137: First kill of Green Dragon
Upon successfully reaching Dragon Island, the Demon Dragon suppressed its restless emotions, unloaded the meat from the ship, and then, as instructed by the Great Elder, delivered it to various dragon lairs.
This was also the phase with the highest Goblin mortality rate.
One must know that sleeping dragons generally have bad tempers, and if they were to be awakened, the consequences would be unimaginable.
The Great Elder repeatedly admonished them to be light-footed and by no means to offend the Dragon Lords.
Following its assigned task, the Demon Dragon carried some meat towards the lair of a solitary Green Dragon.
On the way, it pulled out the “dragon breath fruit” hidden on its person, intending to taste this magical fruit that even dragons loved.
It extended its Goblin nose and sniffed, a stimulating scent entered its nostrils, making it sneeze a few times.
This thing is quite interesting.
The Demon Dragon no longer hesitated, directly tossing the bright red fruit into its mouth and chewing heartily.
A fiery sensation exploded in its mouth, causing the Demon Dragon’s expression to change dramatically.
It was currently transformed into a Goblin, its form and senses identical to a Goblin, so it fully received the stimulation of this dragon breath fruit.
“Hiss—haa—”
The spicy taste was somewhat difficult for the Demon Dragon to accept; it unhesitatingly picked up the meat it was carrying and took a large bite.
The taste of blood and flesh diluted the spicy sensation, allowing the Demon Dragon to let out a sigh of relief.
However, looking at the meat, which was mangled by its Goblin mouth, the Demon Dragon felt a bit guilty. Could this thing pass inspection?
Since things had come to this, it could only brace itself and continue.
Arriving at the entrance of the Green Dragon’s lair, the Demon Dragon’s expression suddenly changed; it was absolutely reeking.
A foul stench mixed with the Green Dragon’s unique poisonous smell; no wonder this fellow couldn’t find a mate.
Perhaps this fellow’s biological weapon was too potent, as no other dragons settled nearby, which conveniently provided an opportunity for the Demon Dragon.
It held its breath, hoisted the meat, and rushed inside.
The interior of the cave was enormous, and the sound of snoring could be heard intermittently from within.
The Demon Dragon saw the Green Dragon’s “restaurant,” which was piled high with decaying meat, clearly having been there for a considerable time, with some already oozing putrid liquid.
Evidently, the food they had painstakingly collected was not cherished.
Dragons sleeping for an unknown duration only required sufficient meat upon waking, not caring how much food was wasted during their slumber.
The Demon Dragon discarded the meat from its shoulder to the side and continued to sneak deeper into the cave.
Dragons have excellent sleep quality and are generally not easily disturbed, which is why humans can sometimes steal treasures and dragon eggs from dragon lairs.
The Demon Dragon stepped into the depths of the cave, where an adult Green Dragon, dozens of meters long, was sprawled on the ground, sleeping.
Looking at this slovenly Green Dragon, the Demon Dragon hesitated for a moment but decided to transform into its likeness.
Its original Goblin body continuously stretched and deformed, quickly transforming into an identical Green Dragon.
Seeing no flaws, the Demon Dragon immediately extended its demonic claws towards the sleeping Green Dragon.
To prevent the Green Dragon’s struggles and screams from attracting the attention of other dragons, it did not directly kill this dragon but instead opened a portal to the Abyss.
Then, it grabbed the Green Dragon by its tail, threw it in, and quickly closed the portal.
The portal opened directly in the Nine Layer Abyss, and the Green Dragon landed precisely in the volcano’s crater.
Before the Green Dragon could even react to what was happening, it fell into the scorching lava, scalding it and making it scream “awoo awoo.”
And the Abyss Will also discovered this uninvited guest, quickly dispatching powerful individuals to kill it.
Gavin, Lei Ya, and Sharia appeared directly in the Nine Layer Abyss through the portal, jointly hunting the Green Dragon.
Several sixth-tier magical beasts in the Nine Layer Abyss had gone to the Elemental World with the Abyss Army to hunt, otherwise, they wouldn’t have needed to intervene.
When the Green Dragon emerged from the lava, it was met by the Abyss Army, poised for battle.
A great battle immediately unfolded; the Green Dragon was clearly not as resilient as the Fire Kirin and was quickly slain.
And it became the second sixth-tier epic dragon in the Abyss after the Demon Dragon.
After resolving this minor trouble, the Demon Dragon contentedly usurped the Green Dragon’s home.
Meanwhile, the Great Elder, waiting on the shore, saw that other Goblins had already made two or three trips, but Abas had not returned, and his heart suddenly sank.
He was probably doomed.
However, the Dragon Lord’s food was not yet fully prepared, so others needed to be arranged to continue delivery.
He personally designated a Goblin to take over Abas’s work.
The Goblin designated by the Great Elder’s expression changed; this was a demonic lair that had just claimed a life, and going there himself would likely…
However, the Great Elder had been able to govern the tribe for so many years not solely by benevolence.
Looking at the ice shards condensed on the staff, this unlucky Goblin could only resign itself to fate.
It carried the meat and walked with desperate steps towards the Green Dragon’s cave.
Arriving at the cave entrance, it took a deep breath, then tiptoed its way inside.
Upon entering the cave, it threw the meat in its hands into the “restaurant” and immediately wanted to run out.
“Stop!”
A muffled roar stopped the Goblin.
The Goblin’s steps froze, and it turned around, revealing a twisted smile.
Behind it, a massive Green Dragon had silently appeared.
“Dragon Lord, the food hasn’t been delivered enough. I’ll go back and bring more for you.”
The Goblin bowed and scraped, explaining to the Green Dragon.
The Demon Dragon snorted, humming:
“Clear out all that rotten meat for me, and clean the inside of the cave thoroughly!”
With that, the Demon Dragon slowly walked out of the cave, intending to get some fresh air.
The Goblin felt as if it had received a great pardon, quickly carrying a pile of rotten meat and running out of the cave.
It ran all the way to the gathering point on the shore before finally breathing a sigh of relief.
Seeing the Goblin successfully return, the Great Elder also breathed a sigh of relief and quickly signaled it to continue delivering meat.
The Goblin reported the Dragon Lord’s command to the Great Elder, hoping to be assigned two more helpers.
Upon hearing this, the Great Elder had two idle Goblins accompany it.
The three Goblins carried the meat and once again arrived at the Green Dragon’s lair.
More hands make light work; with the continuous cleaning by the three, all the decaying meat in the entire cave was quickly cleared away.
Without waiting for the Green Dragon to return, the three fled back to the shore in a panic.
Afterward, these Goblins quickly left Dragon Island and returned to their own small island.
Meanwhile, the Demon Dragon was circling above Dragon Island, intending to gather some intelligence first.
Dragon Island is vast, like a small continent.
And its dwelling place is on the southwest coast of Dragon Island, some distance from the continent’s center.
On this island live thousands of dragons and tens of thousands of wyverns and dragon beasts, along with some affiliated races and a large number of wild beasts.
Among them, dragons are primarily the five-colored dragons: red, blue, green, black, and white, as well as rare gold and silver dragons.
It is said that the closer one gets to the central area, the stronger the dragons residing there become, and at the very center, the legendary Ancient Dragons reside!
