This was fundamental to their survival, so everyone was quite anxious.

The Harpy leader, AgaVaried, knew they could not sit idly by and decided to arrange for personnel to expand the search area.

Just then, a rain of Worms suddenly fell from the sky.

Fat Worms descended from above, landing on the mountaintop where the Harpies were gathered.

Seeing this, the Harpies immediately became excited, each selecting a target and delivering a fatal blow.

After all the Worms had perished, AgaVaried led the Harpies to kneel before the blood moon in the sky, chanting in unison:

"Oh, great Lord of the Abyss, thank you for your grace."

"Your bounty will forever nourish your humble servants."

After eating their fill, the Harpies, led by AgaVaried, began to train in combat skills and wind magic.

This rain of Worms was, of course, caused by Ye Chen manipulating the Abyss Will.

He also set up the Abyss Will to provide food regularly, and the Corrupted Blood Pool was prioritized for the Harpies' use.

There was nothing else within the Abyss; ordinary animals simply could not survive there.

So Worms were the best food: abundant, filling, and consumed no resources.

However, as the number of champions increased, the share of Worms would become smaller and smaller.

Increasing the number of Abyssal Worms became the critical issue at hand.

Although creatures created by the Abyss Will were much stronger than their original forms after enhancement, they also lost their ability to reproduce.

Therefore, increasing the number of Abyssal Worms still required starting from souls.

Ordinary Worms could not produce souls; the one hundred Wild Buffaloes had not produced any souls.

The Worm kin were too niche; he had never heard of anyone having a Worm race card.

After much thought, Ye Chen still conveyed his idea to the Abyss Will to see how it could be resolved.

The Abyss Will did not disappoint and quickly provided a solution.

【Soul Mill】: Can be used to grind souls into soul fragments, which can then be used to form blank souls based on existing templates.

He glanced at the information for this item; it seemed to be a 'reforging' of souls?

The cost of five thousand Abyss Power was acceptable.

Bought it!

After Ye Chen made his selection, a transparent windmill-like mill appeared before his eyes.

He placed it within the Abyss architectural complex and eagerly experimented with it.

Currently, apart from the souls of the recently deceased Worms, he had no other souls.

Using Worm souls to produce Worm souls was meaningless.

So Ye Chen turned his gaze to Little Blackie...
